@@classic_britain I own (and have bought /saved) several of these over the years. Don't know if you've tackled trying to start this yet or not, but unless attacked by mice, the electrics will most likely be just fine for starting - the bad rep is very undeserved, so don't waste loads of time checking through stuff first, ime. If it doesn't start, most people will point you at the crank sensors (it's an early car so has two) and the 'big blue' efi relay as being the cause. Don't go digging straight into them unnecessarily just because you're told 'they're always faulty'. If the fuel pump runs, big blue is basically fine (NB there are actually several relays associated with the injection system as well - it's not all down to Big Blue). If you have spark, the crank sensors and ignition system are fine - don't bother wasting time digging into it further. People will also point to the AFM - but again, ignore that, they basically never fail. Assuming the fuel pump runs and you have spark, then the most likely cause is stuck injectors - and they will usually free up quite quickly just with some really good whacks from a solid/weighty screwdriver direct or ratchet wrench handle, straight onto their bodies (you can get at them from the front, through between the inlet manifold runners) while cranking. NB: if you bypass the injection system controlling the fuel pump (eg by putting a 12v feed directly onto it) then it will start and run, but the idle will climb and cut, climb and cut - the injection ECU knows you've bypassed it and gets pissed off. By the way, if the hydraulic system is intact, the suspension will actually pump up enough on the starter motor alone - doesn't need the engine running (if the accumulator sphere is very low on gas blown though, it will take far too long to do just off the starter - you'll likely just kill it).
Hi 👋 i live in New Zealand. Last year i was walking past a car garage and a Citroen CX was parked outside the garage. I went in and asked a mechanic about it. He told me it is to be restored. It wasnt in such a good shape. A 1977 model. I recently returned to the garage to see the car but it wasnt there and the garage wasnt open. A very rare car nowadays.
@fotorabia It could possibly be the same one. I live in Palmerston North. I know where Petone is , it's near Wellington. The Citroen CX is in a bronze colour.
Typical farmers, keep something becasue it has some value so can't be thrown away. Then keep it in unsuitable conditions for decades, probably turning down numerous offers to buy them. When totally rotten let them go.
