    Tony Rolando will one day go down into the annals of synth history next to Bob Moog and Don Buchla.

    I like to take a peek inside the HQs of the makers. Make Noise is an American treasure. I hope they keep killin it.

    ~ As I perceive I can only conjure some associations - charming, genuine... profound. The designs themselves invoke rather unique approaches to making/exploring this big universe that music is and that's the best part about them. Passionate/dedicated/true people behind it all? That goes hand in hand and produces this ultimate feeling of joy and clarity, fun results whenever I use some of them. Thank you! ~ :-)

    Tony makes a good observation here. The internet is still really new. It’s really come a long way regarding the volume of information that is available out there. I wonder if he likes to preserve the past out of a respect he has for the pioneers, or more to do with the functions in particular? I love my maths, and I like make noise. I sometimes wonder if I’m doing myself a disservice by getting into the modular gear. Computers are sort of mundane things, but I don’t have a lot of time. Make Noise is really not your ordinary run of the mill stuff, analogous to Tony’s Subotnik album. I’m happy that they enable artists to get outside the box (& CV control over every parameter!), really enabling musical deviations and keeping that idea as their aesthetic. Super Cool!!

    Im so blessed to be able to craft sounds on the MN modules. You can tell they are built with passion and the build quality has no match in the eurorack domain imho

    I can't imagine what genius technician someone must be to go from the initial interest and reading books in the library to invent and build stuff like make noise, also the business side. Out of this world for me. I solder Guitar FX from time to time and work on ONE guitar tube am that is not finished after ten years now.

      MIKE LEE BIRDS lusted after one for 5 years. Stumbled upon the make noise system on accident when randomly watching TH-cam vids. I must have watched every vid they had posted 100 times. After I finished university and had a couple years of work under my belt I pulled the trigger and bought the CV Bus System. This was before black and gold and before erbeverb was part of the system. So I got mine around 3 years ago. And since have that and a 12u live techno case. I use the Shared System as its own instrument in isolation from everything else for sonic exploration and making noise. I adore it.
      Such a well designed “instrument” and not just a case of modules. If money is an issue the Pittsburgh Modular Voltage Lab and the Endorphines shuttle system are also great west coast systems but far less expensive.

    Oh man I so badly want all of the Make noise stuff in that system...I think I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t own a maths. I have 9U of 84hp and not a single make noise module🤦🏽‍♂️ whenever I can afford to buy modules again I have to rethink how I plan and build :/

    • @yongamusic
      @yongamusic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthew savant No worries, you are not alone in not owning a Maths. I want one, though. It‘s just that other modules keep creeping up on me..

    That's not really a behind the scenes. It's 90% talking heads. Behind the scenes is looking behind the curtains. What does it look like when they're not in performance mode. This is def performance (sales) mode.
