I came to this same consideration that the essential essence of being content and able to cope in life and relationships is being able to cope on your own so the next hurdle / challenge is how to start working on how to find the pattern to loving yourself if you don’t or haven’t for some time.

This really resonated w/me - I got so tired of being blocked everywhere by him. He came on so strong even though I told him I wasn't ready/available & then finally let him in but he had health issues - goes into the hospital for surgery and reconciles w/his wife that he had been separated from for years and me...he just dismissed but worse, blocked. I don't know what I've been trying to prove to myself to get him to show he's still interested in me until just the other night I decided I've had enough and was pampering myself to spa treatments & really felt better. I don't have to convince myself I love myself because I really do! I'm amazing!!!

Thank You...that was very interesting information as I was brought up by a Narcissistic Personality Disorder Mother and lived in fear since 3 years old and therefore low self esteem etc etc which I thought I was hiding. Luckily the terrible toxicity of the home did not kill the empath in me as I just kept on helping and being needed like the real Mother. It gave me such a great gift and love for and with animals. I came to this same consideration that the essential essence of being content and able to cope in life and relationships is being able to cope on your own so the next hurdle / challenge is how to start working on how to find the pattern to loving yourself if you don’t or haven’t for some time.
this is all so true. I haven't perfected the self-love thing yet, but sometimes I force myself to do or say things that I feel might result in losing him, but are in my best interest. I just cross my fingers and hope things turn out okay. He likes me much more when I act this way. One day I hope to do this without the fear. Fake it until you make it.

This really resonated w/me - I got so tired of being blocked everywhere by him. He came on so strong even though I told him I wasn't ready/available & then finally let him in but he had health issues - goes into the hospital for surgery and reconciles w/his wife that he had been separated from for years and me...he just dismissed but worse, blocked. I don't know what I've been trying to prove to myself to get him to show he's still interested in me until just the other night I decided I've had enough and was pampering myself to spa treatments & really felt better. I don't have to convince myself I love myself because I really do! I'm amazing!!!

Thank You...that was very interesting information as I was brought up by a Narcissistic Personality Disorder Mother and lived in fear since 3 years old and therefore low self esteem etc etc which I thought I was hiding. Luckily the terrible toxicity of the home did not kill the empath in me as I just kept on helping and being needed like the real Mother. It gave me such a great gift and love for and with animals.
