Beautiful lighting and image! Great video! Cheers! I'm looking at MOLA or MOLA Alternative Beauty Dishes. Great shape of lighting. Really beautiful! Cheers!
Great modifiers. I have a Demi and a 16" silver Rayo. I would like a Setti, having watched Emily Soto's work with it over the years. Alas, there is no European dealer anymore, so getting hold of them is virtually inpossible / massively expensive. Mola will ship direct to the UK, but a $1000 modifier becomes a $2000 modifier! :(
@Bob Greaves My brother flies from London to NY and back every week. He might be able to bring it to you if you are interested. Probably covering the large luggage would be an extra cost. I would have to ask.
@@LenaCabana That's very kind of you, though as you say, the excess baggage charge might be a little high. I'm keeping my eye out for second hand in the UK now TBH :)
@@bobgreaves1716 I do not know the cost yet, but I am buying one for myself and it needs to go through UK (my brother) and then to Poland...which is much more complicated and more expansive. If I get information I can let you know, what's the cost of this size of the luggage. However - good luck with the second hand one! Maybe that is your solution :)
i have not used a beauty dish. i would love the opportunity. i am still at the umbrella stage. i don't know what the mola setti costs (i am assuming a fair amount) but the image at 5:25 is a solid money shot and if this beauty dish helps you get those quality of images, then your talent and money spent are a good match. thank you for the effort and the sharing. thumbs up.
It is indeed on the pricier side if one is used to more affordable softboxes but well worth it in my opinion. Unlike cameras that we change often, modifiers are to me a wiser investment since normally we keep those for like ever :) I do have a link on the description so you can check current pricing if you are in the US. And nothing wrong with umbrellas at all. You can create awesome images with all of them, just a matter of the exact look you want and how much post etc. The Setti just seems to get me where I want to be very quickly. Thanks so much for watching and the kind words!

Hello. If the beauty dish is one tool you use a lot I would buy one from a place that allows returns so you can test it. In my opinion, these beauty dishes have no equal but we are all different so my preference doesn't mean you will feel the same way. Right now I use a lot of the Setti with the 20 degree grid sand the Demi with the 20 degree grid as well. Are usually the two I am using list often. Thank you!!
@@LuisGabrielPhotography it was an awesome video about the Mola Setti and I am really impressed. @@petertruong83 Hello. Yes indeed is all a process of learning the tools to get the most of them. For instance, I feel that my latest work with the Setti using a 20º grid delivers much closer to finish photos than what I did on this video so that means faster turnarounds and less post processing. But yes, post processing is indeed a great skill to learn for sure. I am happy you liked the video and thanks for the kind words! :)
@@LuisGabrielPhotography (update) i just got a silver Mola Demi not Mola Setti. The light is very gentle and smoothly (very similar to the deep parabolic 90cm however more light falling off from top if you stay too close, you can fix it by moving further away the object or placing the reflection underneath). Overall, it fulfill what I need, softer light and better intensity, however the contrast seems reducing when compare to the smaller beauty dish (42cm), i might have to increase the saturation a bit more
Excellent video and review. I have had this beauty dish in a box for 6 years and have never used it because I bought it impulsively and never really knew which strobe to pair it with. I got to try my AD600 before getting the AD600 Pro and it was very similar in look for the quick test I did so you should be fine.
