    There's little information on how modafinil works - it is a DRI, but it's an exceptionally weak one. There's a 7% increase in extracellular dopamine (amphetamines can be up to 600%, for reference). Labeling modafinil as a DRI and dismissing it because it ever so slightly increases dopamine is incredibly reductive and while factual, untruthful.

    • @SebastianCamposTech

      For even more context, food rewards increase extracellular dopamine by over 35% - so if modafinil is a DRI, so is food. PMID: 3362036, DOI: 10.1523/JNEUROSCI.4759-10.2011, DOI: 10.3389/fncir.2013.00152

My job demands it, being on call 24/7/365 and never going to sleep or work at the same time twice. Adderall initially, works wayyyyyy better. Much stronger, but after 4, 5, 6 days of it, you don't get that same "hit". I find Provigil and Nuvigil to be much better in that area, meaning I can take it daily for awhile and I still get results. Also, Adderall, being an amphetamine, is physically addicting and you will notice withdrawal if you take it for awhile and stop. Never felt any withdrawal from stopping Provigil or Nuvigil.

No time off, work every weekend, holiday, always gone from family, miss all your childrens games, birthdays, etc.... For most, by year 2 or 3, the same new hires that said "OMG. This is great", now quit and say "you can't pay me enough to work this job'. We don't get paid because we work especially hard. We get paid for the miserable lifestyle and the toll it takes on your health. Stims like Addy taken at therapeutic (rather than recreational) doses are habit forming but otherwise relatively safe. In people with ad(h)d they affect the production and uptake of neurotransmitters in a manner that makes it possible for ADHD brains to function more like normal people's.
      TLDR: It's not going to massacre your braincells or anything. Just don't abuse it. Take the minimum you need to fix your problem. Be aware that taking stims for long and suddenly stopping will cause withdrawals. Good luck and godspeed

      There are some legal paths pharmaceutical companies can take to influence doctors but they're too indirect to work like that.
      Of course it's good to be skeptical and there's always the possibility of secret illegal deals but you gotta be realistic. Would a huge pharma company that's going to make money no matter what really risk that just to get a couple more customers from each clinic? It's not like sick people are in short supply.

      Please don't listen to this clown, go see a psychiatrist. It could be chronic depression , ADHD , SCT , Aspergers syndrome, all of which can be very subtle, but the hard times add up over time and give you this sense of demotivation. They will run a few tests on you, and MRIs are usually a good indicative of neuro-divergence, that in turn prevents you from studying. After that you'll have to take a few tests to try and narrow down the search and then finally get a diagnosis. It can be a lengthy process but mental health should always everyone's be the #1 priority. Good luck!

      @@coled1218 that's a good question. I take a medical dose because I have autoimmune issues. Which is about 6 pea size pieces twice a day. The pound is hard as a rock. And the stuff on amazon is a resin. I mix the resin in my coffee and I take the rocks like pills followed by a 20oz glass of distilled or spring water. Fulvic acid in shilajit doesn't mix well with chlorine so do not use tap water. But my girl and I both take it. And I noticed after 1 week of her taking it she was waking up in a good mood for the first time ever...

    • @Joes7179
      @Joes7179 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@coled1218 I can even break it down how it works. Shilajit is 60-70% fulvic acid. Fulvic acid is the final form of decomposing organic matter. Hence why pesticides, herbicides and germicides are horrible for our crops. Because they don't let the fungus and mold grow and break down the organic material. And then the dirt doesn't make any of these good acids that we need to transport minerals and nutrients into our body. So we can add minerals out the ass to the soil and they have no way of making it into our body. And if they do make it into our body through supplements we have no way of absorbing these supplements without humic, humus and fulvic acids. Fulvic acid is a micro nanoparticle that can penetrate any cell in the body. It can carry 70 times it's molecular weight into a cell and puts the nutrients where it needs to go. Without fulvic acid we are most likely mineral deficient.
