How timely that I stumbled upon this video, since the trial of Alex Murdaugh for murder is currently in progress. This reminds me of the OJ Simpson trial where the defense is stacked with the best lawyers. Thank you Dr Grande for your detail analysis and hopefully you will provide an update review of this trial.
Thanks for covering this. I've been following this case since Maggie and Paul were murdered. This case just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser. I live in the Lowcountry and I think this family has been drinking way too much marsh water. And just as a side note, we don't say things the way they're spelled because that would be too easy; Alex Murdaugh is actually pronounced as ALEC MURDOCK. I know, I don't get it either. Just a real deep-fried Southern Gothic novel unfolding before our eyes.
The Prosecution has not done a great job of presenting the case. Alex was fired because of theft of firm and of victims represented by firm. The fire arm used on Alex was a 22. Alex was not seriously injured. The Prosecution has not presented a clear timeline of events. Good chance the jury will hang. Court TV, Law and Crime are carrying the trial. Emily D Baker a legal commentator is carrying the trial .

Dr. Grande thanks for doing an analysis on this disturbing to everyone case. Reinforces my belief that just because someone is from a family that is a lot richer with old money that doesn't automatic mean their lives are a lot easier than mine is.
Money has ruined many lives and families. Leisure is dangerous for those without morals and self-control. And after you have driven a $250,000 car for six months, it's just your car.
Dr Grande- "...Because they're dead." Could I love this man anymore? I think not. (Proper use of ellipsis? 🙂) Another great video! Well Alex, if you're going to destroy a 100 year family legacy, do it to the best of your ability. Mission accomplished. I hope Buster gets the help and support he needs.
@@JustDr.S I know it's possible he was involved but I just don't think so. There isn't a shred of evidence to tie Buster to anything. Just because he's a part of that family doesn't make him guilty in my mind. If anything I would have to guess that dad and bro were ashamed that there was a rumored relationship between Buster and Stephen.
@@royalmichaels1289 I just wonder why it seemed to be so quietly and widely believed to be him immediately by so many people though. There are those that surely did not ALL have a true reason to assume his involvement beyond, like you said, merely being part of this family/assumptions based solely therein...but it's those that were close enough to him to be called in by state investigators, like the person in the short audio clip, that were scared and reluctant to even speak their name that definitely had me asking, well wait now why did they (the witness/one being questioned) not just rebuke the allegations right away about Buster, even if they had truly believed or even known him to be involved in Stephen's death? The reporting here that there were multiple or many people that acted this way, apprehensive to even speak his name one way or the other, is feeling idk sketchy at best. MAN! This case by case by case saga of this family is in a word: bonkers. Tragically and like neverending-ly bonkers.
@@1hawtMetz I love to hear from people like you who aren't afraid to look at the facts and put pieces to a story together and come to their own conclusion. The reasons folks do this imo is that they don't want to think for themselves. They just take anything they are told and accept it even when it doesn't make sense. Similar principle as when interviewing a suspect you never give them the chance to deny. Once you make that first leap into doesn't make sense then it's easier and easier to go down that path and make even bigger stretches. Imo, Buster is the living person suffering the most. I believe him to be different and that's probably part of what saved him from his family and from turning into them. I fully believe he is a victim.
I've listened to a lot of discussions of this story, but this one is the most amusing while still providing relevant information and clear analysis. Thanks!
Overly indulgent rich Daddy is overly protective of his self-important punk son, leading to horrific shotgun deaths of his family and taking a bullet (sort of). And now he's going to face REALLY BIG prison time. I bet he gets 20+ years just for what they've got on him so far. PERFECT!
“Having a intact head is important to survive.” Wow isn’t that a great truth! For mankind as well! Also having power often leads to abusing power! Both are why we must learn to correctly love ourselves to truth in one another! TT Dr Grande!
This has all the elements of the type of intrigue characteristic of a novel by Pat Conroy (Prince of Tides, The Great Santini, Lords of Discipline), though I suspect that even that venerable South Carolina writer could have come up with so many fascinating twists and turns in a story.
I really think this shows how damaging it can be when you try to 'protect' those close to you from the repercussions of their actions - as in most cases, preventing these repercussions (losing their job, going to jail etc) endangers them even more in the future as they are never forced to examine and change their ways, which can eventually lead to significant harm/death of themselves, or others Especially when this pattern of covering is repeated with each generation.
Great analysis Dr Grande . With some people, power and fame corrupts. I just hope those innocent people who were killed, gets the justice they deserve. Thank you Dr Grande, that was a brilliant topic.
Buster must be in hiding. After all, I personally believe Alex murdered his wife and son, Paul. I also believe Paul murdered Steven, and of course he was completely culpable for the death of Mallory.
Buster (real name Kevin) is the one suspected of killing Stephen Smith. They were friends, or something. So, all except the mom seem guilty of something or other.
Why do you believe Paul killed Steven? As noted in the video, there is no actual information about why Paul was suspected in the death of Steven, except that he was questioned. But why was he questioned? Was he questioned as part of a group, i.e., anybody who knew Steven? Or some other reason? And Paul seems like a person with no redeeming characteristics, and yet why did someone kill him and his mother? Was it in fact revenge for the death of the girl on the boat, or was there some other reason? And again, given his other unhinged behavior, it seems quite possible that Alex may have murdered his wife and Paul, but again, why? There seems not to be much information about motives in this case.

Dear Dr Todd, good analysis. Apart from the fact that use of illegal substances is harmful, as you mentioned, the use of so called legal intoxicats, like alcohol, is also harmful for the person using it and for the community. It has been extensively proved by scientific research and is also prohibited in ALL religions, including in original Christianity. It is causing millions of deaths, misery, crimes, lost healths and careers, broken marriages, welfare, and costing hundreds of billions in health bills and lost productivity.
No chance of bad blood getting into the Grande line! Imho, one of the reasons so many of us respect Dr G and his work is his inherent decency, it’s so comforting and inspiring in this troubled world. @@bthomson Ha ha ha...so very true.
Unfortunately opiate abuse/addiction and cocaine use is not uncommon in the legal profession. I was shocked to find out my best friend’s lawyer son was introduced to drug use in a well known “party group” of lawyers, judges and physicians…
Thank you for this Dr.Grande this family tree has shaken a few bad seeds out, I hope all the victims get justice .
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The sad part to me is that the Beach family has offered their condolences, even with having lost one of their own.
That is true class.
Very classy
The Beach family are good people. They have compassion.
Heartbreaking for the Beach family. I’m sorry for the loss of their beautiful daughter.
That's not sad, that's character. The Beach family has character and forgiveness.
The evidence is all circumstantial 🤷🏼♀️.
He was found guilty yesterday, too.
Its a year later. Hes on trial for his wife & son's murder. I'd love to read your thoughts thus far.
Irish
The Prosecution has not done a great job of presenting the case. Alex was fired because of theft of firm and of victims represented by firm. The fire arm used on Alex was a 22. Alex was not seriously injured. The Prosecution has not presented a clear timeline of events. Good chance the jury will hang. Court TV, Law and Crime are carrying the trial. Emily D Baker a legal commentator is carrying the trial .

This has been never ending here in SC. Just when you think you heard it all, more misdeeds come up. Alot of corruption going on here. You will probably have to update this weekly.
I love how quickly you get to the point and how calm you are during your presentation. Also, your subtle humor. It was Packed full of information in a short period of time as well as very interesting. Thank you
Dr. Grande thanks for doing an analysis on this disturbing to everyone case. Reinforces my belief that just because someone is from a family that is a lot richer with old money that doesn't automatic mean their lives are a lot easier than mine is.
Yep. Nor does it mean they automatically operate from a place integrity, dignity and compassion and, gratitude for their material largess.
Money has ruined many lives and families. Leisure is dangerous for those without morals and self-control. And after you have driven a $250,000 car for six months, it's just your car.
I look forward to the wit of Dr Grande possibly more than the subject matter. He just keeps such a straight face. Priceless! Keep it up 'Doc'.
I would love an update to this case after all that's been discovered during the trial 😳
Power and greed always has unhappy ending.
Great video Dr Grande as always!!!
Dr Grande- "...Because they're dead." Could I love this man anymore? I think not. (Proper use of ellipsis? 🙂)
Another great video!
Well Alex, if you're going to destroy a 100 year family legacy, do it to the best of your ability. Mission accomplished.
I hope Buster gets the help and support he needs.
Buster is the one who was thought to be involved in the car accident/shooting death of the young man, Stephen Smith.
Relationship? Like Stephen got Buster off a time or two by giving him a bj, and then treated him like a piece of crap
Love your rather biting humour. Gives me many chuckles!

Whenever addiction is involved, there is a lot of drama and secrets. Sometimes the drama is there to deflect..
Good point!
'On one occasion, when Timmy was present...' gets me every time! 😀
Overly indulgent rich Daddy is overly protective of his self-important punk son, leading to horrific shotgun deaths of his family and taking a bullet (sort of). And now he's going to face REALLY BIG prison time. I bet he gets 20+ years just for what they've got on him so far. PERFECT!
DC Kidd you predicted it correctly! Guilty with two consecutive life sentences.
“Having a intact head is important to survive.” Wow isn’t that a great truth! For mankind as well! Also having power often leads to abusing power! Both are why we must learn to correctly love ourselves to truth in one another! TT Dr Grande!
What the heck ????.....I'm going to have to watch this about 20 times to wrap my head around it !!
This has all the elements of the type of intrigue characteristic of a novel by Pat Conroy (Prince of Tides, The Great Santini, Lords of Discipline), though I suspect that even that venerable South Carolina writer could have come up with so many fascinating twists and turns in a story.
You are so right on with your comment!!!
Much like, "Who shot JR?"
Agree, Richard. I have been feeling the Prince of Tides motif for months!
Thank you for doing this...I live in SC and really have not heard much about this until the last month or so.
Not too surprising since cover up and power plays abounded!
@@bthomson There are so many different layers to these events and webs of lies. I hope everything can be solved and justice served.
Watch Eric Alan. He has amazing information on this case.
This case has so many twists!
Almost time for an update !!
This is one of the strangest recent cases... Like a web of knots caused by repeated coverups of continous crimes.
I really think this shows how damaging it can be when you try to 'protect' those close to you from the repercussions of their actions - as in most cases, preventing these repercussions (losing their job, going to jail etc) endangers them even more in the future as they are never forced to examine and change their ways, which can eventually lead to significant harm/death of themselves, or others
Especially when this pattern of covering is repeated with each generation.
But who killed the housekeeper?
I think Paul is suspected
Buster (real name Kevin) is the one suspected of killing Stephen Smith. They were friends, or something. So, all except the mom seem guilty of something or other.
Buster was seen leaving Edisto a day or two ago.
I heard of this recently, thank you for covering this, Dr. Grande. You make my day! 💜

Excellent analysis.Thank you Dr. Grande.
No chance of bad blood getting into the Grande line! Imho, one of the reasons so many of us respect Dr G and his work is his inherent decency, it’s so comforting and inspiring in this troubled world. I think many, if not most of us have lost all faith in those meant to represent, judge and entertain us; where generosity, compassion and honesty is vital, all we get is greed, selfishness and lies. It’s reassuring that so many love this channel and that it’s growing all the time; as well as testament to the incredible quality & Grande work ethic it maybe also shows that regular folks are, for the main part, good, if they’re drawn to a man who is carved out of integrity, intelligence and compassion.😭🖖
