I play on a PvE server that easily has over 30,000 days on it, so there aren't any real cool new dinos for me to tame. I'm a very aesthetic-oriented player that likes to build things that I can feel proud to bring my friends to, but I'm also stuck on the midgame. It feels like I have nothing real to built towards, as everyone has already reached those levels. Do you have any advice?
The Chemistry Bench also grants 50% extra materials when crafting, for example: when crafting Narcotic in a mortar, the recipe calls for 1 spoiled meat and 5 narcoberries which gives you 1 Narcotic. In the Chem Bench the recipe calls for 4 spoiled meat and 20 narcoberries, so you would expect for 4 narcotic to be crafted at a time but it instead gives 6... so you basically get two free narcotic per craft. Same goes for everything else in a chem bench. Sparkpowder, gunpowder, propellant, cementing paste, etc..
I didn’t know this and wanted to make some spark powder, got 15 stacks of it😂

I used to hate taming dinos that were far away specifically because id have to walk them back lol. Happy cryopods came out

i personally split ark into FOUR different sections: beginning, mediocre, advanced, and god tier.
beginning is when you don't have a smithy, just a stone base and one or two fliers.
mediocre is when you get a smithy and refining forge and start moving to a metal base and flak armor. You also might have basic resource collectors, like the anky and doedicurus.
advanced is where the fabricator comes in, making turrets and better weapons. you probably have good hunting and resource collecting mounts by now.
then theres god tier. you have a tek base, tek suit, even tek weapons and dinos such as rexes, gigas, and griffons at your disposal.
fun fact: i've never gotten to god tier on official :/

I have just started playing ark recently again and saw how much the industrial forge cost and didn’t think I was ever going to get it until I watched this video, never knew how good it actually was!
An item I'd personally add, but may be considered more late game, is Genesis's Mining Drill. It's main draw back is the requirement of black pearls in crafting it, but it's great at collecting metal. Basically, if the chainsaw is the gas-powered axe, the mining drill is it's matching pickaxe. Just about anything a chainsaw can't get you, a mining drill can. It also reduces the weight of things like metal, stone, and crystal while holding it, and you can hold (but not use) it while mounted on most creatures.
Just an FYI: cryo sickness only lasts 5 minutes, regardless of the torpor timer.

When Pterafier says that you need a pump shotgun but with your 2k hours in ARK have never found a pump shotgun or a blueprint either. Anyway great video. I always learn something from each of them.

I also recommend bringing some parachutes and grappiling hooks, they are really cheap and super useful

Thanks man, I’ve been playing ark for around a year now and have defeated bosses on pvp cross ark severs and then get raided,
This has happened around 4 times now and these videos help me pick the game back up and say
“ no this can’t happen again, I just have to be more stealthy and sometimes overprotective of my base”

Dude I’m just saying I started ark a couple weeks ago and your videos are the only thing that has helped me
The chainsaw is also really good at getting pearls from those horseshoe crab things and black pearls from sea scorpions, back when i played the center i would hit "viking bay" lure a couple scorps from the water and walk away with a good handful of pearls+chitin for cement

I'd say that of those industrial things you mentioned, the most important in my opinion (in order of "what i grind for first"):
Fabricator, Chem bench, Ind Forge, Ind cooker or grill, Ind Grinder

I grind for the industrial crafting stations in that order besides the grill/cooker and grinder, if you are not level 100 the grinder plus a couple lystrosaurus can help you get to that level and unlock those sweet sweet heavy turrets.
I go for fabricator and then ind forge just so it’s easier to get metal
Pretty much, but I usually build the grill pretty soon since it’s cheap anyway

For me a substitute for the fab sniper early game is scope on revolver
1:25 fun fact. If you have a torch equipped to the saddle and cryo the dino the torch stays with it. However be careful, if it runs out and breaks when cryopoding the torch is then dropped because it was in the inventory. Cheers

Chainsaws are seriously underrated. They’re monsters at gathering wood, hide and raw meat. Use that along with a mining drill you’ll be a harvesting machine
I would also add grapples to the list, they are amazing to get out of a bad situation
What do you think about other weapons like the metal bow, assault rifle, ballista melee weapons granedes etc. attachments and all that I think you should make a weapons guide too
assault rifle's good but the ammo is expensive.
Depends on the gamemode you play: if you play pvp then longneck, fab sniper, pump shotgun, compound bow and simple pistol are the best weapons. For pve everything is okay but the assault rifle is only good in pve and very bad in pvp.

Great cryopod segment although mainly for pvp players were platform saddles come in handy for dominating the air ground and sea combat fields anyway upon cryopoding any creature with structure placed on their back, I believe everything is demolished and will disappear

Cryo pods and fridges have been a game changer for me. The lag around my base used to horrible because of all of the dino's that I tamed.

Industrial grinders are INCREDIBLY OP especially on modded servers or ones with increased loot, you can find something like an ascendant lance, grind it up and get 1.5-3+k metal ingots just like that
Cryosickness actually only lasts the amount of time cryo cool down lasts, so about 5 minutes. You can’t cryopod a Dino that has the cryosickness effect, but when it wears off even if they are unconscious you can cryo them.
I know all this but I love your vids.
Thought it was interesting that Pods actually inflict torpor, like wielding brass knuckles. Not a bad substitute for a club

If you are using the scuba gear, get an itchysaurus and saddle it, they are possibly the fastest creature in ark, except they are limited to water, but i'm a mobile player so idk about pc/console
Cam use stone in the grinder as well to get flint faster and gather the stone with the dodic

I found a ascendent pump shotgun in a red drop on rag plus 50 shells as well

Note Cryopods are much more preferred in Single Player when "downloading" your Dinos off the the Obelisk or City Terminals. There is a high chance that your Ark will crash when downloading Dinos which if you haven't made a back-up save you will lose everything on a game crash that didn't save. You can still download crash anyway but it is much more of a reduced chance if you are just pulling pods out.
On that note I pull out everything slowly and use the "SaveWorld" console command often

Before cryopods were added, in order to traverse the snow cave on island, people would use a baby thyacoleo to get through the gap, then raise it in the entrance in order to have a tame lol.
Still underrated as hell. Also, I’m a mobile player but I already set up a place for my soon to be industrial refining forge.
P.S. I’m a good marksman, so I’m also aiming for the fab sniper.

I've got a question, I just reached what id call mid-game, I've got some flak armor and my main weapon is a pike/long neck, I play mostly pve and I was wondering what fabricated weapon I should make first? Shotgun sniper or assault rifle?
I'd add the grappling hook, although I think you have mentioned it before. For long I didn't use it, in part because I didn't know how to use it (and custom bindings didn't help), but now that I've been taught properly, I really find it a must-have. Carrying grapples will get you out of all sorts of troubles, from avoiding a fall that could kill you, to grappling your flyer... now I even use it to rob beaver dams without landing ! And PvP players have also lots of use for them.

6:58 I'm a PvE player playing in 3rd person with a female character... there's a very different reason why I wear scuba leggings ;) But yeah sure, the protection against the cold is nice !
Protip : remember that to breathe in the water, you only really need the scuba tank. And the mask only if you think it improves your view underwater (I'm personally not convinced there's a real benefit). You can improve your overall armor by wearing flak (or riot or whatever) with better durability for your head, hands, legs, and feet if you're not wearing the flippers (or if you're only wearing them for part of the trip... remember you can switch armor ! you can always carry a set of something else to supplement your scuba). It's not gonna stop your tank from being broken if you're attacked, but it can save your butt nonetheless.
The part about the fabby sniper reminded me that I really hope you make a similar series about mods one day. A lot of people use mods but there aren't any tips and how to's out there, and I'm sure it'd be amazing to have a video about all the ways to tame Ark Additions dinos, or how to automate your base with mods like S+/Automated Ark/HG Multi-Storage, or the difference between cryopods and Dino Storage soul balls, etc. There's a lot to cover that hasn't been done, and a lot that's been done but only bits and pieces (like someone making a video about a new Ark Additions creature, but you have to go through the whole video to finally see how the Cryo is tamed... :P I'm not naming names). Anyway, this is me dreaming out loud XD Don't mind me.
How do you use it to rob beaver damns?
@@michaelcherrie5276 : I leave my flyer above the dam, jump into the water or at least on the dam, and aim my grappling hook at the flyer. Once I'm hooked to it, I open the dam, empty it, and immediately use the grappling hook to go back up to my flyer. Then all I have to do is ride it into the sunset while the beavers have a nervous breakdown. It's straight out of Mission: Impossible, really, but it's extremely simple once you got the timing right !
@@ladyteruki i gotta try this out. I havent used the grappling hook at all. I dont even have it unlocked as a matter of fact. Im assuming when you propel back up to your flyer you're able to mount it again? This sounds absolutely amazing by the way. I'm looking forward to trying it
@@michaelcherrie5276 Yes don't worry, you're going to see the prompt as if you were just approaching it in any other way. This being said, in a pinch, I've sometimes just whistled my argy in a random direction so that it starts flying before I reach the saddle, which is particularly convenient if there are other threats around the dam (theriz, rex, what have you)
(also I don't know if that matters but I'm on PC, though I assume this works on console too)

I personally think the sniper would gain A LOT if it could shoot special tranq ammo that could maybe knock out even the strongest of creatures in just a couple of hits.
I use sniper on penguins. I can get them from a distance, keep them from jumping in the icy drink and swimming off.
Chainsaws are also one of the most deadly pvp melee weapons. It'll shred most armor and players in seconds.
