    Ok, the recipe looks fantastic, but I’ve just got to commend you on the way you presented it. The shots, subtle use of zoom and slow panning, and the choice of music combined to create a very relaxing and appealing experience. Thanks for taking the time to go beyond the utilitarian into the artistic.

    So everyone is saying they will make it but then there is no response, so I made it. First be ready to stir stir stir, while that cornstarch cook it takes constant kneading it with firm spatula. So you have to put some elbow grease in these. I ended with sore arm. Then the mass has to be rolled in to balls while it is hot. Get ready for some palm burns. If you do it later it will all crumble. And finally the taste. It tastes good. I would advise to put at least 20g of sugar. They are chewy and cling to your mouth at first so for me that part was unpleasant, but then it dissolves and the taste is pleasant. Nothing spectacular practically vanilla pudding.

    In the Philippines, if to be sold commercially, they use cornstarch but if to be sold in famous pastry shops, they use powdered milk. We call it pastillas. If powdered milk, it's not cooked. Just mix the ingredients then form into desired shapes.

    I made these and it’s very easy! Followed the recipe’s ingredients and added pink food coloring. It takes a while, I’d say around 5 minutes of medium-high heat, before it started clumping. I kept going at it and kept stirring until i had a solid, sticky mass after which I took it off the stove and let it cool down a bit. I took quite some time forming the balls (I used a spoon to scoop some up and measured 20g which wasn’t very efficient) and it worked great. I coated the balls in very fine coconut flakes, it sticks pretty well. Honestly, I think it could do with some more sugar and vanilla as it tastes quite boring and its also pretty sticky, but my pink coconut milk balls at least looked very ✨kawaii✨
    It took maybe 30 minutes from start to finish, including cleaning up :)

      "Sprinkle with cocoa powder" seems to be some big, hipster thing to do. I think whoever started doing this meant to use actual chocolate. Because, as you found out, cocoa powder by itself is quite bitter.
      Anytime I see a recipe doing something like this, I automatically say in my head: add an equal amount of cinnamon-sugar. *NOW* you've got the taste your eyes want. ;)

    These remind me of the balls that are at the Chinese buffet ever since I was young. I used to be scared to try them because I'm a very picky eater and I literally sit and disect my food before I eat it. I thought they looked weird and they had a funny feeling texture. Grew up and they were great when I tasted them. They're tan balls, with the sesame seeds on top and they have brown mushy stuff on the inside and it is delicious!. They sort of taste like sesame seeds ground up like mixed with sugary taste. Dang I can taste them right now I want them!

    I do it with 3 ingridients(the turkish way)
    First step: you get constarch,it should be about half cup and them you pour it into a pan
    Seceond step:I put half cup or lesser sugar than that (you can put any amount but I preffer to put half cup
    Third step: get one cup of milk and pour it into the pan (can be any milk)
    Fourth step: i use a soft spatula to miz everything i leave it for some rime so that the mottom part can cook easily (dont do this u need to keep stiring or you will have lumps)
    Fifth step: when it rurns into a dough i use the spatula to kneed it so that it can have a mochi like feel and taste better without lumps then i let it cool down and get small parts and roll them up to a circle just like how the person in the video did
    No problem! This is how you do it the turkish way!
    Tip:when you add the cocoa powder inside the mixture when it starts boiling it will bi like chocolate truffles! Deffinitely try it,they taste awesome!

    We have a similar recipe in our family, but we use some ricotta cheese in making the balls, shallow fry them in clarified butter, and then soak in sugar syrup

    • @nadiersatz3852
      @nadiersatz3852 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's far from being similar if you use different ingredients and fry it instead of cooking it in a pan

    • @meganbessenbacher7107
      @meganbessenbacher7107 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @nadiersatz3852 in America, we have a lot of foods that have a fried or not fried version, including cheesecake, which is often made with different types of cheese or cream.
      So, for me, they are very similar recipes.
      I am very poor and disabled so I have had neither, but I have seen them and smelled the fried ones 🤤

    Faço com leite em pó, açúcar de confeiteiro e leite de coco. É só misturar tudo, não precisa ir ao fogo, e depois fazer as bolinhas. Pode passar no coco ralado ou no açúcar de confeiteiro para dar acabamento.

    This is “Masghati”, an old recipe from IRAN. It has different flavors such as milk, rose, saffron and others. The actual origin is from Masghat, the capital of Oman and 200 years ago brought to Iran and called it masghati and probably spread to the rest of Middle East but I’m not sure they still make that in Oman or what flavors do they have.
