You are barking mad with excitement, just adds more enthusiasm and entertainment to us addicts👍 Got a 268 here absolutely mint with less than 10 hours on it,I think I will leave it as a shelf queen though.
Such a good feeling when you get the spark there, looks like it'll be a great runner! I definitely need to get an ultrasonic cleaner! Thanks for putting these videos out! Love it
Can’t wait to hear it fire 🤞. I’ve just finished a 268 rebuild - been to near hell and back with it . Lots of woes due to worn out original carb . I actually now have a non OEM carb ( Nimtek off Amazon - slightly more expensive that no name carbs ) seems to be doing the job 😁. Really good saws , so much simpler to work on than some of the fiddly modern huskies .
HIYA, I have a 268xp that I put the big bore 72 kit in what a beast but since I retired haven't used it much , start it up once a year runs like new would love to take it to timber and see how well it really is , be safe cant wait to see yours running
Hey James, you'd be ok to put the plug in and check compression as the glue does not see combustion chamber pressure - the glue only sees crank case pressure (and it saw it when you are rolling the saw over checking for spark anyway)
@@walkerscountrylife that's a great question but one that a 2 stroke engine design engineer should answer. I would bet that it's less than 8-10 psi as that's all I can find for a recommended crankcase pressure test value...

Thanks man, yeah that's very true.. wonder what sort of pressure the crank gets to...
