I would add another reason to play the game solo: if you're a Slay the Spire enthusiast like me (as of now 900 hours in the vg game and 50 in the board game), seeing how board game cards differ from the game ones can be quite refreshing. Some cards had to be changed because they wouldn't work well in the board game, but they changed them well enough: for example, Rampage for the Ironclad can't grow in power every time you play it like the game, but here it deals damage equal to the cards you have exhausted during the match. This creates new strategies an advanced vg player could find fun.
Oh, and they fixed a lot of cards for the Watcher: it's quite known that character has some broken and infinite builds in the game, but here it is more rounded and fair how it plays.

Thank you for that perspective on solo play! It's good to know that the board game is a satisfying and enjoyable experience. We weren't sure.
Didn't realize that the Watcher was broken, but remembering back to some of our vg plays, we did have some easier play-throughs with that character over others.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hey there! I wanted to come and see this video for 2 reasons. First, I enjoy your videos, but second, to let you know that I am moving to Wyoming from Florida. I'm gonna listen to this video as I continue to pack my bags. Sorry I have been absent for such a long time but I've not had a lot of time for TH-cam for the past few months. Typical excuse, LOL! I've been a caretaker for an ill family member but I am finally heading back out on my own. When I land somewhere and get off the road (I'm doing a long bicycle ride) I hope to be visiting your content on a more regular basis once again.
And wow, that's a big box for a single player game.

Hey, no worries! Life is crazy busy. We haven't been able to keep up with social media much this year due to a lot of things pulling us in different directions. I hope your move goes smoothly and life gets better for you!
And it's not a single player game, it's a 1-4 player game. The co-op play is the main reason we wanted to get this, as you'll hear once you get a chance to listen to the video. ☺

@@RollingWithTwo Thanks for the clarification on it being a co-op. I enjoyed the video quite a lot but for I guess I just heard something wrong. Anyway, my flight is tomorrow. Hopefully I'll talk to you before too long, here in the comments!

Sounds like they did a nice job with this overall, even if they omitted an important rule. LOL! Very much enjoyed the review, as always.

Yes, overall, it was very well done! But it goes to show how important blind playtesting of your near-finished rules & game is! Someone who hasn't played the video game would have found that mistake quite quickly! Thanks for watching!

Please tell me a single game where the rules tell you to reset a game to the start.

A lot of campaign/narrative games tell you how to reset to start the game over. Slay The Spire is built a little more like a campaign game than a "normal" one-play game. Though, people could keep playing with modified decks with each game if they want to, but it might become unbalanced at some point.
