Night Fighting Rifles | GBRS x Cobalt Kinetics Project Poseidon
Building out your rifle to be capable at night can be a huge asset to add to your tool box. But unfortunately, IR-capable optics, lasers, and flashlights come at a price. Is it worth building out your rifle to be Night Vision capable?

I like the suede wrap on the incog. I don’t want plastic resting against my body for hours on end. This is something not enough people think about (i also carry an aluminum frame pistol)
I just recently purchased as Gen 5 19 MOS and I am looking at buying the Holosun SCS as well. Glad to hear so many good reviews. It really seems like the perfect optic.
I got 2 young kids so bugging out, on foot, is last resort. I still have all the backpacks and gear because I do a lot of backpacking and camping. But, for me, having a capable vehicle to get out is a must. I’ve invested quite a bit in making my 4Runner TRD Off-road as capable as possible without making it look tactical or annoying as a daily driver. I strategically live in a semi rural area so there isn’t going to be mass riots where I wouldn’t be able to get out like a city.
My HD, duty, and USPSA pistol is a gen 4 Glock 17 that I had milled for a RMR. Trijicon iron sights, Streamlight TRL1HD, and a professional stipple/undercut job. Internals are all stock minus a Overwatch connector. I’ve had the gun for over a decade and tens of thousands of rounds. Only thing I’ve done is replace springs. I’ve thought of getting a fancier gun like a Staccato but I have so much time and confidence with my G17, it just doesn’t seem worth it, FOR ME. I just use that $ for more ammo and training. My EDC is a Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS with a SRO on Forward Controls plate, Trijicon irons, Overwatch connector, TRL7A, and professional undercut job. I recently picked up a ARC Division ported slide but it’s still in testing until I’m confident to use it for anything serious.
BCM 14.5” with SF Flash hider for my RC2, Geisslee SSA trigger, EXPS3 and 3x magnifier on Unity mount, Surefire mini scout with vampire head to use with NV, BCM VFG, K2 grip, Raptor SD charging handle, Flatline Fiber padded sling, paint job.
Just bought me a Glock 19 lipsey exclusive tan frame with black slide and I love it. I haven’t shot it yet since I just got it yesterday but will deff need to get that red dot sight
The fork and knife lockpick has me deaddd!!😂😂😂😂 also my edc is a glock 43x mos and i would like to go with a glock 45 for my purpose driven build, or would you recommend something else?
Haha I'm glad you noticed 😂I personally have a G43X, G19, and G47 (which if you swap slides with the G19, turns into a G45). I think the G45 is a fantastic option for purpose-pistol builds
What about the CZ SHADOW 2 COMPACT??
Haven't shot one but Im not a fan of EDCing hammer fired or DA/SA guns. Just not my thing
Great vid I run the incog X.
Hell yeah!
Did the Kagwerks lever cause any scratching on the slide?
You can bend them outward a little bit (its difficult but if you use pliers it can be done). I have one on my G19, G47, and G43X. G19 was the guinea pig so it caused slight scratching. I fixed it entirely on my G47, didnt scratch at all. Then on the G43X, I decided idgaf and just let it happen lol
Nice setup bro 🔥👍 I'm currently building a Glock 19 Gen 5 which I added Talon Grips and Goon Tape 🔥 I just love the look and feel it gives 👌
Thanks dude!
Sorry the background music is distracting to me and I can’t hear what you are saying.
I agree with you. I've changed the video style a lot since this video
Woah that threw me for a loop, I was absolutely not expecting to see my local gun shop and range on youtube😂 I love white birch
They're awesome! I made the 2 most recent videos on their TH-cam channel
lol yeah wild, recently moved to the area and was going to check this place out soon
A pinned and welded 14.5 typically has a longer muzzle device to get to 16”. They are about an inch shorter than 16” barrel with a standard none welded muzzle device.
Correct, just different things to think about. If the NFA didn't exist, none of this would even be relevant 😂
EDC a G19X with SL Incog X. Amazing combo. Even with 19 rd mags, still works fantastic.
19X is a nice one
Needs a radian ramjet. I have one and love it. I also have an OverWatch tac trigger. 8 years is Glock OEM rail only the trigger itself is not but I prefer flat faced
I would like to try the Ramjet and Afterburner, they're just pricey
@@defencivsolutionsfor lack of better term pull the trigger and buy one brother you will not be disappointed. Just put it on your credit card and don't tell the wife lol
Build is super clean, how much for the setup?
I don't quite remember the price of each part but it adds up quick. Probably close to $1k
Are the enforce lights worth it?
I have not had any issues with them. Cheaper alternatives to some expensive lights on the market
Loved the video
My current do-it-all rifle is a 16” Q Sugar Weasel upper, BCM MK2 lower with Geissele trigger and Radian controls, Surefire scout with Unity switch, PA PLXc 1-8x w/ One Hundred concepts hex lens cover on a Scaler Works QD mount, w/ a Leupold Delta Point Pro at 45° offset. I did throw on some MBUS 3 for backup irons as a just-in-case. They’re lightweight weight and durable enough. The rifle is lightweight, super reliable, super accurate, and has enough versatility with optics that it’s my go-to. I have complete 14.5 and 16” BCM builds that I love, but my Q/BCM build feels the most versatile.
Dude that is a sick setup!
Are those outserts for C21 ballistic rated or meet ballistic protection standards?
Good question honestly. I am not entirely sure, but they feel super thick and sturdy. Here is their website, I could not find if they were Z87+ rated or anything but you're welcome to take a look. www.mirasafety.com/products/mira-safety-visor-outserts-c21-gas-mask
Put the gun down, kid. You need to start thinking about dating girls. Try it. 👍
I get rifle length is useful but I run 16" to keep it simple. I am 6'5 so not hiding shit, and i can manipulate it fine. If i need it short it is 10.5 or 12.5. I don't plan to clear house if i need the gun for doomsday. I am gaining distance not closing it.
Totally understandable
Well said, if your smart you will be actively avoiding people and I would rather have the extra velocity and a LPVO for better target ID and no risk of battery failure with the etched glass, plus if your defending your home you will be posted up and having a shorter barrel length won’t help much. 🤙
@@Rwilks153 Agreed!
I’m in love ❤❤with
Its quite the piece
If we're wearing feed sacks for shirts, concealment shouldn't be much of an issue.
😂Fair enough
I have that back plate on my 21. Adds a little bit of class.
Yeah just adds a little bit of personality to it. Nothing crazy
Great upload, love what you did with it ✊🏾💯
Thank you!
Nice
Thanks!
best edc on youtube
I carry a golden gun. So I try not to take too many shots because for the cost of a box of ammo I could either save 200 puppies or 3 villages . But that’s not the point here.
Hmm interesting
Great video very K.I.S.S. i got a trl 8a streamlight on my glock 19 gen 5. will it fit in the incog x????
Yes I believe the Incogs are originally designed for the TLR series. The laser on the bottom of the TLR-8A *might* give you trouble but I'm not sure. I would check with Safariland first
Nice job man! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you!
Looking for a holster. Thanks for introducing me to the incog x. Time to do more research on it!
Thanks for watching!
16" gov profile, lpvo, and a light with lens cover
Simple and effective. Perfect setup
Built mine just like this. Thanks for the inspiration 🫂
No problem bro. Glad you liked it!
welp found my blueprint for my next build...
Hell yeah
Where’s the flannel shirt. Maybe a fanny pack
Shiiiii you right, if you're not wearing a flannel are you really a gun guy? 😂 I did do a fanny pack video though, check out my banned state EDC video: th-cam.com/video/H0eAtq--29U/w-d-xo.html
@4:07 “that’s just the nature of the beast” … I see what you did there king.
Unintentional but I'll take the W 😂
I use a caliper and I wouldn't just let it go, but cool pistol.
That leather ver looks very nice! want one
Agreed!
16 inch BCM ELW with Primary Arms Micro prism and a 3x magnifier. Also have a 1-6 SFP LPVO, but the extra weight and finicky eyebox aren’t my favorite go to set up. Cloud Defensive Rein 3.0 weapon light and a sling.
How is the ELW? I have been wanting to pick up one of those uppers
It’s been great. Accurate enough and doesn’t seem to heat up terribly fast.
@@jluvnklee That's the only issue I have had with the MCMR upper. Heats up pretty quick
Well done, sir! Many seemingly quality products that peaked my interest…Salute and a subscribe from a Marine. 🫡
Thanks brother. Always enjoyed workin you guys!
paid mira review.... as always
I was not paid for this. They wanted me to test their product against the Avon C50/FM50 as they are direct competitors
Dude said the gen 3 didn’t have enough support 😂
I don't think I ever said that. I said it did not have the features I was looking for.
Good video but you left out some important information. MIRA does offer a voice projection unit as well.
Their VPU is not integral to the mask like the Avon FM50. Also, the VPU's mic is not compatible (yet?) with the C21 to my knowledge.
👍
Excellent knowledge video. Thank you for making this! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe!
Thank you! You as well
whats life of filter if mounted and ready to go?
Provided you store the whole mask in dry, room-temp conditions, I would imagine its not much different than not mounted. You could also store the whole mask ready to go in a dry bag and you'd be much better off. Once they are exposed to toxins, the shelf life decreases significantly. Normal shelf lives: NBC-77 SOF: 20 years FM671EU: 5.5 years
That plastic knife is a great idea until u get caught.. once caught and face jail time or fines your opinion will change. Plenty of ppl have defended themselves in a area where there not allowed to carry a weapon and have still gone to jail
Everything in this video is 100% legal where I live. And even if you have a 100% legal self defense shooting, you still might end up in jail. No point in worrying about it, that's something that is more dependent on your ability to make good decisions than the item you are carrying.
Aside from flashin’ your belly 100x, I appreciate the demonstration of drawing and reholstering. Most reviews just parrot features ad nauseam. I’m looking for a good appendix carry for the Sig P365XL and a light.
Lol yeah man not much I can do about that when filming a holster video. I would definitely recommend the Incog for your P365
