This is near exactly the type of BMW 6 series (coupe) I have been trying to find; Black body, black leather interior, operating roof, 2 door, automatic gear box. The only problem is that I just can't find any second handers. It just seems so rare.
Should you buy a 640d? YES! I have the GranCoupe. I have had it remapped to 400bhp & 800NM and I can assure you it is a monster. I paid £28k for mine (67) with every spec ticked from new (incl) pan roof! I took the car on a rally through Europe with serious motors, (M5’s, RS6, S5, C63) you name it! & every other owner commented on the performance of the car. This isn’t a over dramatic/biased opinion, the car is a serious weapon. During our stint in Germany as mine has been de-restricted I managed to hit 180 and believe me I actually think it would of kept going! (All caught of video)
@@GymTokShortForm mine is 400bhp with 800nm in Germany I hit 180mph and I was convoying on a rally with some serious toys and when we pulled into the services they asked me to open my bonnet as they couldn’t believe I kept with them without even breaking a sweat, and on the plus side….I didn’t need to fill up! @@InvictusMotors the rod bearings have a much higher failure rate than the m57 generation. It’s all over the forums maybe not that likely but something to think about. I do still want one but the possibility of a rod bearing or chain failing is daunting. If it were to fail having the 640i (n55) would probably work out to be a lot cheaper.
@@Adam-xe5xm that’s wrong mate the n57 in the 640d has similar bearing failures. No need to ask me just google it. They aren’t anywhere near as bad the S85 but it’s still a common problem that you should worry about probably above 100k.

£170 VED ? No, not yet anyway. Cars with list price over £40k pay an additional premium of over £300 for the first five years after first year of tax - so a car registered and taxed in April 2017 would not be paying £170 until April 2023.

I just bought the exact same 640D last week, with Ivory leather seats.
The Ultimate Driving Machine!
I wonder if it has a pronounced diesel engine sound? Or is it quiet/sounds rather good? Thank you :)
@@Schaufelor Definitely loud when your floor it, do love the grunt coming from the in-line 6 engine.

I've got the gran coup version fooking love it pure class

just find a black leather, glass roof,2 door spec and then you'll later wrap the car black or something.
What size wheels are they

You remapped the stock turbo, injectors, intercooler and clutch and nothing broke?
I love the 6 Series.
Great video. I have one of these. Love it. Best car I’ve owned. Cheap running costs. Super car performance. Best bang for you buck.
It's not super car, but it is still very good

Fantastic reviewer, looking forward to getting the lci version sometime next year
this car in and out looks a like a $$$ car. And now you get a good for around £12k. Road tax is less than 200, giving 40ish mpg. Cracking proposition.
So so true. It couldn’t have been summarised better 👌
I’ve got 2016 one and I want to get another one. I love it.
Extremely good looking motor sir.. 😁 Just acquired one too..The 2 door convertible is the F12 and the coupe is the F13 chassis, I believe.👍
Good review but what goes wrong with the 640D ?
Not much to be honest, maybe EGR issues which was sorted by BMW
Thoughts on the rear passenger space? Primarily with headroom having that sloped rear?
Great for under 13 year olds
Love the pan roof. Wonder if you can get it in the 640d Gran Coupé 🤔 2 extra doors definitely worth it.
I’m not sure if the gran coupe comes with pan roof but a very nice extra
I'm saving up for one of these
More comfortable fhan 2014 e class?
It’s more engaging and definitely better built than the e class. Test drive one and you will see
Just picked up a 640i 2012. I’m keeping my 630 though!
The 3 door coupé goes by the codename F13
When you see that huge bonnet panel gap across the front, look really closely.
Thanks for your honest review.
Thank you for the kind comment. Hope you enjoyed it
What about the rod bearing issue?
I wasn’t aware of the rod bearing issue, feel free to share more. Thanks in advance

640d or A35 limose under 30€
