The fact you can't get the attachment unit separately is the thing that pisses me off the most about this. Which is a shame because if you don't give half a shit about rumble or NFC, the Split Pad is a really nice controller.
I'd always thought that the hori split pads were made not wireless and didn't have rumble because Nintendo didn't wanted for a third party manufacturer to have a better product than their joycons
Yeah many think that and it could be true, I asked HORI about why they don't have wireless etc. but they said it was an internal decision, whether that is influenced by Nintendo I don't know!
I wonder if the joycon that is essentially just A normal Joy-Con but with A d-pad and that can't be used wirelessly that is also by hori can also be used with this accessory? I also just generally wonder if any non-wireless controller that utilizes the Joy-Con slots can work with this accessory. And if normal Joy-Cons can just work with this accessory too.
This is super frustrating. I have the gengar compacts, i have no desire for split pad pro's, and i don't really want to spend £50 on a controller where i dont actually need half of said controller. If they sold the attachment on it's own i would buy it in a heart beat. For now, i'll shove it in my basket and think about it.
@@Obakedake even though they sell it in the US, they want crazy high $10 shipping as the cheapest option, putting the attachment at $40 USD plus tax... plus whatever you paid for the compacts. wild.
So annoying the Split pad Attachment doesn't ship to Germany. I would have to order a whole split Pad and attachment bundle but I already own the Split Pad compact in Apricot
No, you cannot. You can physically attach the Wizard to the attachment unit, but they don't start working over the wire. I'm unsure if it will charge them, but I kinda doubt it. Source: Me. I tried it.
@@benhur2069 I'm not sure if you're asking about the Hori Attachment Set or the Nyxi. I'll answer both Hori: Works absolutely fine on PC. Windows picks it up as an XInput controller. The fact that ZL and ZR aren't analogue might confuse some games that are expecting that and make use of that, but that's an issue with the games. Nyxi: I'm not actually certain because I've not tested it. However, I'm pretty sure you could use them on PC same as you can use official joycons or Pro Controllers; that is, through Bluetooth. I can, however, tell you that Windows does not detect one of the Wizard halves if plugged in with a USB-C cable. I've not tried with the charging thing from Nyxi because I don't have one yet.
I wouldnt say its a scheme, though overpriced. Ur paying for a relative high quality controller with a new function, u really cant expect them to be cheap without breaking several human rights. With the middle part, I would perhaps wait till its down to 50 bucks, but 20 is simply unrealistic.
They definitely should add the option of buying the attachment alone, without any additional split pads, for around the £20 mark but yeah I've seen these attachment sets with the split pads on sale for around £55 and I think that's pretty good considering the split pads alone are around £50.
@@128KB I personally still dont got a Hori and would either get them with or without the attachment or the NYXI ones, so dont care that much about getting the attachments alone tbh
@@128KB ah thanks sorry for more newbie questions, so i can play with someone else who has a pro controller on the same switch splitscreen like portal 2?
I think they just need to drop hori and just contract with nyxi instead because so far those split dads are the only ones that really give you all features for the most part, hori makes nice looking but cheap controllers
If they sold the attachment separately it's a great way to get more functionality out of your pre-existing Split Pad controllers. Shame it isn't wireless though.

They could have just added a seperate battery in the attachment or just gave the actual splut pads their own battery and fix these issue

You can get the attachment on the HORI website

Hey dawg I heard you liked attachments. So we made an attachment for your attachment so that you can attach while your are attached.
Does it work with normal Joycons though making it wired?
Can you put the new Nyxi Wizard controllers with this? That would make a great video
