Great video! I have found that the easiest way to clean the honeycomb is to put it in my tub/shower and spray it down with LA Awesome. It's available at Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar General for $1.25 a bottle. I let it sit for 10ish minutes, get the water piping hot and use the shower head to spray it down. I do that one more time and it's as good as new. No scrubbing required!
Very informative since I had a different laser company reach out to me wanting to send me their laser so I could do a video review. I’ve been trying to watch a few videos to see what laser engraving is all about.
I think there is a phone app that will let you photo the laser bed and bring that into XCS. I think XCS will then automatically place your art on each of the items not matter if they're aligned with each other or not. Thanks for how thorough this video is.
Thanks for watching! You are correct and I’ve used the app and stickers from xTool (you can also print them yourself at no cost) to use your phone as a camera for positioning on the laser. It does work pretty well, but for me it became unnecessary and was too slow as I really like the positioning available on the S1 without that feature.
Great question and I was baffled by that same thing when I was getting started with it. The diode laser on the S1 doesn’t cut or engrave metal at all. Even if I put in the 2W IR laser which can engrave metal, the focus distance is the tight the and power so low that it wouldn’t even mark the honeycomb. The first time I used the laser to cut wood I nearly freaked out once I saw the beam going through the wood and potentially hitting the metal base, haha!
Best video I've seen on this laser. Thanks for posting, mine gets here Monday!
Glad to hear it! Enjoy the new machine.

Using the tub is a great idea, thanks for sharing! I haven’t been able to find anything at home big enough to soak it, but the tub is perfect!
Extremely helpful with your tips!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

Thanks Gary, I'm happy to hear it was helpful! It's an interesting tool, that's for sure.

Great video but would you go with S1 40w or Falcon pro and I am considering the P2👍🏻
Great question! I’d go S1 40W with a bundle that has the 2W IR laser as well. The xTool XCS software is so much easier to use than Lightburn.
Why does the laser not cut into the honeycomb backing?
