  • Learn how to create beautiful heat embossing designs using the sketch pen function on the Silhouette Cameo! This sketch & heat embossing technique should work with any digital die cutting machine that has a sketch pen option, so Cricut users, this one's for you, too!
    If you are using a Cricut machine, I do recommend that you use the PNG (no border) version of this file and set it to Draw in Cricut Design Space.

    I've done my research and YOU just made up my mind! I'm switching from cricut to silhouette! I love heat embossing and this video just did it.

    If you heat the embossing powder from the BACK of the cardstock you get a much smoother melt, and the powder won’t blow away if it hasn’t stuck to your glue medium very well.
    Great idea to use the sketch option, I’m keen to try this, I’ve been paper crafting for over 20 years and there’s always something new to try!

    This is GENIUS. What weight papers have you tried this with? I'm considering trying this on some watercolor paper so that I can have an ink + watercolor look piece

    I used the Ranger EmbossIt with good results. But like you, I found that it works best on less intricate patterns. So THANKS for this tip. I've used the Quickie for so many other applications and this never occurred to me. I appreciate it and look forward to trying it soon.

      Regina Hay - Thanks so much for sharing about your results with the Ranger EmbossIt. I hope that the Quickie works out for you as well as it has for me!

    Embossing powders produce the same results, regardless of color? Curious if your technique works well too for something "glittery." In my mind I'm picturing a subdued silver, almost like brushed aluminum. Of course, in those cases the texture might be as much a factor as is the tint.

      Hey, Keith! Embossing powders are available in a variety of different colors and textures. Some of the most popular are clear, white, and metallic, and this technique should work for any color. Exceptions could be some of the powders that have a more coarse grind, but any embossing powder with a finer texture (including some of the glitter embossing powders that are out there) should be good.

    Is your design a single line design or is it a fill in? Just wondering if you needed to put in settings in the fill in/sketch section.

    • @kdotbecca
      @kdotbecca  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      cinasot - This is a single line design, so you wouldn't need to adjust anything in the sketch fill area.
