      What made you choose the MOS system over getting the slide milled?

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HKX_ORANGECHICKEN Good question. I knew I wanted to try the SCS after some research, and the immediate appeal was how low it sat on the slide with factory irons. A lot of optics have high deck heights so you need taller iron sights too. So it required the least amount of time sending it into a company to mill it, almost no re-training in the way I present the weapon, and 0 permanent physical alterations to the gun in order to run a red dot. I'm not saying its 100% better than milling your slide to another specific optic, but it was just so easy to go buy the SCS and throw it on. Not to mention it doesn't need a battery. Hope that helps.

I put big Trijicon Surpressor sights on my big gen 5 Glock 22 MOS but in 2024, many newer rear optics can function with regular sights.

    If you do choose to go the compensator route, have available capital to make the investment b/c TBF they're not cheap, I recommend the Radian Ramjet & Afterburner for your G19 Gen5. Purchase their Compressor Quick Tune Guide Rod, use the 13 lbs spring and run either 115 and 124 grain target and defensive ammo. 147 target or defensive loads have also worked well for me. Excellent format, info, length and narration for your video. Malo, liked and subscribed!

    I also carry a 19-but I have a ton of experience with the Trijicon RMR so I’ve run this for 15 years on two different duty guns.How do you really like your Holosun as compared to say a 507K?Which model is yours again,and will it work with my RMR cut slide?

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would love to throw an RMR on it some day, but I have been pretty happy with the Holosun SCS MOS. It isn't perfect, but it gets the job done for EDC. It is very similar to the 507K, but mine is solar powered and the brightness auto adjusts to the environment (pretty well, too).
      It will not work with the RMR cut, this one is specifically designed to fit Glock's MOS cut.

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hard to find. Most of them are 500 lumens or less if they are short because they run on a single CR123. Can’t really produce that much more power out of those batteries. And honestly 500 is enough for most applications. Let me know if you find one though.

      Yes it does, and actually the IncogX is labeled "TLR7" on the back of it. The Incog uses the ejection port of the slide for retention so the exact light usually doesn't matter as long as its basically the same size.

    Looks cute. I currently have the 19x. I was playing with the 43x at the shop range last week. Still haven’t tried the 19, but the comfortability and the ability to move without having a pole against my appendix was a huge plus. The 19x prints and n the handle and I can’t work with it. Hmm that sucks. Did you try pressing the mode button? It may have been locked into manual brightness mode which yes is very bright. But the auto brightness mode is usually pretty spot on to the environment. Could have also been a QC issue, happens sometimes

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fair assessment haha but the only things that were “swapped” were the iron sights and trigger (even though it’s still a Glock trigger). Everything else is either stock, or a small add on to better mold the gun to me. But I agree with you it is definitely a stigma with Glock guys. I’m all about it though if it comes down to saving my life

  • @lowercvse
    @lowercvse 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    3:52 I recently bought a used Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS. It came with a set of Dawson Precision all-optic height irons and I was also shooting shockingly over and up. I realized that the rear sight was visibly off-center and was happy knowing that, once I got it centered, I'd be shooting well again and it really wasn't me.
    Well, I had a gunsmith center the irons and I couldn't wait to shoot. Unfortunately, I was now shooting even further off and up than before they were centered lol.
    I plan to get a different set of irons because these take up too much of my optic window. Hopefully it's just a weird fluke. The gun only had 2-3k rounds through it before I bought it.

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dude this is exactly what happened to me with TWO pairs of GL01s. I wanted to like them so bad because they really are good quality sights at face value, but there's something off with the rear sight. Sounds like you and I had similar issues. My hunch is that the bottom of the rear sight is curved/bent on the right side. This would cause shots to go high and right/left, whichever way they're bent.

  • @worstcasescenarioch
    @worstcasescenarioch 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I don't know man. If it fits you it's okay i guess but i wouldn't call it perfect. A TLR-7A would have been a better choice in that form factor and a closed optic a better choice for an EDC.

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear ya man, I can respect the opinion. I did actually talk about both of these things in the video; how I don't like the downward/rotary knobs of Surefires and Streamlights (Inforce activates inward toward the gun), and how an enclosed optic is planned for future upgrades (really want to try out the new SCS Carry). Haven't had a single issue with the SCS MOS though, open emitters aren't bad for EDC, lots of people run RMRs, other Holosuns, etc...But you're right, it's perfect for my use case and preferences. That's the beauty of subjective opinions.

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So this is my personal take: I used to work with a lot of former Sig employees (some of whom worked in the QC and testing department) and the stories they told about the culture at Sig completely turned me off to their products. Not only that, but the P320 safety issues solidified my beliefs that they care more about making $ than they do about higher quality products. Again, this is my opinion so don't take this as fact.
      But as far as shootability and comfortability, I actually really liked the P365 (I have only shot the X Macro version of it). So take all of that with a grain of salt!

    The majority of my passion and collection consists of long guns like ARs, AK74s, Shotguns, and PCCs, and when it comes to my EDC it's always going to be a Glock. One of the only pistols that I can break all the way down and I pretty much run em all stock. The only aftermarket triggers I would even consider are Johnny Glocks and I use C&H Precision's plates. Ameriglos or Trijicon sights work well for me and I always have to run the beavertail Medium Backstrap on my Gen 4s and Gen 5s or the Grip Force Adapter on my Gen 3s. Primarily have 9mm Glocks but I have carried .40s&w and 45acp chambered Glocks in the past. Tier One or T-Rex Arms Holsters are gotos for me. Of course on YT alot of people love to dawg on Glock for whatever reason but when it comes down to it, they just run and thats as simple as it gets for me. Run whatever you like and do whatever you like, it's your life and your money. I'm currently running a 19M MOS that I just purchased with all the fixings brand new for right under $600 Bones. Threw on my 507C and my X300T, and just waiting for a Agency Arms Magwell and i'm set. I like the backstrap mod tgat you. I chop the Gen 5 backstraps as well and sand them down. Good stuff man.

    I have always been taught to never, ever change the trigger on a carry gun. If you ever use the gun in self-defense and get sued, they will use the fact you changed the trigger (made it a lighter trigger pull) against you. They will call it a "hair trigger" in court and say that if you had only had a stock trigger, the person you shot would still be alive because you may have pulled the trigger accidentally. We know that is absurd, but the judge or jury may not be well-informed gun owners and may be swayed by the prosecution.
    The prosecutor that charged kyle rittenhouse said in court that kyle using hollow-point bullets in his rifle proves that he wanted to kill people because hollow-point bullets "explode." Of course, that is insane but you are up against anti gun prosecutors, and they can say whatever they want in court to try to make the jury convict you.
    I say dont give the prosecutors anything they can use against you in court. Potential jail time or lawsuits are not worth having a trigger pull that's 2 lbs less than stock. In my opinion, you should change the trigger back to stock by a certified glock armorer. You dont want the fact you changed the trigger or modified it in any way yourself to come out in court if you were to ever use this gun in a self-defense situation.

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally hear ya man. This is a very common but uninformed argument in my opinion. Nothing against you personally, I’m just very passionate about this topic, so don't take this as me being aggressive towards you, its just a rant.
      Anyways...I will probably not change the trigger back and hear me out. It’s all about the risks you’re willing to take (risk of using a heavier trigger that you are not as proficient with, or risk of court judging you for using a lighter trigger to take someone's life). For me, I have no problem articulating to other people WHY I have that trigger in there. It makes me more effective to use the gun to do its job: fire a round accurately. And if I am drawing my weapon, then that person has already crossed the deadly force threshold, so its my life or theirs at that point. I am confident in my decision making skills to know when that is appropriate.
      But I do agree with you, *too* light is not safe, just for the sake of not ND'ing into my nuts. But I would argue that this trigger specifically, at around ~4/4.5lbs (see Lenny Magill's video testing the Glock Performance Trigger) it is still on par with a lot of stock triggers. Even stock triggers get down to around that much after a couple thousand rounds of use and abuse because friction on the trigger bar smooths out. So calling it a "hair trigger" gives me the same cringe as calling a rifle an "assault weapon." So I don't classify this one as a "hair trigger".
      Additionally, I was actually less consistent with a heavier trigger. I would have several flyers in a group because the heavier pull made me less accurate through the wall and onto the break. Also, the shape of the OEM trigger contributed to that. So this flat face actually helps me pull straight back, and I KNOW when it will break. Therefore I am more consistent and can hit my intended target, which is actually *safer*.
      On hollow points, my argument is similar. They're actually safer than single piece slug rounds in that they do not over penetrate. Hollow points are also not designed to kill people. They have better ballistics when they hit a soft target to NOT go through the target. FMJ penetrates further. In public this is very bad. You are way more likely to hit innocent bystanders. This is also why police use hollow points. To STOP their threat, NOT kill their threat. They almost always go immediately into life-saving mode shooting the perp. This is a weak argument to use on the prosecutions part because its just wrong. Best practice is to ask your local PD what rounds they carry, and use those.
      Finally, Kyle Rittenhouse won that case and is still alive so I would argue he got the better end of the deal. I'm probably taking this to the extreme but I’m sure you’ve heard this saying before too: “I’d rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.” If a lighter trigger is what keeps me on the better side of the ground, then I'm all for it. Plus, a prosecutor in court is going to attack EVERYTHING about me, not just my gun and round choices. Instead of conceding to that prosecutor's opinions about hollow points and "hair triggers", who doesn't know which end of a gun the bullet comes out, I would rather hire a good lawyer who can help me articulate my reasonings behind. So I’d argue it’s more important to train a shit ton, know your capabilities, and be able to articulate your thoughts with words rather than keeping a gun stock just to please a lawyer (and possibly making you a less effective shooter/more dangerous shooter in a real life scenario).
      Thanks for listening to my TED talk lol. And again nothing personal, but I respectfully disagree with just about everything you said.

    • @Jeeper906
      @Jeeper906 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @reviewsofequipment listen, i agree with you. You should be able to change the trigger to something you are more proficient with. And a 4.5lb trigger pull is not too light. That is about the pull weight of most every other carry gun on the market. Honestly, glock should just put that trigger in all its guns from the factory because the stock trigger at 5.86lbs is so bad people feel like the only option they have to shoot the gun well is replace the trigger.
      However, this won't stop prosecutors from using anything and everything about the gun and you personally in court to win their case. I don't think that is right. It's just the world we live in.
      All that aside, i like your gun. It's set up well.

    • @defencivsolutions
      @defencivsolutions  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was worried about the same thing too but I found the auto brightness setting to actually adjust to the light of my target area really well. In complete darkness the SCS dims way down so you aren't blinded, and then when I turn on the Inforce it adjusts to the light bouncing back from the target. But I could maybe see it being an issue at more extreme distances (50yd +). The manual mode on the SCS is just one brightness that doesn't change, I don't recommend that setting for low light, its too bright.

The whole point of the Talon Grips is to save money on a stippling job. Radian ramjets cost almost as much as the gun, and it shoots flat as it is. The trigger is upgraded, watch the video. The magwell comes flared from the factory, I talked about that too. And the device you typed that on was made in China, so…good one?

The best setup for EDC is 43x with RMR (Holosun 507Kx2), johnny glock combat trigger, Trijicon HD orange front sight to co witness with RMR, red laser (armalaser grip activated). Now, that is the perfect EDC setup. I have a 19. It is my SHTF pistol.

      I shot with a hand held light during my entire military career. I'm proficient with it but it is much, much harder to be accurate with multiple rounds since you cannot get a solid or consistent grip on the gun with your support hand. WML is definitely better and a hand held light does not provide significant advantages.
