I've never bought a comic before. I've been given them. I've enjoyed movies based on them. But I've never bought one myself. I'm a 34 year old man, a firefighter, an author, a father of two. Because of your videos and your enthusiasm for these stories, today, I bought my first two comics. Dark Knights Metal#1 and a nightmare before Christmas comic for my daughters. I intend to buy every comic in this Metal series because I love the story so much, and I can honestly say, your enthusiasm in creating this content and sharing your love of this story is quintessential to my experience. Thank you for that you do, for taking the time to break these stories down for busy people like me. Im slowly working my way through all your videos, so many stories I never would have enjoyed without your passion and effort. So I wanted to thank you. And tell you your passion for comics has led to a direct support of this industry from me. Comics are pretty amazing. There is so much to explore. Hope you get to read What ever happened to the man of tomorrow?, Batman the dark knight returns, Emerald dawn and Emerald twilight, Zero hour, JLA: Terror Incognito, and then Infinite crisis. This will bring you at least up to about the year 2000. You can skip the new 52 and then get into the current era.

Wow. I'm glad to have watched this whole thing. I was kind of left scratching my head with this whole event, but this video cleared some things up for me. Even though I read all the Crisis events up to this point, I will admit that I was too dim to see all the connections. I love how amped you got for this event. I myself finished it with just an,"Eh. That was cool". Never truly got as gobsmacked as you did with the Joker reveal at the climax either. Anyways, great video, as always.
Man, this was a fantastic way of spending four and a half hours... It's also kinda funny, how they propose that the dark multiverse has always existed. It's pretty much exactly what I've always believed too. Universes are infinite. Questions you do and don't ask happen in these universe. "What if the Golden Gate bridge was blue?" "What if Superman was real?" "What if Stan Lee was immortal?" "What if Hitler didn't commit suicide?" Every question asked and not asked happen in the multiverse.
Unfortunately, Hitler didn't commit suicide. The body was a stand in. Hitler spent the rest of his life in Argentina. He died an old man, surrounded by friends and family, never answering for what he did. It sucks and I hate it but it's true.

Seriously? It ends with monkeys from the 53rd universe saving the heros and giving them enough time to dive into molten metal while believing hard enough and suddenly they have literally plot armor that can do anything. And the main villain who has been built up the whole time is killed in a single blow in one panel? Plus the final showdown with the batman who laughs was like 3 panels that didn't make sense. This comic actually made me upset at how poorly it was written
If the killing joke was truly the origin story for the batman who laughs then that means the "killing joke" was that batman broke his oath and broke himself and killed joker, so he became the joker. Hes probably been laughing at that same joke for a while now, that he failed and now he isnt his old self, he's the joker
I'm not even a comic book or super hero kind of person. My dad hated that stuff growing up. Thought it served no purpose. Here I'm in my mid 30s watching this whole thing (at the recommendation of a friend) and I'm now in LOVE with the DC universe. I recently went to my local comic shop and ordered DawnBreaker and Death of the Family. Can't wait! New sub!!!

In all of this I love that the Court of Owls reward for their masterful plan and cunning nature was: Barbatos allowed them to be murdered by The Batman who Smile's pet Robins.

Watching this after looking at the ads for it in all the Walmart DC Giants (episode on those in future, please). My mind is being freaking blown with every one of these stories. I never realized how much I wanted a DC tale dripping with meta commentary in every pore, but this is absolutely scratching that itch. I'll definitely seek the trades for this, and look forward to the sequel in 2019.

Watching this after looking at the ads for it in all the Walmart DC Giants (episode on those in future, please). My mind is being freaking blown with every one of these stories. I never realized how much I wanted a DC tale dripping with meta commentary in every pore, but this is absolutely scratching that itch. I'll definitely seek the trades for this, and look forward to the sequel in 2019.

Outstanding. I'm a Marvel fan as well however through time and I guess from the beginning I've always liked DC. Now I'm at the point where I say thanks to both. My reason is this as a child I did my own cross over stories without realizing it. I had the action figures so I went ham! Let me tell they never lost. Thanks for bringing back the love. Fresh
