This sounds better than my B&O A1 2nd Gen, only thing I have on my apple devices is “Sound Check” ON and “Dolby Atmos” ON at all times and sounds amazing 🤩 no distortion at any volume with all sorts of music tested
I may look into getting one. I’ve been using the Pill+ plugged into my computer monitor for gaming, but it’s nice to have a refresh after so many years.
After listening to mine for a few days, I realized that there is just no high, mid, or low separation. Ive done demos for multiple people compared to the Bose Soundlink Flex and everyone says the Flex blows it away. The clarity is just not there and its soundstage is not wide at all on the Pill. I bought it to compare to the Bose....Im returning it. The music quality to me just doesnt sound natural. The bass on the Soundlink Flex is MUCH better too.
@@adamburke4738 So why bother commenting. Who asked? Do I need to announce to the internet “Wow that’s amazing! I will not be purchasing this product” like if Apple needs your money lol
Just ordered one for the wife after my sons new puppy chewed through the cable of the Air pod mini, so disappointed with apple's mini pods and even the (old ) home pod, great sound, just never stay connected, could never trust them at a party, will try this Pill and if good get some more. Thanks for the great review.
I have been using this speaker for the past couple of days now. I also have a JBL Xtreme 3 as a bigger alternative. If you are looking for something that is going to fit in your bag easily and take it on a holiday, that looks and feels nice and sounds decent; it think it is one of the best options. I like the integration of the find my too. It needs to have a sleep timer tho, it is kinda ridiculous. As long as a phone is connected to it, it does't turn itself off. So if that can get fixed, this will be a brilliant speaker.
I’ve had the beats pill+ since launch and this year is the first year I’ve had issues with it after 100s of drops and thousands of charges and power ons&off and the only issue I’ve had is the silicone or rubber covering the power button has ripped off, or more of it started to dry-rot. Put tape over it though and it’s still getting used.
I use the new tribit x sound plus 2, and I think it easily beats the beats. It is cheaper at 70 dollars, with superb sound quality of 30watts. Plus it gives cover protection for the usb c and the 3.5mm aux port, Unlike the beats here has an open usb c port and No aux port.. I also have the jbl charge 3 and that is also great but I prefer the tribit with new features at a lower cost and greater louder cleaner sound.
All the manufacturers are basically copying JBL these days with their speakers’ driver layout. JBL was the first to use the racetrack driver in their speakers, and added the tweeter in their charge 5 and flip 6. Sony recently used a similar design in the ULT Field 1, and now it looks like Apple have re-released the Beats Pill speaker with the same design. It’s a good design in my opinion, and a good move for the Beats speaker that has up until now struggled to compete. Sure, they’re all Mono now, but stereo doesn’t really make a difference in a speaker this small.
Someone needs to do a blind sound test between this and rival models from JBL, Soundcore, Tribit, etc. Seems like this new Pill is average sounding but apple fanboyism in reviewers is making excuses for it.
Don’t judge even before you see that. Your Apple hatred is obvious. You buy what you like or ask your papa to buy one for you. Get back to study. You gotta finish your homework.
Wow! At £150 it needs to sound *really* good. I recently got a £17 speaker from Amazon and have been surprised by how good it is. I find it hard to believe the Beats Pill is 9 x better.
I only find hearing the device on TH-cam to be useful if another device in the same category that I am familiar with is also featured. So I wouldn’t be someone who would tell you off in the comments lol.
Where in the world would you take the Beats Pill first?
were you paid for this review?
@rashad280 no. If I was, I would have to declare the fact. Why do you think I was?
@@MarkEllisReviews just wondering. Very good review. Thanks for a prompt response.
Have you tried a JBL Flip 6?
I love your point about the sound we hear, it’s always amazed me people making positive sound reviews from a recording 😂

Still nobody comparing it not only to the + but the XL too. Imma do that review soon if i can

I had no idea they were bringing that thing back. Honestly, that’s nice. I wouldn’t buy it but it’s nice to know it’s been resurrected.
Why?
@@keef78 why won’t I buy it? Because I don’t need it 🤷🏻♂️ that a problem?
or your just broke lol
@@GamingExpress guess what clown, not everyone feels the need to buy something they don’t need or want.

Another great review!
I hope you review the BOSE SOUNDLINK MAX.
wonderful review as usual! i wonder how this is compared to the Sonos Roam 2?
Still rocking my Ol' Pill XL from time to time. Never took the time to send it back because of all the memories with it.

That’s an issue with your WiFi. Never had issues with mine
@@joshgutierrez7380 I wish that was it, but its been the same with BT, virgin and sky and even when I take them to my holiday home its the same.
Compare it to a JBL charge 5
Please!
with jbl flip
Don’t go there bro😂😂 do you know charge 5????????
Say flip or the go line up okay
Jbl is probably better on both as over all I would think. But beats will sell regardless
I currently have a Charge 5, so that's why I suggested that, but you're right, it does need a comparison with the Flip 6.

Just bought the Bose sound flex speaker, very similar specs and sounds amazing.
Mark! Thank you very much!
Totally forgot about this, had the old red character too for it
Does it have an Aux input port, I was hoping to use it with my MPC Live 1?
Just ordered mine, for fyi Amazon are selling it for £120 instead of 150, well worth it at that price
sold my homepod mini and got this speaker and is amazing. What i don't like is the booting sound
Great review pal, makes me want one but I don’t think I would use it
Bought the champagne colour after watching your vid. Sub'ed too! Cheers.
How does it compare to Bose sound link flex
I have a beats pill+ and still use mine regularly.
It’s a great little speaker.
I’m excited for this

Forgot to include that I hope this new one doesn’t have that issue and the rubber life lasts longer!
So I've been using them wrong as a suppository the whole time?
Sweet...if not this, what else should I look at for the money?
SONY-SRS-ULT10W or The JBL Flip 6
Jbl flip 6. Best speaker ive ever owned
Sony ult field one
Minirig! Hands down the best small speaker! Great sound even at low volume. I’ve had mine for years working on site
@@spitNsawdust I Agree, it's a Nice Choice because they have 100 Hours of Battery Life Compared to most Bluetooth Speakers
How did you get the orange? Where can I find the orange one? Apple lists it in champagne, black and red
It's the red.
Bose SLF still kills with the dual passive radiators! Active woofers don’t make sense in such a small device.

Thinking abt getting one for music in the shower 😂
You took the red pill

One guy did it and did it with his friends too. They all preferred the new Beats speaker.
I wonder is you can use usbc to aux adapter?
does it support airplay 2?

Why do I hear Jony Ive’s voice in this video? 😅
Good Newcleus sample 😮
This thing is not what everyone says it live up to for its size ...the marshall emberton 2 sounds way much better
I wish it had airplay in it
It has Siri, and can pair with another. Just not with other AirPlay speakers
5:15 that's what she said.
Song name?
Can you skip a track using the buttons on it?
yes, if you double press the play button it skips a track, and triple press it goes back one.
I wouldn't pay £150 for a monophonic sounding speaker! The beats pill+ was stereophonic
5:15 😏
That ridiculous Customize chip instead of the h chip is incredibly annoying. How do you supply better assistants to android instead of Apple?

Looks like a pride month artifact.
😅
Best comment here... This should be pinned!
Look at me red.
Thumbed down because you couldn’t compare to anything?
First!
Yuck, overpriced crap that will not compete today. Bose soundlink flex is the one to beat, the most amazing sound for a small Bluetooth speaker.
Bose soundlink flex has 2x less battery life, compared to the beats pill which has 24 hour battery life
Doggy! 3:15
MONO garbage

I guess someone has to compensate for your lack of conversation skills.
