I met Scott Snyder a couple of years ago at a signing by my local comic book shop, and it was so much fun. I got a picture with him and I got a personalized message in my Court of Owls collection. "To Matthew, the court is watching you..." It's my most prized possession.
Hey Rob, I just want to say thank you for taking so much time to make videos. Its pretty impossible (for us mere mortals) to go out and read every comic out there. So, its really awesome that you cover so much stuff. It helps whenever wanting to go out and purchase comics/trades to know what we are getting with each book. Its also great that you are covering classic stories that are worth getting and reading. Thanks man! I do have a one requests- Saga. Its one of my favorite indie comics out there and I haven't really had much time to catch up on it.
Oh boy, there's references to Barbatos even further back than that! As far back as Morrison's run in "Time and the Batman," published right after Bruce's apparent death in Final Crisis. So like 7 years before he truly comes in to play? It's crazy stuff, hats off to the writers big time

Rob - I was a huge DC & Marvel collector in the 90's and it is a joy watching your videos because they are extremely entertaining. Back in the day we had to swap ideals and theories in the comic book stores and antique message boards. I'm happy my son informed me of your channel.

at about 2 minutes into the video i thought, oh man this is so cool with batman. at about minutet 25 i noticed that this is an hour video, not only that, but an hour and 40 minutes. and my mind went... crap... this will get boring really fast. At about 1 hour mark... WTF happened its still cool and what happened with my lost time? My point is: Good work. Reeeeally good work. The writers, and the artists and of course this amazing channel. Bringing life to the comics that i can never read by my self.

I've been lucky enough to make some side money with art but this is a noir style passion project. I don't care if it takes 5 years to draw one issue but it's a lot harder than I thought!
Greg Capullo is probably my favorite artist to ever draw Batman. The art design is so amazing. There’s something about it that I just can’t really put my finger on but at the time nothing else looked anything like that. It was and still is such a unique art direction, and I fucking love it.
In regards to Death of the Family I am in 100% agreement with you. It’s so good! It’s creepy, it’s suspenseful, tense, and dark as hell. And for me, it introduces a version of Joker that I really hadn’t seen before. This Joker is calculated, and menacing, down right scary, and 100% certifiably insane. I mean he’d have to be to sit through getting his face cut and being the one that set it up to happen as the first step in a plan that was a year in the making. And personally, I thought the change in wardrobe was actually pretty fitting. Going from if traditional Purple suit to a pair of plumber cover-all’s with a Joe name tag and using bungee cords to secure his face to his head. I also love the attention to detail in regards to his face. With each passing issue it becomes discolored, and stars rotting and attracting flies that land on it every so often, and sometimes begins to slip off his head and he has to readjust it every now and then. So good!! So fucking good!

He writes like a 15 year old Alan Moore, or Frank Miller :S:S Things are just too simple and obvious for my personal taste, and his characters feel more like walking stereotypes, than actuall thinking persons. I mean, he´s not bad or anything like that, but I think Scott Snyder is the very definition of a "meh" author for me. There´s nothing that Batman says or does in the New52 that suprises me, or any of the villains. I just feel like Im reading a slightly inferior version of Batman comics that Ive read already :S:S But to each his own.

lol this channel has exposed me to some of the funniest TH-cam arguments I've ever seen, and not even about marvel vs D.C. Or if a story sucks or not, but arguing about lipsmacking, how often he says "now what we see here" about the pronunciation of "Walter kovacs" and now making complete story videos over new content and lol it's just like omg how invested are you in this or how much do you all depend on this
One question - If Batman only existed for 5 years in New 52, then there is no evidence that he knew much about Gotham at all. The Court of Owls was a great addition to the Gotham mythos, but the 5 year superhero set up of new 52 worked against how ominous the CoO's really is. If Pre-52 Batman encountered the Court, then that would have been terrifying because it lends itself to the question: How much more does the Batman NOT KNOW?
Rob's voice and confidence in his voice REALLY sells this series for me. . . . . Like he should be paid to do documentaries about comics for Marvel/DC tbh.
Now realizing that the part about Joker poisoning the Mayor even with Gordon & the cops all around, that was a same plot point in Nolan’s Dark Knight movie, though unsure of what came first. Still a cool coincidental connection
For all those asking, I think these recent uploads have been for the new subscribers. They've been asking questions & have needs. We as old subs know what videos to watch etc but for new members of the Core going thru his videos can be a daunting task. So, these videos like this makes things easier for them to catch up to where we (seasoned Core members) are before moving forward. Plus, if you read comics he's pretty much caught up on the stories he follows. It'd be nice to see him branch out to more things like Valiant or Image or into stories like I Hate Fairyland or Animosity but he (like most TH-camrs) does what's popular. That's my take on it. Could be wrong.
Glad you understand that. I've been a follower of Rob for a while but even I haven't watched every single one of his videos so the longer uploads like this help me to find videos that I previously missed or forgot about. Or I just watch them again to get more of Rob.

Yup, I read Arkham Asylum several times, and it is an absolute masterpiece. You have to try reading it again man, it is so incredibly well done. the story, loose as it is, leaves nothing but psychosis to the imagination. It's like being in the joker's mind.
This needs an accompanying video about New 52 Batman and Robin, which is as good as, if not better than, New 52 Batman. Same with GLC and your Geoff Johns GL vid. Tomasi and Gleason are a highly underrated creative team.
I hope you will do some more character descriptions again. I would love to hear more about Moon knight, Wonder Woman, and Vision. I like to know about obscure characters like Wraith the Enchantress from Thor. I still enjoy the channel though!!!😉😉😉

I hope you will do some more character descriptions again. I would love to hear more about Moon knight, Wonder Woman, and Vision. I like to know about obscure characters like Wraith the Enchantress from Thor. I still enjoy the channel though!!!😉😉😉
