  • In this video I am going to share with you how to boost dopamine.
    I will cover what dopamine is, symptoms of low dopamine, and which nootropic supplements are best for increasing your dopamine levels.
    Dopamine is one of three catecholamine neurotransmitters. With the help of various enzymes and cofactors, it also contributes to the synthesis norepinephrine and epinephrine (noradrenaline).
    Dopamine is linked to feelings of pleasure and euphoria. It’s also critical for appetite, reward processing, short-term memory, creativity, attention, body movement, and motivation.
    Epinephrine and norepinephrine act to increase alertness and attention.
    Dopamine deficiency symptoms include apathy, fatigue, feeling hopeless, can’t complete tasks, can’t concentrate, or can’t connect with others.
    Feelings of pleasure allude you. No motivation, poor libido, memory loss, mood swings, procrastination, insomnia, and possibly addictions.
    If any of this rings true for you, watch this video and learn how to easily increase dopamine levels in your brain.

    Hey David, Thanks for disabling comments on the Iodine video. Iodine deficiency is a worldwide epidemic. My mind, body and soul has had immense positive transformation by taking 50mg of lugol's iodine with 400 mcg selenium and 340mg magnesium every morning. 50 mg is truly the "maintenance dose" in my opinion. I remember there were a lot of negative comments on that video trying to hide the truth. Please keep preaching and thanks for all your help!

      Rakesh, many respected natural health practitioners would disagree with you. And tell you that 50 mg Iodine long-term can be toxic.
      But one thing I've learned over the years is each of us is different and has a unique body chemistry. So what is too much of something for me may be fine for you and vice versa.
      When it comes to something as important and critical our health as iodine even 1 mg per day every single day would improve the health of countless people around the world who get zero iodine in their diet.

    Hi love the videos and info you share to us all, was just wondering why when taking l tyrosine i feel the beneficial Benefits it is known for and feel like my old self but after a day or two of using I no longer feel them, as tho it’s stopped working. Then if i stop for several days and start taking them again I feel it’s Benefits again and then disappear? From doing an organic acid test I know I have low sulfur and glutathione levels so not sure if this would have anything to do with this?

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      James, how much L-Tyrosine are you using? Because what you are experiencing is not a common side effect.
      L-Tyrosine is a precursor to the synthesis of dopamine. But it only lasts for 3 - 4 hours before the excess is excreted.
      And L-Tyrosine requires Vitamins B6, B19 and B12 as cofactors to make dopamine.

Also some info on melanin and its antioxidant role would be cool. I heard melanin can chelate metals out the brain. I'm recovering from heavy metal toxicity.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark, superoxide dismutases (SODs) are a group of enzymes that defend against reactive oxygen species (ROS). But using it as a nootropic supplement would not be very helpful as far as I can tell. It does seem to be effective in skin cosmetics however.

    Hi David, I would like to know if l - tyrosine would be considered a dopamine agonist? And if not what supplement is considered a dopamine agonist, thanks.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HM, I suppose you would consider Tyrosine a dopamine "agonist" because as a precursor it contributes to the synthesis of new dopamine in your brain.
      If you asked for a dopamine receptor agonist you would get a different answer because tyrosine needs to be turned into dopamine before it can affect a dopamine receptor.

    What are your thoughts on synergistic effects of l tyrosine and ginkogo for motivation and concentration who is suffering with low dopamine?

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Suyash, Ginkgo Biloba should boost the effects of L-Tyrosine because it acts like an MAOI. But dopamine is just one part of the motivation puzzle. You need to activate AMPA receptors which in turn activates the dopamine/reward/motivation pathway in your brain. As explained in this video: th-cam.com/video/wQvmdJTiliE/w-d-xo.html

  • @stephencarlsbad

    Intra-nasal L-tyrosine is huge for increasing dopamine. And you don't need a lot, in fact, you need far less compared to taking L-Tyrosine orally and the effects of intranasal L-tyrosine are almost immediate. I started with 5 mg and worked my way up from there.

    • @NootropicsExpert

      I like Life Extension as a company because they've been doing some great research for decades. But not sure about this supplement. Oat Straw extract acts like a MAOI which releases more dopamine in your brain. But it does not 'increase' physical levels of dopamine. To increase dopamine in your brain better to use L-Tyrosine.

      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Rui, Mucuna Pruriens contains L-DOPA which is a direct precursor to the synthesis of dopamine.
      I think what people often miss is that with "direct precursors" there is no wiggle room. No forgiveness if you get the dose wrong.
      AND Mucuna Pruriens is offered in several different strengths of extract containing different amounts of L-DOPA. So, it is impossible to recommend a specific dosage.
      L-Tyrosine is easier to dose and more forgivable.
      L-DOPA is prescribed for Parkinson's Disease.

      Kessd, Mind Lab Pro like any supplement is not going to work for everyone. Many do benefit by using this pre-made stack which is why they've sold well over 1 million bottles since it was launched in 2015.
      But if it worked for everyone I would imagine their sales would be much higher than that.

    My dopamine levels are low but when I take L tyrosine my hyperpigmentation flares up as tyrosine helps in melanin production . What other choice do I have

      Neris, you could try Phenylalanine which is one step back from Tyrosine for making dopamine and see if that works. th-cam.com/video/UYsqlYVtbQ8/w-d-xo.html

    Selective dopamine reuptake inhibitors such as Modafinil, Armodafinil or Oroxylin A/Sabroxy should work best.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peace Guard, none of those "smart drugs" make dopamine in your brain. All they do is force the existing dopamine in your brain to by more available one way or another. They are NOT precursors.

    • @Peace_Guard
      @Peace_Guard 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NootropicsExpert That's correct. I simply don't think that "boosting dopamine" is only limited to precursors. I've listed reuptake inhibitors as I think they're a viable option. Reuptake inhibition is known to be a relatively least tolerance-inducing mechanism, as compared to for example releasing agents or enzyme inhibitors. And the ones I mentioned are known for little side effects. So I don't disagree with what you say, i just think there's more to the topic of dopamine boosting.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends on your definition of "boosting dopamine". If it means making new dopamine in your brain only precursors can do that. If you mean making existing dopamine already in your brain more available then you are correct.

      @@skookum86 You need a Mucuna extract that is as potent as you can find. Because most are only 20 - 30%. This is one of the few available right now that works well for others dealing with Parkinson's: amzn.to/2RL68Bl.
      You can take it with L-Tyrosine as well. Not sure how much additional benefit you'll get but it doesn't hurt to try.
      Keep your 5-HTP in reserve because you may need it to raise serotonin. Remember that increasing dopamine suppresses serotonin. And you need both function properly.

      Daniel, I did not say bananas have a high protein content. I suggest listening more closely to what I did say. You'll find a small amount of L-Phenylalanine and L-Tyrosine but not enough to increase your dopamine levels if all you ate were bananas.
