@eivormusic What a stunning voice and enthralling performance! I am so happy to have legends like this on the channel! @TheLastKingdomTV #eivor #live #reactions #kingdom
Having watched The Last Kingdom half a dozen times (maybe more) this songs reminds me of so many scenes - some beautiful and many of them heart breaking. If you like Vikings or similar historic drama go watch it. It's SO good. If you do a full on The Last Kingdom reaction per episode, I'd totally watch that. John Lunn is the original Soundtrack composer for the show and Eivor lent her voice to the soundtrack to co-wrote with him. He's also done the soundtrack to Downton Abby as well as The Walking Dead and some other big shows.
This song you'll hear in very emotional scenes in The Last Kingdom! Really worth watching, for me the best series out there and Eivør is one reason for it! She is so special ❤️
There's definitely something deep down in my DNA that connects so vividly and viscerally to Eivor when she sings in this ancient, traditional style. She's absolutely incredible when performing her more modern, English language music, but this traditional style affects me down to my core. Genetic memory is a real thing!
The amount of vocal and musical techniques this lady has studied and still managed to hold onto her own unique style, its amazing. Also, here is a somewhat accurate pronunciation for the title: leaf’s-try-der
i knew it was this song! good choice, she tells stories of epic dimensions without even saying a single word, carrying ages and centuries in her voice. next eivør reaction please "wake me up" live at rtt when she forgets to be human. and please PLEASE helen sjöholm, du måste finnas with english subtitles taken from kristina från duvemåla. i have her face, her expressions and her intense vocals in my head for two weeks now.
The title of the song translates to Threads of life. Roughly Livs is Life's, and Trædir is threads. The title refers to the Norns, or the spinners, who are the fates/destiny in norse mythology. The spinners weave the tapestry of fate and everyone has their own thread,. The short lyrics are from the Faroese saga..
I have heard bits and pieces of Eivor - always impressed, think it’s time to dive in fully - I am off to check for European tour dates … thanks again for sharing this ❤
The series and also the soundtrack of "The Last Kingdom" are great. John Lunn composed the music for the series. There is a video on Eivør's channel where they stream this song live together. THE LAST KINGDOM | Eivør & John Lunn - Lívstræðrir (live from home) - th-cam.com/video/mSwHRMxtnEY/w-d-xo.html Eivør also made music for the game "God of War" with composer Bear McCreary. Eivör is a m a z i n g. I saw her show in Oslo a couple of years ago... here's two links - one with the Danish Radio orchestra and the other with her own band. Yo! Bud. I would look pretty dang stupid without my ears now. My smile would definitely have done a complete 360 if not. I'm happy that it wasn't ME on the cam. Please do more reactions to Eivør, she is amazing. And she is my 3rd favorite female singer after Angelina and Aurora. I wrote that last part more or less as a little wink to @soleywolfgangsdottir 😁 Have a great, legendary weekend! Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
You should definitely check out Kalandra, if you like lovely women’s voices.. The band is called Kalandra, the singers name is Katrine and both the band and her are awesome!!
For another great Eivør live performance of a song sung in English please do try ‘True Love’ (2012) - th-cam.com/video/R4HgBwvmn-s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SMYfuvuXv3_7SQt6
A Lyre. John composed this melody on it and then Eivor composed the lyrics and vocals over it. But it all started with the Lyre. The entire Soundtrack is just two people, him and her making every sound. It's epic.
In English the title is simply 'Life(s)threads'. Faroese is just a nordic language, and is therefore not far from the Scandinavian/English/German languages.
a new language now i should say Irish be a great one to be fair im not a fluent Irish speaker i only have a cupla focal {coopla f*ckil ) a couple of words and phrases from learning it in school donkey years ago now so if u did learn it u be teaching me also :)
Actually, Germanic languages still share a lot of similarities. The title of this song is levensdraden or Levensdraad in Dutch (Low Frankish), Eivør is the best female folk singer in Europe if not the world. Certainly when it comes to Germanic ones, Myrkur was great but makes bullshit music now
John Lunn is an Emmy Award winning Soundtrack composer. Every sound on the soundtrack is made by the two of them working together over 5 years.
No other musician touches my soul as Eivør.
Are there other musicians are there? I forgot.
So ethereal, haunting and unique.
What a Nordic Goddess.
Eivør is one of the best musicians vocally.
🇫🇴🇫🇴🇫🇴
The best I would say. Can't think of anyone else who can do what she can do. Her pitch is perfect.
The soundtrack for tlk is a character of its own.
She's just out of this world ❤❤❤
More Eivør please 💚
yes!!!
The song was 10 sec old and I got goosbumps. Her singing style is absolut unique.❤

Spoiler alert..... I believe this song is from the scene when the main character find his child is dead & finds his grave.
Or maybe when the witch saves King Alfred's son.
