Just tore down a 272xp serial #1380411, on the tag. I'm thinking it's a 2001. Replaced the crank, bearings and seals. New oil line, oil filter, pump and AV mounts. It's getting a new trigger assembly, clutch, mag, coil, top end, plug, filter, fuel line, fuel filter, the newer style gas cap, carb kit, new 20" bar and chain. I could be changing the carb in the end, the jury is still out on the carb. Still have to do the timing numbers and squish with the new top end. Maybe a base gasket delete. Basically a new saw. Definitely cleaning up the piston, chamfer all the edges and polishing the exhaust port. Not sure if I'm brave enough to do any real porting on the cylinder. I'll see where the numbers end up. It was basically a carcass, it was completely siezed, definitely a turd saw but it will be a shining knight when I'm done. Tinman, I'll send you a couple pic. Hey tinman, as I’ve gotten more experienced, I sort of like to use a wider ray of light…kind of like the intake since you can’t ray of light it if that makes sense. Is it more a method of consistency or does flow actually begin at first ray?
Rebuilt an ms360 and an ms210 between the two I used needle nose the bar remover wrench (has a flat blade and two socket sizes no clue what it’s actually called) and a t27 did a complete overhaul on both
what's a 266 or 268 worth after a meteor piston and a good break-in? i have both and 266 has a meteor, 268 is stock running but a bit low on compression. Which one should i sell off?
+++++++++Hello.Is it possible to install a cylinder and piston from 268 on a Husqvarna 66??I know the carburetor throat needs to be replaced.I would like to know if there are dimensions and width of the hole on the cylinder for installation same as on 66.Thank you for the answer and have a nice day.

Great video as always. Question for you TINMAN. What full wrap handle do you have there on that 268? Is it a modded handle off another Husqvarna?

The transfer ports are very similar to McCulloch transfers.

What's the difference in a 266se and the 266xp? I have owned both but never had them apart at the same time.
