    Gracias por tu sacrificio, me encanta esto! I’ve watched a few of your videos before and found them helpful (I always kept this tip in the back of my mind but hadn’t put it to full use yet)! Today I became a subscriber, I’m excited for more of these videos! I was floored at how slow it sounds the second time around 🙌🏼. This method really works! I have been self teaching since January but recently began seriously considering taking a class or course to help me progress further, faster. After watching both of these videos about 3x each.. I clicked on the link and signed up for your beginner’s AND advanced course tonight! I’m excited to get started!

      If you go back through his videos, he did one specifically talking about the differences in Puerto Rican Spanish, and one of them was using “l” instead of “r” in certain places.
      Also, often they don’t pronounce “s” - so it sounds like “mucha gracia” or “como e(h)ta” instead of “muchas gracias” and “como estas”. I love it! 😍🇵🇷

    I’m so grateful with these lessons on listening comprehension. I know Spanish, but the Puerto Rican accent is very difficult for me to understand sometimes because I’m used to understanding a Mexican accent. As a Spanish speaker and teacher, it’s important for me to understand the different dialects and accents!

    • @SpeakSpanishFaster
      @SpeakSpanishFaster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching Sammy! Yes, people don't understand how it can be difficult even for Native Spanish speakers to understand other accents. For example, I'm watching la casa de papel on Netflix and I struggle to understand without the subtitles lol.

      @@SpeakSpanishFaster me too haha! Add in the cultural connotations and slang of Spain, and boom, I don’t understand anything they’re saying 😂 as a language learner, you have to know that there’s always more to learn because language is so beautiful and vast :)

      same idea as telling time

    • @mistym0rning
      @mistym0rning 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ...because 25 euros/dollars are plural.
      So basically instead of saying “that’s 25 dollars” as you would in English, you’re saying “those are 25 dollars” in Spanish.
      If you paid for something and it was exactly 1 euro or dollar, you’d say “es 1€” in Spanish, because 1 dollar or euro is singular. Two dollarS or euroS are plural (see the “s” at the end?).
      Hope that helps a tiny bit 🤪

    Great video and very helpful. I like the combination of "real" Spanish and neutral Spanish. I have a suggestion that I've seen on some other TH-cam videos: it would be great if you could put links in the description with the start timestamp of each conversation so we can just click on the link to "rewind" if we need to hear one of the conversations again. I look forward to more like this!

    I live in Spain and have been studying Spanish for the past 3 years. These lessons (and method) were just what I was looking for. I can speak enough Spanish to get by, but quite often get lost on the responses I get. My weakness is understanding what others are saying. You are helping sort out this weakness. I will definitely be using your lessons each day. Thank you for coming up with this innovative method. The fact that you don’t speak clearly, but as you naturally would is exactly what happens in real life.
