Just to clear things up firstly it's not my car and secondly it's being restored the owner has alot of restored cars and it's just wating for it's turn.
Before you all comment it’s not on all 8 I’m fully aware. Please bear in mind I’d taken a week off from a busy schedule to accommodate Sheldon . Help him when i could with his ambulance and just get this running with no cleaning plugs for he could film it running
Oh that engine 😍 even though its running like a bag of spaners it still sounds good. I would love to have that put into a daimler 250 ( mk 2 jag shape) if it would fit?
That wasn't running on all cylinders, sounds like a bag of spanners. How you can say that was running smooth! As usual unless you can do most of the work yourself your looking at thousands to get that looking half presentable, especially if it's going to be a wedding car. The front and rear bumpers alone will cost over £2000 the pair, unless it's going to be a rub down and a silver paint job.
Yes it does have a missfire but it's not my car it's owner by a car colector friend of mine who has over 30 restored cars and this is next in line I did say it's not mine....
@@classic_britain I didn't say it was your car, I just commentated on how bad it was running. Play back the first start sequence and you can hear something is not right, either stuck valves that aren't closing or something worse. A compression test would be something I would consider doing.
To restore that properly is going to cost an awful lot of money. Likely that the restoration might cost more than its worth. Its only running on 5 cylinders........................lol
@classic_britain Has he done much restoration work? It was almost certainly running on 5 cylinders as the plugs had got wet and earthed out. Removing them and heating with a blow lamp sorts that. It's due to shite modern fuel. Always better to start things with easy start or brake cleaner as that won't wet the plugs and earth them out.
Think some need to remember on here I’d taken a week off from a busy schedule to accommodate Sheldon help him when i could with ambulance and get cars running

Aren’t they all.
Why are people whining about how it runs? It's amazing it runs at all, considering the age and rarity.

Yes you can put the 4.5 in the 2.5 cars
Sadly a lot of these big Daimlers have ended up on the banger track even very recently
Not on all 8
Yes true
@@classic_britain that's why one side of exhaust was smoking
So guess it's right hand bank not firing properly
