In this weeks video I tackle something that has been on my list for months! I finally weld in the new magnum panels heater bowl. This was a job that required a bit of tweaking but I got there in the end and I couldn't have asked for a better finish.
I also in this video welded in two triangle pieces which fit either end of the radiator mountings for extra support. Then I moved my attention down to the lower section where the radiator sits and cut out, then welded in the pre fabricated section which Darren French kindly gave me. This will allow me to fit a good size radiator when running the pinto as there wouldn't have been much room without out this modification.
The engine bay is getting very close to needing some body colour sprayed on & I'm getting more exited by the day!

Looking good, don't forget the inner fender/firewall/ chassis rail gussets, will really stiffens up the front end, great to see a perfectionist at work

Nice work Mitch exciting times ahead mate nearly ready for paint as you said your nearly there with the metal work finished I have the scuttle and heater bowl to take off and repair etc on mine it gives me some tips on my one when I tackle that , I have a 4 door mk2 that’s going tarmac arched

Blimey mate, never wear shorts doing this sort of graft.. So, you really are coming along good with the fab skills fella 👌.
If I can say one thing, practice start/stop welds with same thickness scrap. Now,when you get a proper tidy little stitch that you cannot snap...Change one of the pieces to say 3 or 4 times thicker at least and produce the exact same strong little stitch. Please, please just try it and when you actually do it, you will understand what I was on about and it will really help you dude ✌️👍

you need to buy and fit some chassis rail to bulkhead gussets especially if your going to be upgrading the bhp of the pinto more and more over time

I was thinking at the beginning of this video that bare legs might not be such a great idea when using an angle grinder. But then I guess it'd have gone through fabric anyway...
