I had an issue with my first soap.
      1. I believed someone who said you dont need a stick blender. After 3 hours of mixing, I decided, yeah, you really do. I think I hit a false trace.
      2. My castor oil disappeared, as in just gone. So I'm on soap calc trying to modify my recipie AFTER I had oils and lye mixed.
      3. I woke up to honey oatmeal soup.
So I rewatched (AKA threw it in a pot, in the oven for two hours) basically hot processed it. Which was another learning experience. And because I had put a layer of oatmeal on top, I ended up with a lot of oatmeal in my mix.
Basically the soap looked like oatmeal cookies. But hey, they're just curing to harden up now.

Hey Katie! I just wanted to thank you for your tutorials. I have been crafting (sewing, crochet, 3d printing, digital design etc.) for a long time and had been "threatening" to make soap for years but I was nervous about lye. During the pandemic I have been home with a bit of extra time. I watched your videos over and over and finally got the courage to try it myself. It was a huge success and have made many soaps in the past year and a half (maybe 30?) and even did two local markets. Your videos really lifted my spirits during these difficult times. Your positive attitude is truly inspiring, not to mention all the amazing soaps. :). Thanks!

I would love love love more specific videos regarding the preparation/measurements of the raw materials, and how the different recipes work. Also, some math would be nice too, as I can't seem to figure out the math for the water/oils, etc. Love you Katie!

She is so amazing. After learning from Royalty soaps, I made my first bar and my own company! Thanks so much for all you do to pay it forward! Living with anxiety, I didn't think I could work with lye and feel safe, but she makes me feel so safe as long as I was careful, wearing safe gear, and thinking safely during the whole process!

This is starting to get exciting ... well, more exciting. I've started collecting supplies and equipment. It'll be a little while before I'm ready to try making my first batch, but I can't stop watching the videos. They're addicting. I almost gave soap making a try back in 2016. I wish this series was available back then. I have a fondness for color, especially deep rich Earth tones. I'm really attracted to the multitude of colorful pattern possibilities with soap making. I was momentarily concerned when the previous video started talking about the pink layer. I'm not a fan of pink, but I found the color of the finished soap to be more towards the agreeable end of the pink range. I'll probably leave the TD out of that batch to darken up the colors a bit. I'm anxious to get the first two batches under my belt and try the drop swirl technique in this video.

AHHH I'm so impatient! I ordered everything on Monday. Still waiting for some to even ship. D: But I'm so excited! I'm new but ambitious (and a sucker for making things more difficult for myself) so I also bought your soap frosting kit when your shop went live! I already have ideas for how to incorporate frosting into these beginner soaps so hopefully it works out. :) I'm so excited!!!

Katie you are the most wholesome, amazing TH-camr I have ever come across, and you have legit changed my life with these videos. Making soap has become a great creative outlet for me, and your Bob-Ross-esk outlook on making mistakes when making soap, because hey, even if it isn't exactly what you were hoping for, it's still soap... Well, I have general anxiety disorder, and I've dropped a lot of hobbies because I feel like I'm not good enough to continue trying, but your outlook assured me enough to not only try in the first place, but also to just come up with plans b, c, and d, just in case I blend past light trace, or a color doesn't turn out, or a scent accelerates more than I expect. You are incredible. Please keep doing what you're doing, because you are inspirational and you brighten the lives of everyone that watches your videos.

Yes I love this series even though I have been making soap a while. Have been doing much with my business. I have a website and a business page on facebook and Instagram. I would love some videos on how to get people to buy my soap more and how to promote it. I am going to make the soaps and will tag you after the 23rd. I'm fasting a bit from facebook , Instagram etc. I have been following you for a couple of years. Any info advice would help. Thank you for doing this and not charging us. It was helpful even for us who have been making soaps a while. Christie
