It’s too bad we don’t have Tennessee Williams to write a screenplay. We have “Big Mama” (Maggie), “Big Daddy” (Alex), “Brick” (Paul), “Brother-Man” (Buster), Big Grandpa (deceased), some drunken Boat-girls and boys, high level lawyers, judges, bankers, and who knows what else. It could be much better than “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.”

This family...”cry for us because our pain is real. The pain we cause others, well, we’re rich so that doesn’t matter.” Absolute crocodile tears from the lot of them. They have the local cops wrapped around their finger and they’ve kept them from investigating cases they were involved in. Throw the cops in prison with the entire family.

Let’s not guess the motive. Unless you can read minds you are only speculating about what happened and why. Maggie may have been killed bc she threatened to expose Alex’s theft. Paul may have been an inconvenience, a witness that Alex couldn’t leave alive. Having done criminal cases longer than many have been alive, I know better than to guess why people do things bc people have all sorts of reasons.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I wouldn’t feel safe at all if those were the cops allegedly “keeping my city safe.” Every single one need to be investigated and charged accordingly, but we know that won’t ever happen. Such a generalization! However, I will say, that the cops and coroners and lawyers and etc. and etc. in THIS place are rife with corruption. - By the way, not just cops, but aren't guys like BIDEN and CO. give "promotions" for their corruption? Nothing touches the evil, these evil days.

With power should come checks, where are checks for police and how does the public get to enforce reprimands when those checks show bad behavior? Don't even get me started on IA, and the relationship between police and prosecutors. Why do we have the same people who need police to collect evidence and do investigations deciding whether or not to bring charges against criminal officers? Who thinks that isn't a conflict of interest? ...our justice system is broken and I want to see it addressed, that's all. I think addressing some of these issues will be great for good police and the community.

@@user-gj1me4mf5c Paul was let off facing his crimes when he was snuffed out. Alex, if he doesn't off himself, will be let off easy because of "his addiction".
Alex's thought process in insurance claims sure places major motive on him to have killed every person listed but Mallory. I allege he killed the maid with pure premeditated thoughts of his scam. He may have talked Paul into shoving her or Paul caught him shoving her. As with any young mind it ate at Paul and he was trying to kill himself in the boat or didnt care enough if he lived or not. Afterwards, a mother being a mother finally got it all out of Paul and confronted Alex at the ranch.
With that said. I find Michelle's comment to mean more on the lines of being let off during initial investigations. Granted, a family with their kind of generational culture should receive the benefit of the doubt just as much as others they should also be more fully investigated by outside sources if part of any felonious acts.
The fact you reused air quotes on a term used in air quotes but fail to see what the original air quotes represent is beyond any belief that Alex didn't kill any off them.

    Just a little FYI.
I'll begin with this. You may get away with much for a long, long time, but that does not mean you will get away with all you do forever. Such is the case with Alex Murdaugh.
Just this month, July, 2022, Alex Murdaugh was indicted on two counts of 1st degree murder. This is after having been previously charged with a number of felonies unrelated to the murder charges he faces now regarding the deaths of his wife and son. He has also been disbarred. It seems the chickens have come home to roost. This does not happen often, certainly not often enough when wealthy and/or powerful people are involved. Unchecked, the behaviors of such individuals almost always grows progressively worse. Often such people come to believe they can do as they damn well please and face zero consequences simply because they never have.

The only reason for someone to conjure such a story, would be to make it appear, someone was after the whole family. Including him! That would be because he is the one that killed his wife and son. They upheld the law - & presented the evidence as it was...AM wanted everything, he wanted the money he'd stolen, he wanted the sympathy for his wife & son, he wanted the nasty things to go away - even setting up another man to take the blame. Was gobsmacked that he gave his licence to practice & loss of income away.... so readily & ofcourse that was gonna happen but i think he believed that he'd "get over it " somehow bc thats what i believe...& not worried about $$ for his drugs, he's got plenty stached away..... we'll see i guess....
