  • Yes, I just made a soap with REAL oatmeal, milk, AND honey! I chose to use almond milk simply because I don't drink much of anything else anymore but you could use coconut milk, soy milk, goat's milk, or whatever else your heart fancies if you make this yourself! :D

Everything is always beautifully made :) you are amazing. Yes please, if you are able to do beginner tutorials that would help so much. I am not able to begin making soap as of yet but I am very INTERESTED! I have been reading two of Anne Marie ( Soap Queen) books and taking notes but having beginner tutorials would be soooo helpful. I hope you all are doing well :)

Vegan’s that dont use honey and are against bee keepers are contributing to the death of bee’s. Collecting Honey does not kill or harm bees at all. It actually helps them and us by using honey. Bee keepers (proper ones at least like local farmers not mass produced) keep bees in the best conditions for them to survive.

Vegans think any one who interacts with an animal is evil. Yet they feed their cats vegan food. This of course causes a lot of health problems for an animal that’s 100% carnivor. Their hearts suffer, they go blind and a bunch of other things because their abusive vegan owners refuse to provide their cats with the food they need. And they complain about bee farmers. Which if they do their job properly, they don’t harm the bees at all. In fact, it’s normal for colonies to die off. It happens in nature too so it has nothing to do with the bee keeper. Vegans, at least quite a bit of them, are the biggest hypocrites I’ve ever seen. Not to mention they yell “animal abuse!” without understanding what they’re talking about

Including stick blender, scale, infrared thermometer, pre-mixed oils, lye, bowls, etc.... EVERYTHING!! There's 3 different ones, I got the swirl kit. I'm only sharing this with you because I wish someone would've shared this with me before I spent $500+ getting started!! • @mariahcampbell4676
      @mariahcampbell4676 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I am not katie, but sugar makes soap harder and lather more, but it does quicken trace and then could overheat your soap and make it actually "volcano" or go through an extreme gel phase if you do not soap at cool enough temps. salt also makes it harder but will decrease lather. I prefer sugary substances and soap at very cool temps, which will slow trace.

You can substitute half the water for the lye with milk. Then you must freeze the milk into icecubes, or the temperature of the lye will burn the milk. And put your bowl in a water/ ice bucket, to cool the solution.

The spider reminds me of double merle dogs. Merle is a popular color for some breeds of dogs. Its like a speckled black and white with grey blue. They come about naturally from breeding but if you breed 2 merles you get all merles and the chance to get a double merle which usually end up being mostly white, blind, and deaf

Please Please Please make what I’m calling the “Beginners Soap Digest”. I’m a new soaper and need lots of HELP with words like water discount Sap #, etc. I’m addicted to your channel, absolutely “Geeking” out on cold processed soap.

Also, you're amazing and SO likeable. I noticed that you are in Texas. We just moved from Utah to San Antonio and have friends and family up in the Dallas area, so maybe I will be able to meet you one day. You mentioned in one video that you're one of 10 siblings? I'm the third of 9...I love being in a big family. I homeschool and just barely decided to get my kids into soap making. You deserve all the success you have and more. Also, I love your "Duchess of Suds" thing.

This looks beautiful. I just found your channel. How much mica and titanium dioxide and colloidal oatmeal do you use? Also in your recipe, what does 25% water discount mean? Finally, what is the 90% alcohol spritz for? Thanks.

  • @atirahanuar3520

Hi there. Tety here from Malaysia. 🙋🏽 May I please know why is the water discount is 25% when the super fat is just 5% (from the milk)? And from the last part of her video, she needed more than 2 days to make sure her soap bar is solid enough before cutting.
25% water discount but the soap is still soft? Why?
    Thanks in advance ❤️

Hi! Happy to have found your channel. I wonder if you could make a soap that remind about Lush’s Sultana? With soft, sweet and spicy fragrance? Lush’s products are way too expensive and I would like to either buy from someone else oooor, maybe make it myself!😉 But it really seems quite hard!

I love your philosophy, Miss Katie. I've been asked for fragrance sources and have never had an issue with providing it. I never understood the "you need to do the work yourself" mindset. I closed my online store last month, but sell from a gallery here in St. Paul and people do ask about fragrances. I can almost smell this oatmeal, milk and honey soap !

I wish there a was a way for me to be like “vip” and pay a large sum at the beginning of the year and be guaranteed like two bars each month. Maybe even like one I can choose and one is a random? Pre order style kind of.
I always miss the soap sells and I am willing to pay more per bar for something like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way. No one likes fomo haha
As always you’re amazing katie! A little light in another Katie’s day 😝

I really don't want to be THAT PERSON, but I go crazy every time you say oatmeal when you mean oats, oatmeal is what happens when you cook the oats into a porridge, it happens so often with a lot of people.. it's just oats!! D:

Beautiful soaps! I add colloidal oatmeal and kaolin clay to my soaps. I take some of my melted oils and stick blend the oatmeal/clay mixture to them. I add that oil/oatmeal/clay mixture back into my other oils. (did that make sense?) Anyway, thanks for your informative and entertaining videos! I love them! :)

What do you mean by "melt n pour"? I'm sure I'll watch this video again because this is the prettiest soap you make, in my opinion, but I don't understand the "melt and pour" part although I'm pretty sure I've seen you do something similar in another video. I always watch your videos now. I just found you and I'm fascinated with the process.

Personaly, I enjoy when people share where they get their items from. because like you said, there's a lot of people in the world. I'm not after your business! I'm not trying to do what you're doing. I asked a girl at a festival where she got her candle jars from and she said "I can't reveal my source." But when you look on the bottom of the candle jar there was a weird trademark looking thing and I just googled it and found her lil "secret" source. Like, I understand but she was not the only booth there with the jars.
