    No lie, l went through about the same journey. Started with a gen1 m&p just to be different, later bought a gen4 glock19 then i thought it would be easier to carry 26 but it never took. I later sold the gen4 and bought a gen5 19 mos, installed a rmr and bought a custom t1 concealment holster. I am now completely hooked and can not bring myself to carry anything else. I have no carry rotation, it is just the glock 19 every day.

    I've always liked & owned Glocks until a few years ago (4) then I started listening to every Body about try this brand or that brand and I did. I tried Smith and Wesson, Sig Sauer, Springfield....I really liked the Springfield until it wouldn't load my favorite Self Defense ammo reliable so I ended up going full circle back to Glocks. I've got a 43x mos with a Red-Dot, 48, and a 19 ...so I'm a Glock fan boy I guess 🤪

    I started out with big revolvers, the 1911, then Desert Eagle, and whatever suited my fancy at the time; but after seriously getting into guns how they work and shooting I got a Glock 27 and after learning the simplicity of the Glock design and realizing it has 3 internal safties I was hooked and years later I own many Glocks. My favorite carry right now is the 48 MOS but nightstand is the 19X .

    I've owned a few Glocks for years and you can run the Stock Glock Sights with no issues if you take care of your weapon. I've been down the road of Micro 9mm and different Brands of pistols. I'm now doing a full circle back to the Glock family and I'm Loving it...currently I own a Glock G43x Mos With out a red dot...coming soon a G19 & G26 Gen 5

      Ive had the 26 gen 5 for a while now and am looking at getting the 19 gen 5. Was going to get the 43 or 43x. Only thing was i hate the slim grip guns. I can just never shoot them correctly no matter how many rounds i put through them.

    I absolutely love to see a new convert to the world of Block. A 26, a 19, and a 17/21L/34 is the perfect set to have on hand. I also have the 43 and 43X, because I didn't want any lil' Block babies getting left out. I also did the 30, 21, 41. But seriously, it is perfectly fine to say I drank the
    KOOL-AID. A Block is a Block, and you'll either love them or hate them. But you'll never know until you shoot one. Your set is very close to mine, so have fun, and don't shoot your eye out. 😉😊

  • @chrism2042
    @chrism2042 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Owned Glocks since the early 90's, G17, G19, G20, G21. For many years, Glocks were the only pistols I owned except for a couple 1911's. Approx. 12+ years ago, I wanted to try the M&P, so I purchased a full size 9mm, then another, then a 45acp and more. After several years of shooting the M&P, with the first 2 full size 1.0 having well over 10k rounds each of mostly steel case ammo, and never replaced a part, no issues with any of the M&P's, I no longer care to shoot the Glocks. I like the full size pistols but the M&P 4" compact is like the G19, just seems to be the perfect size.
    I can say of all the pistols I have owned and do own, only one of them completely stopped and luckily it was on the range and not in a defense situation. A gen 4 G19 (with less than 400 rounds through it). Within 2 shots, the trigger went from the standard 5.5+ lbs glock trigger to completely bound up. Took it apart to find excess plastic on the striker spring cups which appeared to be left on after coming out of the mold. The excess plastic caused the striker to bind up in the striker sleeve and stopped the gun. After replacing the spring cups and striker sleeve, the gun ran great. But, a $0.02 plastic part completely stopped so-called "perfection". That made me decide to never purchase another Glock. I will stick with the M&P which is as reliable as a Glock.

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I have to say the M&P line is pretty solid. If a new shooter was asking which to pick between the two I just might send them that direction. Especially from a value standpoint.

    They are great pistols, so much so I bought one myself (G19.5 MOS). It's my 3rd G19 and the Gen 5's are a massive step up from the Gen 4's. That said I see a Glock 23.5 MOS in my near future too, exactly the same platform; just a bigger caliber and my preferred caliber.
    Glad you like yours and that you're actually carrying it.

    There is a reason that the G19 is the number one best selling handgun of all time. I just traded a friend for his wifes G19 Gen5 Mos, even up for my Sig P365XL. She has very small hands and loved my Sig. So I thought about it and told him if they wanted to trade that I would. He said he was thinking about offering a trade himself, so we traded. I like the G19 better and wanted a handgun I could feel good about owning thru a SHTF situation. What better handgun than the G19 with parts everywhere and Glock durability. Also I can take down a Glock and put it back together in less than 3 minutes. Try that with a P226 or almost any other gun. None better for a field take down and clean and oil or repair. Simplicity and reliability of a Glock

    I used glock in the early 2000's for work and i bought a couple for my self i left my country for several years and sold them i came back and bought some different brands i had glocks i wanted something different i got a M&P 2.0 compact 4" fde and a CZ P10f also a P09 and a walther PDP long story short i was not 100% happy and i got a 17 gen 5 FS no MOS and i was back in the game i fell again i sold the other ones and now have also a 19x and a 19 mos ordered another 19x and a 45 mos as soon as they arrive ill order another 19 mos
    Guns choice is extremely personal many many things are involved in that gun owner relationship glocks work for me i their ergonomics work for me i don't change any internals just a jentra plug and trijicon night sights i plan to install red dots on a couple of them but not my carry G19 I'm old school i don't trust red dots outside a controlled space fogging dust lint water sweat all I've seen get into the emitter i live in the tropics every place has air conditioning humidity outside average 85+ we have rain 9 months of the year so no not for CC here but home defense i will give it a try on the G45 mos

    What's funny is through your trials and tribulations you ended up with the exact same setup I have which I just stumbled into with my first and only handgun lol. I've never owned anything else other than what I have, including the accessories. I guess I got it all right on the first go it seems. I have an early 19 gen 5 (bought it right when they came out) with a tier 1 axis elite, holosun 508t, and inforce APLc. Love all of it, never considered changing the setup. Just my 2 cents, the Holosun blows the RMR out of the water in every way. I've shot both and the Holosun is definitely superior. Clearer glass with much less distortion, better battery tray, solar backup, titanium frame, and auto adjusting brightness.

    • @MagDumpGuns

      That’s awesome you got it on the first go! Much cheaper that way… I am a holosun fan as well, I’ve just had the RMR mounted for a while and won’t switch unless I run into issues. Plenty of other holosuns on other stuff though so I trust them. Would probably replace with an EPS carry or 509t if I ever get the notion.

      Same here, Gen 3 Glock 19 was my first handgun in 2015 and it's still my only doublestack. I've shot a lot of other "wonder 9s" and none of them made me feel like I was missing anything. Accessories and gear sure, but not a totally different handgun. I had my slide milled for a Delta Point Pro and currently have an X300 Turbo on it. I think its relatively future proof at this point. Looking forward to a lifetime of shooting the perfect handgun

    It’s funny how so many of us guys wanna trash on Glock before giving them a chance. They’re very lightweight guns in comparison to the competition. This is partly because they’re carbon steel instead of stainless, and very minimalistic. I wouldn’t be able to carry something bigger than a 19. I’d have to go smaller, meaning I wouldn’t be able to have a RMR 2 or large pistol red dot. The G19 is still the Goldilocks perfect size. Even the stock gen 5s are good. Grip texturing that’s any rougher would be uncomfortable to conceal carry. People that say you need to replace everything on a Glock haven’t shot that many stock ones.

    Really good rundown. You mentioned the grip being a lil' cramped. Have you considered dremeling an undercut on the trigger guard? While I find the factory flared magwell on gen 5's to be perfectly acceptable, an aftermarket magwell could also help gain some room - though it may cause unwanted printing.
    If'n ya decide to do a vid comparing Glawks, I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on G19 vs G45 grip height ...namely ease of EDC concerning concealabilty & consistently getting a firm grip (high on the backstrap) during draw stroke. Thanks!

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did an undercut on my Gen 4 19 and didn't feel like it did enough to warrant doing it again on this one. I have considered a magwell. I have an SLR magwell on my 45 and I think on the 19 it would work great to really lock my grip into place.

      I own both and prefer the 45 for my large hands. I have tried to love the 19 but I carry it the least. It prints like a full size, but has a cramped grip and holds less rounds. The G45 / TLR7A is my go to for carry and nightstand duty. If concealment is an issue I pack a 26. Nice to have options.

    Do you still carry a Glock 22 at work? That's what I am required to carry for my job when outside the facility. That's also part of the reason I'm going to be buying the Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS; they should be similar enough that I can stay in practice with the G19 for when I need to do my requalification for work. And yes, I think I'm going to have a similar light and optic setup on my eventually.

Millions of people run Glocks extremely well with the slight difference in grip angle. It’s a mole hill of an issue. Same with the grip dimensions. The only XDs you will ever see in competitions are from Springfield sponsored shooters. Glocks on the other hand are EVERYWHERE. There is a reason.

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was not a huge fan of the SCS. The one I shot didn’t have a very crisp dot and personally I didn’t care for a green dot (vs red). If I was to switch this one out it would be for one of the enclosed emitter options.

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a whole other discussion! 2011s are neat but won’t put up with neglect and abuse like these. Also for an entry level staccato you can buy this g19 and probably 6-7 cases of ammo for the price of the comparable C2. Not completely against the platform, there’s just a lot to consider when going down that road.

    Good pistol. Have one myself. M&Ps are still better. Glocks hype is overrated. It’s a decent pistol at best. , mag release , steel sights, lifetime warranty on m&p make it better for the money. Triggers have also always been better. You don’t understand the hype. Your just playing into it. Any pistol can be good if it fits you right. Minus Taurus lol

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      M&Ps are without a doubt fantastic. I don’t know if I would say a Gen 1 m&p trigger was better than any glock trigger I’ve felt though. I also have to give Glock credit for being the simplest handgun to detail strip, and the availability of holsters and other accessories is unparalleled. Out of the box though I think it’s super hard to beat an M&P 2.0.

      @spaceman063 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I totally agree with you on the beautiful m&p 9mm 2.0, the angle of the handle is at the right angle and the quality is equal or better than glocks in most cases!
