    I was at one time trying to decide on a system. And once I saw the Make Noise documentary and Tony was telling his story. Presenting his vision. I thought to myself “ that’s what I want to support, these guys get it”. And so basically my first modular was the Black and Gold Shared System. Thank you for sharing your vision in such a beautiful way with the world, Tony…

    This is such a wonderful interview. Great questions, never boring and overall very friendly. It makes listening a lot of fun. A big thank you to Tony for sharing his ideas and insights. And I have to say: his ideas work on me.

    One day in 1996, in highschool I asked my friend, "how do they make techno?" and he said Best thing I ever heard in my life: "well, they have these machines"

    It was a difficult process creating the Strega... however I wish there were more collaborations with artists for unique synths like it. So far the Strega has had the most instantaneous artistic gratification of any piece of digital equipment yet.

      @@SynthuxAcademy in my opinion your interviews can still work well in audio form only. Speaking as an avid podcast listener and producer too. I realize there is some important visual content but still lots of good discussion. Best of luck though. I’ll be watching more of your channel :)

    Why, oh why, oh why, oh why ...... didn't they make these things (Strega, 0-Coast, 0-Control) easily Eurorackable?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes NO fucking sense what so ever!! They made them the right size (3U), just to piss us off that bit more. And, the final insult, was the power connector ............... on the SIDE of the fucking things!! No that back. THE SIDE!!!! CHRIST!! :-/

  • @AnalogDude_
    @AnalogDude_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    why do Americans threat their CEO's like leader of a SEKT?
    sure STO, DPO, Wooglebug where good but basically they where designed by other people, Like Don Buchla, Serge, he just adjusted the voltages to be compatible with eurorack,
    DPO was basicly Buchla's complex oscillator 259.
    STO was just one VCO of Buchlas complex oscillator 259.
    Maths was designed by Serge ( DUSG ) with minor changes.
    O.coast was good, but could have been better if he added 3,4 more ic's and have a 2 or 4 pole filter.
    sure, Tony Rolando as autodidact electronics engineer is impressive, basically homeless with a library as shelter, but stop threatening him like a god. the schematic are online, he just wraps in a new jacket.
    the later designs like Morphogene, ebte verb, etc, etc where spend out and not made by Make Noise.

      Jealous much!

    • @AnalogDude_
      @AnalogDude_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christopher_ecclestone why would i used the same schematics to build my modular, that's why in know and it's pretty normal that American companies sound a bit like a sekt, for instance Tesla, Porsche did that like more than 100 years ago, the Porsche Löhner and was 100 electric.
      CEO's of European companies never present their product this way, like a religion.

    Another great conversation, it was really interesting to hear more about how the artist's vision impacted on the 'usual' design and development processes. Also your introductions are not 'too long' but appreciated The thing about the Strega though is that to make full use of the touch plates I understand you have to have a well trained cat assisting, I bet Tony didn't mention that.

    • @SynthuxAcademy
      @SynthuxAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
