These raft tricks are really useful, I'd prefer more raft/platform saddle shenanigans but all your building videos are really helpful so I don't really mind what is next.
Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the good work. It's actually possible to place things inside of the foundations and they still work/are accessible... If you can bear to ditch some of the autoturrets you can build a fully functional raft.

I convinced my friend to abandon the fort idea, and just do it with your boats! We have a handful now, and have already reached tech and want a water base. Floatietown is a go!

I'd love to see a tutorial of your pyramid armored storage from one of your other videos. I'll admit I've tried to build one myself but getting the crop plots armored was a real challenge. If you could show a primitive and end game version that would be awesome.
A mosa base or a dock build. I built a work dock once with ceilings under the water line, I loved how easy to build it is when not swimming around . Ooh a work dock raft or ptra carrier raft. Or a sea platform base.
I found you can delete the corner foundations (for a savings of 12 items/tiles) and you can raise the ceiling one whole foundation level so you can fit boxes inside at 0 extra tile cost. This has the added benefit of giving you a tiered layout that is more friendly for extra plant X turrets. (I can't afford a catapult yet, so not sure what effect my modifications will have there yet). My first try I ended up with some gaps that you can get shot through, but that was due to picking bad snapping spots.
floating base build would be real nice on your channel imo. and tyvm for all the great ark content. also i have 3k hours in ark and 5k hours on cod zombies so if you interested in a high round co op game on any map give us a shout. aus of course
Wonderful boat guide. Seen the movie Water World? Have multiple boats positioned around each other (each boat being a puzzle piece). You'd have to build them 3x3 so that ppl wouldn't be able to drive a boat into it. And the boats would have to be positioned with rudders to the center, and a wall or foundation wall would protect the invisible mast. A boat base seems like a big task for one person but very cool I think. A lot of planning. Boat city might be best in shallow water or below the floating island where big tamed fish can't get to. What do you think?

You are a genius, how do you come up with these ideas? Would love to see one or two land builds, and ultimately a waterworld build of all boats or island and surrounding boats.
Maybe getting rid of the back corner foundations can free some piece counts to put an extra layer of protection in the form of foundations on top and botton and walls inside the structure itself (saw in your videos that the walls need to be placed before the foundations, right?) This would make for 2 layers of protection if the enemy tries to explode the whole boat by planting C4 underneat it or 3 if they try to open a hole on it and then find that there's another cabin containing the important stuff inside the boat itself.
This is great for PS4 servers because there is a glitch on boats where people can basically lag through the wall. Foundations aren't thin enough to glitch through so if they want to get in they need to make the investment of a few explosives, at least. The foundation roof is unnecessary.
I made a raft similar to this (but only a few species x plants), using thick layers of stone... but all it took was 1 rocket launcher to demolish the whole raft.
Would you by chance have an tips for closing awkward gaps where your are using walls to build down to the ground? (IE, a stack of pillars with a ceiling on top then building down from the ceiling to the ground). I typically use a foundation to snap to the wall but sometimes the gap is too large for a foundation but too small for a wall.

So this build is absolutely awesome. My tribe got wiped yesterday. So just spawned on the other coast and built one of these bad boys. Very quicklike we went from butt naked on a beach to fabricator tier inside a floating fortress. Fab fits on the backwall. Have to bust a foundation but it will place back. Going to try a grill tonight inside as well. This boat is great for killing mammoths by the bulk via crossbow. I placed a stone fireplace inside to survive the cold.
rearly enjoy your videos always interesting builds and tips . i have a small problem you might be able to help with. i play on a p.v.e server theirs some craft tables that cant be locked and someone s robbed our resources . i kno i can lock everything away now. but can you think of a p.v.e friendly way to trap the thief when i'm offline just so i k'no who it was ? i kon its a chalange but id rearly like to k'on who the thief on the server is .

Hey OneWing- does the lowering foundation method work on PC? I'm having a tough time getting it to lower any further than once, and can't manage to get to the rudder from the foundation since it's in the way
prime meat cooker platform. :) You slaughter things underwater to get you prime, then you surface, turn on the onboard indus grill, move the prime meat into it, and while it's cooking you go back hunting for more. :)
not sure, but even if it does not, you won't have to wait that long for it to cook before diving again It can't be turned on underwater that's for sure.

recent patch breaks the 5x5 base from what I can tell. 3x3 only, but easy 5 up. enough for a gate.

I've tried to do this lower technique it just didn't work and it doesn't allow for foundations under feelings for me.
