This came just at the right time for me as my mind is currently having an anxious meltdown about planning my Camino (de Santiago) trip. It's so absurd that something which should be a joyful is a source of stress because of all the uncertainty involved. I'll keep reminding myself that it's just my brain trying to keep me safe.
Yesss see??? You can apply this to ANYTHING! Really happy to see you using this information to calm your nerves. One little hack that I love to use is every time I catch myself thinking "what if..." and I'm going down a despairing spiral of gloom at all the horrible things that could happen, I match it with "what ifs" that are amazing and great and a visualisation of things working out wonderfully! Because they're just as likely to happen! Side note: I'm super envious! I've always wanted to do the Camino de Santiago!
@@AdellBridges That's a great idea. In fact, in my experience the positive what ifs are much more likely than the negative ones! I would really recommend doing the camino if you can find the time for it. I've done other routes of it before, and I can say the days spent on it were among the most inner-peaceful and rewarding of my life.
Thank you so much!! This is so helpful! I know there’s room for improvement with how I make these videos so please let me know if you have any feedback 🫶🫶
Thanks for the amazing video on an incredible powerful topic (simplified ) . Understanding The human systems core (nervous system ) is so empowering on so many levels . understanding our systems perimeters helps engineer life .Better for individual function and the mass human population
@@mattylamb658 yes! It’s all quite the same really; something happens so our brain tries to protect us from it happening again and in so doing we lose a little bit of quality of life. But if we can teach the brain that we are safe then we can undo this pattern and get the quality back!
Good analogy Adell...not committing to kicking up into handstand and floating etc. My brain really does stop me from flying, nice one, great video. PS...Love your quirkiness 😊❤🙌
It's so common haha and people really don't like to hear that the best most effective remedy for it is to learn how to fall but it's true! My next video is on that topic though ;-) And thank you for the feedback! The quirkiness isn't going anywhere lol as I don't know how to turn that off 🤪🤪🤪
Loved this! Thank you so much, this made so much sense. Hopefully I can get my brain to cooperate in safety mode more when it comes to falling out of poses…. Makes so much sense. Thank you! 🙏
Yay I’m so glad to read it made sense haha I’m always wondering if my way of explaining things is effective 😆 And yessss keep asking yourself “how can I give my brain MORE INFORMATION in a way that keeps it feeling safe?” when working on your balance. Fun way to get creative too 😘
Hiii!! It's more than a workshop, actually hehe. It's an in-depth training (80 hours in total!) that includes self-paced pre-course material and live calls over the four weekends in October (all recorded so you don't have to attend every bit of it). And then follow-up calls afterwards to help you further integrate the information. You can see all the details here: adellbridgesyoga.com/neuroyoga-teacher-training If you have any questions just contact me through the form and we can chat about it!
