I did make it the same day your video came out! I'm going to make it on rotation! I used not-beef bouillon and coconut milk. I put it over some kalamata olive sourdough.
Lol. I am on my way out to the store and guess why i am watching this vid again!! Spicy is good for me but I have to skip the nutritional yeast or i will get a migraine!

Hi Shakayla, this recipe has been featured on another you tuber's video. Her name is Merle O'Neal. She tries out different peoples recipes to see if she likes them. She gives her opinion whether she would make the recipe again. I was so excited to see her trying your recipe on her channel. She loved it. She has made it numerous times❤❤❤
@@Shakaylafelice I watch another you tuber called Those Vegan Guys. They are a vegan couple in the UK. Guuuurl…the ancestors woke up with this recipe. I made this and my man’s energy was on a whooooooole other level of happy. I used left over mixed greens and a handful of arugula from my honey’s garden. He said these beans made it to the family recipe book and he was sad when he got full and couldn’t finish the rest. lol THANK YOU!! I’m making all yoooo stuff. Thanks boo!
My daughter made this yesterday. At first I was skeptical because I don't like beans. I never have liked beans in all of my 52 years of life but my goodness, I destroyed all of this up with some Texas toast and I was in pure heaven!
I from Germany tried the recipe today. I even made the harissa by myself. Instead of cale, I used frozen spinach as I had it at hand, fresh garlic instead of powder, dropped the yeast and used vegetable broth powder and as a finishing touch, some lemon zest to add some freshness. For the milk I used a mix of dairy cream and milk. The dish was soooo delicious. Everybody loved it! Thanks for this great healthy vegetarian dish! I'll surely make it again as it even does not take too much time after work in the evening. Thumbs up and greetings from Stuttgart region, South Germany. ❤
Sooo many questions...want to make this in slow cooker tonite!! 1) butter beans - making my list & don't see them on the site I'm using; will navy or great northern (or even pinto) beans work? I love almost all legumes, except garbanzo..ugh; also thinkin'bout doing a 2 - or 3 - bean mix up! 2) can't do tomato or any kinda tomato product. Now, I could just totally leave them out, OR I could make my own* (recipe below), OR I could use a tomato-free chili paste. Surprisingly, after enjoying tomatoes all my life, at 28 I realized the swelling that I was experiencing every time I ate my favorite Italian & Mexican dishes was because of the tomatoes 😮😢😮. Doctors had no idea why, other than to offer a glib "looks like you'll just have to stop eating them then" 🤬. Ffwd 30 years, I still miss eating fried green tomatoes, but I've been able to recreate my favorite Italian & Mexican dishes without them - it's mainly all in the spices & the seasonings, ya know??! So again, it'll be okay if I make the harissa without the tomatoes, right?? Can't wait to try it though...it looks really good 😋 *tomato-free pasta sauce www.allrecipes.com/recipe/201097/no-tomato-pasta-sauce/
AN UPDATE: went to the website for the harissa, checked the ingredients & guess what: NO TOMATO! Actually, it looks like my pasta & chili sauce recipe that starts with roasted red pepper & chili paste (+ a bit of hoisin when I make my BBQ sauce) 😉
Finally got a chance to make this. It is the definition of comfort food, and its absolutely packed with flavor. I made it for my dad and myself, and he said "ok we should have this again soon."
Listen!!! I made this recipe 2 weeks ago. It was SO GOOD I slapped myself! I'm commenting now from the parking lot of my grocery store to make sure I pick up any items I need to make it again this weekend!😁
Thank you posting this hearty, quick and easy to make recipe . My tip for everyone making it ~ when you drain the oil from the tomatoes don’t waste it, make sure you save it. Use a little in the pan to cook the shallots and garlic, it will stop the burn and add flavour. You can use the rest to spread on the bread before toasting, it will come out golden and delicious. If you have any left (I doubt you will) keep it in your fridge and add this beautifully flavoured oil with a little knob of butter to the pan next time you’re cooking onions or shallow frying something. It’s also great to use up stale bread, dip it in the flavoured oil and fry in a pan making croutons to go with soup or a salad 😋
Yes! I actually use the oil from the tomatoes to cook the shallots. If there’s any left over I incorporate it into my next salad dressing or use it for cooking.
MA’AM!!!!!! I’m speechless. Let me start with the FACT that I don’t eat beans PERIODT, UNTIL I made this dish. I’m on a healthy journey and anti-inflammatory is what caught my attention. I could only find the spicy harissa in my local grocery store and I could only find the curly kale. So I made it with what I had. I will serve it with Naan bread slightly toasted. SHOUTING….THANK YOU for sharing this recipe. It’s sooooo good😋😋
A friend of mine introduced me to this recipe - she was absolutely RAVING about it. I waited for about a month before finally making it and I legit regret every minute I wasted not making this!!!! It is so good! I’ve made it twice in four days and we have DEVOURED it both times! And the worst part?? It is SO DANG EASY TO MAKE! Why did I wait so long!!??? *shakes fist at the sky*
We are pretty solidly omnivores in this household, but we do observe Meatless Mondays. This is by far the most delicious bean recipe I have ever encountered, plant based or not. I'm going to be making this A LOT. Thanks so much for this fabulous recipe!
Four things: 1 where have you been all my life?!! 2 harissa is spiceeeeeeeey! 3 this is the perfect meal after a day of wine tasting! I followed your recipe to the "tee" but added some farmer markets faves (peas, bell pepper, and roma tomatoes) just a little... 4 the way my man just ate this up dancing in silence with his eyes closed and then went to bed 😂 Thank you so much for sharing 💝 what a beautiful gift you are!
Two more edits based on what i could find... great northern beans and unsweetened coconut cream. I could've used more cream tho bc that harissa baybeee! 😋
I finally made the dish after traveling to several stores to purchase the Harissa, no butter beans. I had two cans of chickpeas,I used them instead. I used cashew milk in place of soy milk. I added a little ginger, smoked chili salt, and 365 organic Italian blend cheese. SOOOOO GOOD!
Ok , hear me out. I have a nine month old son and Baby he ATE THIS MEAL UP!!!! my FAMILY and I love love love this meal (and I’m the only Plant Based member). I’m just mad I waited this long to make it. It was amazing! I didn’t change a thing except my store only had the spicy Harissa sauce so, I held off on the pepper flakes. But other than that we ATE this up!!! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe with us. My son was licking around his mouth making sure he didn’t miss any, spice and all.
I'm a vegan IN MY HEAD and came across this young ladies dish, was never a butter bean person but I am now, I am originally Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 (HEAT) is our first name I tried this dish but because I'm not vegan I used coconut milk and I added fresh pimento peppers even though the Herrisa Sauce has a kick and it was delish so much so I went to a friend's and she asked me to make it. I will be attempting more of your Resipes.
I’m commenting for my sister who made this two days in a row! Following the recipe to the tee and everyone in the house inhaled it!!! This is a winner! 🏆💯😊 thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks sissy for posting this for me 😂 …I’ve never commented on anyone’s post like EVER 😅 so this is a first for me!!! Yes yes yes this dish is amaze balls!!!! I just made it again last night and it was even better than the first 2 times I made it!!!! Thank you for your recipes ❤
I gotta thank the TH-cam algorithm for the connect!!! I ran DIRECTLY to the store and cooked 2 batches of this in the same night...!!! I followed the recipe but used coconut milk....Sooooo good!
I made some adjustments based on the ingredients I had at home. Instead of using milk, I used a whole can of unsweetened coconut milk and added 1/2 cup of water to thin it out. Since I didn’t have vegetable broth, I added a quarter cup of water and a bay leaf. To thicken the sauce, I mixed a tablespoon of coconut flour with half a cup of water and added it to the pan. Instead of using jarred harissa, I usually buy freshly made Harissa from my local Middle Eastern market for its better taste, but it has slightly more heat so adjust to tolerance. I served the dish with sourdough bread and naan, which I bought from my local Costco, and both were delicious. The meal turned out perfectly. Thank you!
To say i have been driving my fiancé crazy with this recipe is an understatement. Since I first watched this video, I have been making this weekly. Most recently I topped a Japanese sweet potato with this and i kid you not, I licked my plate when I was done. 😂😂
I just made this for dinner and was not prepared for how tasty and bold the flavors were! Full disclosure: I burnt the shallots and garlic 😂but I'm so in love with this recipe. Thank you ♥
Thank you! For showing this special dish….we in the Middle East make this dish as an appetizer and for some a meal in itself. This is an excellent source of nutrients
Lot of people tell me beans are bad for health but personally speaking adding beans helps me keep my weight down. I also noticed that in most blue zones the people eat beans.
Couldn't find harissa anywhere so I made some myself! (I learned the hard way that it is imperative to wear gloves when handling chiles 🤦♀️) But this dish was SO delicious, especially with my own homemade harissa chili sauce :)
I have made this twice now, only subbing great northern beans because that’s what I had on hand, and then the second time with the harissa sauce and oh my goodness, this is now a favorite of mine and my daughters, 10 and 8. We pair a bakery bread and toast it, butter it, and devour it! They call it “bean bread” 😂♥️Just make it, you won’t regret it 😋
I made this tonight and have to say that this is the best vegetarian dish I’ve ever made or enjoyed in my life, no joke! Thank you Shakayla, so much, you have made my night and there’s leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Anti inflammatory meals are so important for my health so please show a few more of these recipes soon. God bless you and your family!❤
I’ve made it twice now. Not vegan, neither is my family but I like meat-free meals and am recently with a dairy allergy. I absolutely.cannot.get.enough. 😍 I use 2/3 mild and 1/3 regular Harissa so perfect spicy.🌶️ I could eat this every day! Can’t wait to share with non-vegan friends!❤
This meal looks SO YUMMY!! I’m a big fan of butterbeans and grow my own in my garden. Unfortunately, I have chronic auto-inflammatory illness and nightshades are major triggers. This means I can’t use the harissa, tomatoes or red pepper flakes included in the recipe. I’m so glad we’ve all learned about substitutions. Hoorah!! This is one I’ll be enjoying, at least my version of it.
@@Fudgeey I replace tomatoes with a mix of cooked carrots, beets, garlic, onion and salt/pepper and apple cider vinegar. Experiment to get it to your liking. Everyone’s tastebuds are a bit different. I make a batch of mine every month or so and store it in mason jars in my refrigerator or freezer. It’s easy to scale and then season for the dish I’m making. In place of peppers, I add heat with oregano, white pepper and such. Search the internet for published spice mixes for chili, bbq rubs, garam masala, curries, etc that exclude nightshades. For potatoes, I generally substitute with cauliflower or turnips, which are both higher in nutrition. That’s a very good thing. Eggplants are hard to substitute, but I’ve successfully used zucchini in a fair number of eggplant dishes. I hope this helps.
I cook carrots, beets, onion, garlic, salt, pepper and apple cider vinegar to replace tomatoes. This sounds strange, but it really does work very well. There is a company that makes “Nomato” sauce that is essentially the same thing. For Italian, Mexican, African, etc. the spices can be switched to fit. I make batches for storage in mason jars and in the freezer. For spicey foods that might normally include peppers/chilis, I include other heat inducing spices like oregano, white pepper, garlic and ginger. You can also goole for nightshade free spice mixes. I have curries, garam masala, chili and bbq spice mixes that are wonderful, all found on the internet. For potatoes, I use turnips, cauliflower or parsnips. Eggplant is the hard nightshade to replace, honestly.
So… I just made this for dinner and I only have one question. Is it possible to subscribe to your channel twice?! It was off the chain! It was so good, I actually came back to your video so I could comment on how good it was!! This is a new menu staple in my household!
Vegan grannie here, I saw this and said: “Oh Yeah! we are doing THIS!” Wow that looks GOOD! And not a bunch of fattening oily ingredients…Perfect! Thank You So Much!
my husband is a stubborn meat eater, but he LOVED this recipe! as soon as i started sauteeing the shallots with the garlic and sundried tomatoes, he was already saying how good it smelled! this is definitely a recipe that we're gonna use in our house, thank you!!!
Did you use one or two cans of butter beans please? I want to make in a couple of hours for dinner but just wondering if it will be another for my hubby.
I made this last night and had it again today for lunch. OMG, if you have not made this dish, you should rush out to buy the ingredients and make this dish. I used 3 cans of beans, sundried tomato without the oil, and rough kale from Publix in a bag. I also sauteed my shallots, minced garlic, and onions in harissa oil that I picked up from the Fort Pierce Farmer's Market in February, and I had nutritional yeast in the fridge but forgot to use it. I also used coconut milk for added flavor. I eat it with a croissant, which I think I'd prefer sourdough bread when I make it again. THIS DISH IS ALL THAT. It tasted better today after it sat overnight.
I made this a few days ago. I want to make it again today. It was THE most flavorful vegan dish I’ve ever had. Hands down delish. I’m not the best cook but you couldn’t tell me nothing after I made it. 😂
Holy moley... how come you only show up on my screen today, when you've been here 3 years?? I do believe we are food twins. Boy does this look good for lunch tomorrow. Mmm, so many great things to try "from your kitchen"...thanks 🙂
Just made it and it really is AMAZING! My husband and I just had it for lunch with a nice olive bread... almost finished it all.... And BTW, you can get all the ingredients at the Trader Joe's! Thank you for this delicious gem!
I feel this comment in my soul (and stomach hahah)! I don't know why but I seem to watch more food and recipe videos when I'm fasting. It's weird and can be absolutely torturous but it seems to help me make healthier food choices when I break my fast so I endure the torture from myself 😂
OMG! I made this Saturday. When I say DOGGONE DELICIOUS…OMGGGGG! I couldn’t find butter beans so I opted for northern beans instead. I used a LITTLE creole seasoning instead of salt and pepper; and I added a can of fire roasted tomatoes. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
I cannot wait to try this recipe I'm so excited. I can't wait to be able to cook for myself again in my own little house. Living on the streets the last couple months has been really hard. But hopefully I get into this small house community and have a safe place for me and my cat and I can start cooking real food again
How ere you loterally reading my mind Sis! I am on the border for the Diabeetus and saw a nutritionist who told me to eat way more fiber no red meat and such. I love one pot meals and every single ingredient in this recipe.
@@sun-shipi don't think so, because my numbers are bad due to various other health issues. My Dr asked about me eating meat due to certain vitamins. I'm sure it's different for individuals, but in general it's not an issue.
I saw this vid yesterday and save it to my recipes. right after went to Home Goods for a couple of items and while in the food section I saw a jar of Harissa! That was a sign to make it asap. After grocery shopping for the few items I didn’t have, I made it with just an addition of Vegan Smoked Provolone. I used coconut milk. I almost settled for Northern Beans but went took the trip to Whole Foods to get the butter beans. And wow! It was just as good if not better than I imagined it would be. The spicy heat was a perfect level. My family loved it! including my youngest who’s 21 and a very picky eater these days. My eldest who is culinary artist herself, loved it too! She said it was amazing. This is going to be my go to for get togethers and a staple dinner in our home. It was so simple to be so delicious! I just add a salad and voila!
Shakayla, I made this and made it my own as you told us to do. I used kale and spinach. I also added sweet fire roasted red peppers and artichoke hearts in olive oil. I also added smoked paprika, and I used coconut milk. When I say girl, you were telling the truth it is so delicious 🔥 And I'm not even vegan... I'm having second thoughts now😉

I made this this morning 😮😮😮 Delicious. I made w/o the oil and veg stock. I used the liquid from the canned beans instead for sauteeing and for the veg stock. Instead of the harissa sauce I used a salt, sugar and oil free marinara sauce and added chopped jalapeño. This will be a staple food in my home 😊. thank you.
Absolutely delicious!! I made it twice this week. Used spinach, Dino kale, and unsweetened coconut milk. Sprinkled a little Garma masala towards the end of the cooking process.. yes, yes!! Ate it with sourdough bread the first time and jasmine rice the second time. Thank you so much for this recipe!!
Babeeeeeeeeee Giiiiiiiirrrrrlllll! #1 I am not a vegan, just trying to eat healthier. And this right here was the BOMB!!! I couldn't find canned butter beans and didn't want to buy harrissa just in case i didn't like the recipe! Doctored up some tomato paste and used cannellini beans! The bomb! I will be making this at least once a week. I don't know if anyone is going to get any of this batch!
Lord in heaven. I just made this tonight after drooling over it all weekend. Let me tell YOU! This is beyond good. No one in my house is vegetarian by a long shot, but I promise we didn’t miss meat with this meal AT ALL. This is a hit! Adding to the rotation❤❤❤❤❤
Oh man, is this good! My supermarket didn’t have butter beans so I substituted with cannellini beans and it was delicious. I’ll definitely be making this again. Thank you!
OMGOODNESS!!! The first time I made this, I did not follow the recipe. Neither did I follow it precisely the 2nd time. However, I made some common sense substitutions. I used yellow onions instead of shallots, lots of it. I sautéed it slowly. I had one pod of garlic. I used it along with the garlic in the jar. Though, I doubled the recipe, I used only 1/3 cup of "no chicken broth" and a little "Better Than bouillon," which makes everything tastes better!!!! Finally, I used spinach instead of kale. I forced myself to put the leftover away. This is delicious!!! A Winner!!!
I saw this and immediately HAD to make it, but I didn’t have harissa sauce, kale, or sun dried tomatoes so I improvised using a mix of tomato paste, smoked paprika, Ajika Georgian season from Trader Joe’s, lemon juice and red pepper flakes for the harissa, over dried cherry tomatoes for the sun dried tomatoes, and frozen spinach for the kale. It’s absolute delicious!! I’m eating it with mushroom kabobs and crusty bread 😋
I've been making this dish for years! I started making it when I lived in Israel...I am going to make some tomorrow...I use spinach and some squash along with lots of chopped onion...I always put peanut butter melted into the mix towards the end...The original dish used tahini...I didn't have any...But I did have peanut butter...I loved it mixed in!!!
I recently helped a friend move and ended up with her "pantry". I had everything I needed to make this (even the harissa sauce- same brand!) I used frozen lima beans (I cooked them first). I couldn't find my nutritional yeast. My sun-dried tomatoes were not soaked. I don't even like sourdough bread (but I had some and it was amazingly good with this!!). You made it look so incredibly yummy I HAD to make it. This was PHENOMENAL!!! Thank you so very much!!
I have made this again and again. Still without nutritional yeast but I've even made it with shrimp, mushrooms & bacon in place of beans. I ran out of Harissa so just added roasted red peppers, more sun dried tomatoes, cumin, coriander, hot paprika & chipotle chili. I have also added True Lime crystals (you can use real lime) to give it more tang. It is easy, so good for you and the comfort food/flavor quotient is off the charts!! So GRATEFUL I found you!
This video has been popping up on my home feed for months….MONTHS and I finally tuned in. This looks DELICIOUS!!! I’m going to try to recreate this for my family and see what we come up with
Hello there! Please note that Nutritional Yeast that has B-12 listed on the packaging has been enriched with synthetic vitamins. B-12 is not naturally formed in NY. It’s better to purchase and consume a non-fortified version of NY. I hope that this helps.
You're right. If I remember correctly, B-12 only comes naturally in red meat. That's why most, if not all, vegans and vegetarians have to supplement B-12 since they don't eat meat. I think anyone who doesn't eat red meat must take B-12. Even those who only eat chicken, fish, or pork.
@@tashas9531 B12 is produced by bacteria. it is in animal products - their gut bacteria produce it plus many farmed animals are given B12 supplements. they also get it from manure exposure. you can also get B12 in mushrooms and seaweed. many people do not absorb it well from food - potentially up to 40% of people - and need to supplement B12 even if they eat meat/eggs/dairy. I'm vegan and my levels are good thanks to things like B12 supplemented nutritional yeast, but my mother, who eats meat, dairy, and eggs, just got told her levels are low and she had to supplement.
@@tashas9531 you know why there's an abundance of B-12 in meat? Because the cattle graze on grass and pick up the bacteria from the dirt that the grass is growing in. It's actually a bacteria in dirt. You don't need to eat animals to get B-12... just leave your veggies a bit dirty... Or use nutritional yeast or a B-12 supplement.
I just made this dish for the first time. Not a Vegan at all, but babe don’t tempt me. If I can make a dish and my tastebuds jump like it’s doing now, gon and sign me up !!!❤❤❤

This was amaaaaazing and so easy to make. It was soo good I went back for seconds. It tastes even better the next day. With recipes like this I could happily become a veggie😊 This is one I will be having again 😊
It looks delicious but carbohydrates are not anti-inflammatory. Beans are 2/3 carbohydrates which turn into sugars. And bread of course is more carbohydrates that turn into more sugar.
OMG I just made this and it was DELICIOUS! I used red lentils and blackeyed peas instead of butter beans and used oat milk but I followed everything else.❤❤❤
OMG! When I say goooood!! Didn't have Harissa, but had its super close cousin, Sriracha! The hubby and son loved it! Will be making this from now on.❤👍🏾👍🏾
If you have not made this dish, your missing out on a very delicious, quick and healthy meal. Very cost effective and well definitely be on rotation. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, this was DELICIOUS! It reminded me of a dish my mom used to make which involved beans and we used to devour it! We’d eat it with pickles, so I’ve decided to try it with this dish too. It WORKED. Take a bite with the bread and sauce and take a bite of a pickle. *chef’s kiss 💋
As an 18 plus year vegan, I must admit this is one of the best recipes I’ve replicated without adding my own twist. It was delicious. The only deviations I made were I used half the amount of harissa because I had spicy, added vegan Greek yogurt as a topper as well as some of the sun-dried tomato oil and garnished with parsley. It was delicious. Thanks for sharing.

Can't wait to try it though...it looks really good 😋
*tomato-free pasta sauce
www.allrecipes.com/recipe/201097/no-tomato-pasta-sauce/
AN UPDATE: went to the website for the harissa, checked the ingredients & guess what: NO TOMATO! Actually, it looks like my pasta & chili sauce recipe that starts with roasted red pepper & chili paste (+ a bit of hoisin when I make my BBQ sauce) 😉
Finally got a chance to make this. It is the definition of comfort food, and its absolutely packed with flavor. I made it for my dad and myself, and he said "ok we should have this again soon."
FELLAS, *MR OBALAR* ON TH-cam CURED ME TOTALLY ❤❤…
Listen!!! I made this recipe 2 weeks ago. It was SO GOOD I slapped myself! I'm commenting now from the parking lot of my grocery store to make sure I pick up any items I need to make it again this weekend!😁
FELLAS, *MR OBALAR* ON TH-cam CURED ME TOTALLY ❤❤..
Thanks for this tip.... Much appreciated.... 🙂
I was wondering what I could do with the oil from leftover sundried tomatoes. this is a great idea.
It’s sooooo good😋😋
Deeelicious x
I actually think it's more economical to just use less spicy harissa vs the mild at the same price.
What milk did u use? Thanks
It looks good 5-27-2024❤
Naan sounds like it would be perfect for this
A friend of mine introduced me to this recipe - she was absolutely RAVING about it.
😂 shakes fist at the sky! I love it lol. So glad you made it and enjoyed ❤️
You're too funny 🤣🤣
I'm sooo making this..looks so good.
Thank you for sharing.
I think this made me happier than the video 😂❤️❤️
😂😂😂😂😂
This is the best vegan recipe I’ve ever had, and I’ve been vegan for over 2 years now. The flavor though 🤤
We are pretty solidly omnivores in this household, but we do observe Meatless Mondays. This is by far the most delicious bean recipe I have ever encountered, plant based or not. I'm going to be making this A LOT. Thanks so much for this fabulous recipe!
Four things:
1 where have you been all my life?!!
2 harissa is spiceeeeeeeey!
3 this is the perfect meal after a day of wine tasting! I followed your recipe to the "tee" but added some farmer markets faves (peas, bell pepper, and roma tomatoes) just a little...
4 the way my man just ate this up dancing in silence with his eyes closed and then went to bed 😂
Thank you so much for sharing 💝 what a beautiful gift you are!
Two more edits based on what i could find... great northern beans and unsweetened coconut cream. I could've used more cream tho bc that harissa baybeee! 😋
It kind of blew my mind when she showed her harissa was MILD! I have GOT to look for that because I cannot handle the heat!
I'm making my list for the market 😊and shared your recipe with family.
EDIT : Where have you bean all my life😂
@wendym5086 I caught that! "Bean" lol 😂😂
Dear God that sounds amazimg!!!! What is this smoked chili salt?? It sounds amazing
😂😂😂his lil self forget the milk, my mama can cook!
Yasssss! So happy to hear that you enjoyed it
I made some adjustments based on the ingredients I had at home. Thank you!
Peace and blessings sister, I just made this dish in my 18 wheeler!
This is fire!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Please keep it coming
whaaaatt?? that’s awesome ☺️
To say i have been driving my fiancé crazy with this recipe is an understatement. Since I first watched this video, I have been making this weekly.
Most recently I topped a Japanese sweet potato with this and i kid you not, I licked my plate when I was done. 😂😂
😂😂😂😂Ma'am!!!!
I’m not vegan or vegetarian. Dish was Delicious! I paired it with grilled chicken thighs and sourdough bread
I just made this for dinner and was not prepared for how tasty and bold the flavors were! Full disclosure: I burnt the shallots and garlic 😂but I'm so in love with this recipe. Thank you ♥
I did too but it still tasted so good! I’m making it again tonight.
I've made this twice! Love this recipe so much. I eat mine with rosemary sourdough bread. * chefs kiss*
Yes!!! Rosemary sourdough bread just fires on all cylinders. Sooo delicious
Just made it today, and I agree. After the chopping the meal comes together really quick. One pot! 🙌🏾
Made that bread this past Friday! So good!
Rosemary sourdugh bread? Ohhh! I'm going to use this bread next time. Thanks!
That sounds delish! I had it with raisin pecan sourdough. I made mine with canned coconut milk, and garnished with cilantro and spring onion.
Thank you! For showing this special dish….we in the Middle East make this dish as an appetizer and for some a meal in itself. This is an excellent source of nutrients
They do not you you live in Michigan or something
They call it “bean bread” 😂♥️Just make it, you won’t regret it 😋
Yes I always have great northern beans also. Cool that it works 😊
@@tammyjohnson7401 I made it with great northern beans as well, It was so good I'm just going to use them next time too.
I just found harissa at Shwarma restaurant & Trader Joe’s.
I can’t wait to use them.
I’m making this tomorrow on my day off. Sitting in my car in the parking lot after work and watching this video. I’m inspired.
Please share your substitutions for nightshades, I'm always looking for alternatives since tomato sauce tends to give me problems.
I have issues with nightshades, as well. Please share your substitutions. Much appreciated!!
@roadtriplover. Indeed, same here.
I want yall to know I've made this 4 times now in 3 weeks. The Smoky is bomb!!! So soooo good!!!!
Ahhh so happy to hear that
Lady, this popped up based on my algorithems...YESSSS TO ALL OF IT! I will try this recipe. Thanks for sharing.
I also wanted to say I love a quick and easy recipe that doesn't cheat on the flavor!!
Yasss! That’s exactly what this is
Bayyyyyyyyyyyybeeee when I tell u I made this andddd it was gooooood't don't🚶🏾♀️ walk run🏃🏾♀️ and make this .....
Currently on a fast and torturing myself by watching this video - can't wait to make it.
I feel this comment in my soul (and stomach hahah)! I don't know why but I seem to watch more food and recipe videos when I'm fasting. It's weird and can be absolutely torturous but it seems to help me make healthier food choices when I break my fast so I endure the torture from myself 😂
Just finished a 40 day fast. You will make it and that first meal of what you've deprived yourself of will be yummy! 🙏🏾🙏🏼🙏🙏🏿
same. on day 3 of a water fast... my mouth is watering lol
I'm on the 7th day of a 7- day fast..I'm starving lol I can't wait to make this!
Interesting because this came up in my feed while I was fasting yesterday.
Girl, you gotta share your skincare routine. I know it's mostly from food you eat, but your skin looks so good. Please share!
How ere you loterally reading my mind Sis! I am on the border for the Diabeetus and saw a nutritionist who told me to eat way more fiber no red meat and such. I love one pot meals and every single ingredient in this recipe.
So glad you are taking control of your health!
Not the diabeetus lolol
😅@@jessicaboutte42
Red meat is bad for diabetes? How does that track?
Btw I was vegetarian for years, just wondering if there is some biased thinking there.
I'm having second thoughts now😉
I am going to try it with the artichokes. I bet it's going to be delicious.
This is my third time making this dish, Started it then realized didn't have the greens BUT had cabbage. It was a good sub.
…anti-inflammatory meals are perfect for people with diseases like Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, et.al. Thank you for posting this; we all need more nutritional yeast!

Ahh so glad you enjoyed it!
I cannot wait to make this👏🏾 I almost drooled when I saw the Short earlier this Week🤭
So glad to see this post. Working on a month’s worth of plant-based meals on a budget. Looks SO flavorful and dense 🤤
Hope you enjoy it!
Update: it was SO good.
I made this and my vegetarian daughter practically slapped my hand to get to more. Soooo good!
Not sure how you made to my algorithm but I’m glad you came
Same! 💝
Oh man, is this good! My supermarket didn’t have butter beans so I substituted with cannellini beans and it was delicious. I’ll definitely be making this again. Thank you!
I never would have thought of this dish on my own and can’t wait to try it! Also, you look so pretty!
A Winner!!!
Looks like a fantastic meal but for anyone who wants to just skip to the recipe part, prep starts at 3:07.
Thanks for sharing about skipping the ads...I wasn't aware, but no more skips because I love your channel!!💜💜
Good to know. Thank you 👌
You're right.
I’m obsessed with this recipe
Yassss! Sameee
Same. Making it again tomorrow. 😋
This got me gladly staying home Friday night even more. In fact, I may never leave the crib again less it’s to buy your cookbook.

Yes.
But honestly even smaller than that adding stuff like yeast is not anti inflammatory.
Very true
I just made this for my mom with harissa she brought back from Morocco. It was amazing! Especially with a little coconut yogurt on the side!
Mmmm ..coconut yogurt ??!!! Mmmm .would you mind sharing recipe ?
It's rare that I have almost all the ingredients to a recipe, including the Harissa sauce. I can't wait to make this tonight! ❤
OMG I just made this and it was DELICIOUS! I used red lentils and blackeyed peas instead of butter beans and used oat milk but I followed everything else.❤❤❤
My daughter shared this with me and she’s made it today. It looked delicious‼️ 😋
OMG! When I say goooood!! Didn't have Harissa, but had its super close cousin, Sriracha! The hubby and son loved it! Will be making this from now on.❤👍🏾👍🏾
