    Those of us who actually make soap fully understand what you are saying. Or at least I do. Top that with, like you said, shooting, buying video equipment, editing, uploading, adding this and that to make it a great looking video, all takes valuable time. Like they say, time is money. You are absolutely correct, Royalty soaps only gives one recipe. I highly doubt that one recipe is all she has. Different designs need certain oils to give you time to make them. The recipe for the frosting most often is not the recipe for the bars. I am new to your channel and I commented on another post where you ASKED people if they thought it was a good idea to charge for your recipes. It was a resounding YES from me! I paid a subscription in full for a year to another soap maker who also does videos on TH-cam. She touted that you get SO MUCH MORE when you subscribe. That was not the case. The sites copyright is from 2017, which tells me these are very old recipes or no one has bothered to do any updates. So where is the new content? Most of the recipes don't even have videos attached. I would scroll through all the lovely pictures on her site trying to decide which recipe I wanted only to find that there was no recipe and no video, only a picture?! Of course no one has ever gotten back to me with regard to these problems. Sorry to make this so long but people need to know what else is out there as opposed to what you offer. First of all you offer truth and very good tips & tricks, which proves you care about your subscribers and are NOT just out to get a check from TH-cam. This is your business. I'm sure anyone who has issue with you charging for your recipes, your hard work, would be very upset if they worked for a week and was told 'Sorry no check for you!' Anyway, I love your videos and fully support your decision to expand your business while helping soapers. (^o^)

      Thanks for the great feedback, Gwen! That is exactly why I don't want to go the Patreon route. I don't have time to give extras, and I can't even guarantee regular videos, so this way, if someone wants to contribute, they can just buy a recipe. Thank you for letting me know about your experience, Gwen. 💕🌳

      I've always wondered, is your lard THBQ and BHT Free? It's pretty standard to have those preservatives in lard and I'm allergic. 😭

    • @TreeMarieSoapworks
      @TreeMarieSoapworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lard does have Beta Hydroxy Acid, which is good for skin in most cases. I have many recipes that I use though. They don't all contain lard. Sorry you are allergic. 💕

      Tree Marie Soapworks I do like the first ones (Red, green, purple if I’m not wrong?) but the orange makes it a perfect balance. Plus, like you mentioned, they’re Halloween colors! 🎃👻 I can imagine other combinations such as pastel pink/blue/purple or a spring themed pastel green/yellow/blue/pink. I feel I have way too many soap ideas for someone who doesn’t make it. 😅💕

    Probably a newbie question, but why wait to add liquid oils to hard oils? At 7 min 20 sec you mentioned this.

    • @TreeMarieSoapworks
      @TreeMarieSoapworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I melt the hard oils first until they are just melted. That means that they are completely clear and not too hot. I try and keep the temps down to avoid having to wait too long for things to cool. Adding the liquid oils later helps the hard oils to cool down. (I soap around the temps of 85-95 degrees F.) If the oils aren't clear at any time before you add the lye water, gently heat them until the oils are completely clear and no shimmery streaks remain. (The oils must be melted to avoid stearic spots in your final product.)

    Hi hi when you premix the color what oil do you use ? Is the oil amount calculated in the recipe? Or won’t affect the recipe?

    • @TreeMarieSoapworks
      @TreeMarieSoapworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Olive Oil, and it just adds to the superfat.

  • @mamasimmerplays4702
    @mamasimmerplays4702 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you pre-mix your pigments with a liquid oil, do they stay dispersed so you can store them as concentrated coloured oil in a squeeze bottle, or do they settle out so you have to re-mix them before use?

    • @TreeMarieSoapworks
      @TreeMarieSoapworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would only do this for the titanium dioxide since it is super time consuming to mix. It does settle, so I have added some new stainless steel bolts to help agitate. I mix the TD in oil because it can then be stirred in. Stick blending causes acceleration, and my designs often need to stay fluid, so once the color is added, I don't stick blend.

    I already said earlier how beautiful this is but forgot to ask a question I had. Are the drops visible on both sides of the soap? I tend to think not, but if you would tell us, that would be great! Thanks again and be safe.

      Yes, It goes all the way through. You'll have to watch the end of the video; you can see me cut it.

      I did watch to the end, but maybe I missed the first time when you may have shown both sides after cutting? I'll watch again. Thank you so much and be safe with your family!

      Yes, start simple. You set yourself up for frustration if you try doing the advanced techniques at the beginning. Perhaps try this recipe. www.elementsbathandbody.com/basic-cold-process-soap-recipe/
