INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED
100g glutinous rice flour
30g cornstarch
30g granulated sugar
180g milk
20g unsalted butter
Filling:
250g heavy cream
15g granulated sugar
Strawberries
Oreo crumbles
HOW TO MAKE MOCHI
1. Mix glutinous rice flour, cornstarch, granulated sugar and milk until smooth. Sift once, cover it with plastic wrap, prick some holes on the plastic wrap, and steam until fully cooked (about 20-30 minutes). Or you can microwave it until fully cooked (about 4 minutes).
2. After it is cooked, mix the butter in or beat the butter in using the stand mixer. Beat until it can form a ball. Or you can mix the butter in with a spatula and when the dough is cool to touch, knead into a ball. Wrap the dough ball with plastic wrap, and set the dough ball in the fridge to cool for 1 hour.
3. In another bowl, beat heavy cream and sugar until thickened. Set aside. Wash and chop the strawberries into small cubes. Set aside. Crush some Oreo, set aside. You can take any fruits you like as filling.
4. Take the dough ball out, knead and divide into equal pieces. Roll each piece into a flat round piece. Put in whipped cream and strawberry cubes or Oreo crumbles. Wrap it up, and put in a cupcake liner and serve.

I just made it today. It was sooo delicious & stretchy. Exactly what i want. Here are some changes that I’ve made.
- I steamed it cos I feel like the microwave is a bit hard to control & steamed for 10’ or some around there.
- I used potato starch cos I ran out of cornstarch.
- I misread the butter amount & pretty sure added like 30- 40’ gram into the dough :))).
- Didn’t have enough starch during the shaping so I just used tad more butter & its very elastic & quite difficult to mold it so I suggest you guys use saran wrap so it’s easier to transfer & store individually in the fridge.
- I used whipped cream with some mascarpone & ate one after giving 5-7’ in the fridge & it was so delicious. Not sure abt the rest of the batch are goin to be harder as I used a bit more butter than the recipe called for but for now it’s a 10/10. Def recommend.

@@aseltoregul57 Hello, I use Cubie Oven to steam it for 15' but you can use regular bamboo steamer or stove or microwave to cook it. Hope it helps

CARA MEMBUAT MOCHI
1. Campur tepung beras ketan, tepung maizena, gula pasir, dan susu hingga halus. Ayak sekali, tutup dengan plastik pembungkus, tusuk beberapa lubang pada plastik pembungkus, dan kukus hingga matang sepenuhnya (sekitar 20-30 menit). Atau Anda dapat memanaskannya dalam microwave hingga matang sepenuhnya (sekitar 4 menit).
2. Setelah matang, campurkan mentega atau kocok mentega menggunakan stand mixer. Kocok hingga dapat membentuk bola. Atau Anda dapat mencampur mentega dengan spatula dan saat adonan dingin saat disentuh, uleni hingga menjadi bola. Bungkus adonan dengan plastik pembungkus, dan simpan adonan dalam lemari es hingga dingin selama 1 jam.
3. Dalam mangkuk lain, kocok krim kental dan gula hingga mengental. Sisihkan. Cuci bersih dan potong stroberi menjadi kubus kecil. Sisihkan. Hancurkan beberapa Oreo, sisihkan. Anda dapat menggunakan buah apa pun yang Anda suka sebagai isian.
4. Keluarkan adonan, remas dan bagi menjadi potongan yang sama. Gilas setiap potongan menjadi potongan bulat pipih. Masukkan krim kocok dan kubus stroberi atau remah Oreo. Bungkus, dan masukkan ke dalam wadah cupcake dan sajikan.

В средине крем, против сухой начинки я тоже против, скорее всего это какая-то крошка типа орео, очень опасная штука - ребёнок укусит и в дыхательное горло, я добавляю ягодный джем. ТЕсто рисовое действительно странное, у меня после вымешивания с маслом, при соблюдении грамовок и типа рисовой муки превратилось в клейстер, лучше и дальше буду делать моти по своему рецепту, для того, чтобы этот получился нужно много больше подробностей.

I dunno if it’s the flour I’m using or it’s not suited for a taro filling but this is OK at best. Seeing as you’re using it for sweet filling, I’m guessing it’s the later. I hope it’ll be a different story when I try out an egg custard filling

Butter and dairy products are not used in traditional recipes-which are zero fat (unless you add fat to the filling).
I was about to say, so I would love to try mochi one day, but when I saw the butter (which was a European invention) I was thinking this can't be a traditional Japanese recipe (either that or mochi can't be a very old traditional food). But then I saw your comment and I guess this must be a modern improvised/updated version.
@@ecclesiaxxi6210 traditional mochi is made with glutinous rice, not rice flour. I’ve seen a lot of people make original mochi at home by mixing cooked glutinous rice in a stand mixer which replicates the pounding of the rice which is how it’s done originally. You can also just pound it with a rolling pin if you don’t have a stand mixer though 😊😊

yes as said in the name, for the stretchy texture you need glutinous rice flour.But if you have Japanese rice flour which is already sticky and glutinous, it's okay .
