Nice to see after all this time your are still putting out content in relating to cars that the average Joe can potentially purchase which is keeping you more relatable to the audience the biggest mistake that most TH-camrs make they come unrelatable As popularity spirals because they start making content with Ferraris and lambos which is unrelatable to your main core viewer base were you always remain grounded in And give a varied selection of cars that the average Joe can buy. The warning was likely low fuel. When the fuel gets really low, it can cause the fuel sender unit to not register any resistance and it throws an error code. Refilling got rid of it.

Buy the best condition one you can afford don't buy a modified one and check the history closely to see if it's had the common issues sorted and definitely a gearbox service of the mileage is anything over about 60k. Great video Mat, and very nice car. Just looked on the HPA website and noticed that all 4 tyres are essentially mixed. The rears appear to be different variants of Michelins, ie. Michelin pilot sport 3 and Michelin primacy 3, and the fronts are different Goodyears - the sizes look a bit off as well! As I’m sure you found out, you can’t just swap tyres from front to back and vice versa due to size differences. Also, I think your mechanic is being a bit cheeky with those invoices! I really respect that you put premium tyres on, but they need to be exact same variant and size on same axle - especially as your mechanic spent nearly £300! Going forward you should get the tyre delivered from camskills or similar, direct to wheel refurb place - works out much cheaper. Also, non run flats are the way to go for comfort, and getting repaired if needed!

Had my facelift 640d GC for 2.5 years. Was the only car I’ve kept for more than a year (kept it 2.5 yrs and sold in covid as the money was too good to turn down). Absolutely loved it, only car that I still miss many years on.
Sucked that the alloys were dreadful quality and buckled very easily.

Hi Matt, not sure if do read our comments but we still do own our BMW F10 528i and the 'Drive train' issue was detected by our mechanic by pumping generated smoke thru the intake charge piping and the engine breathing pipe and found the leak in the charge pipe near the bend and from above could hardly be seen and the other was a cheap 'O' ring seal to the engine breathing pipe. The charge pipe made of plastic was abit pricey but the other was thrown in foc.. BMW uses plastic piping to most areas in the heat of the engine !!! but my subaru they made sure this was made of metal !!!

Chances are that low battery voltage caused the warning light, BMWs hate a slightly discharged battery, my advice to the new owner is to ditch the runflats ASAP. That was the best money I ever spent on my E85 getting rid of those runflats tyres, it will make it a completely different car.

I had a 635d M Sport and a Yeti last year, and after semi retiring, I had to get rid of one. I choose to keep the Yeti because it was cheaper to run and more practical, but had the Beemer been a hatchback, I'd have been tempted to keep that. I've since traded in the Yeti for a 330d Touring X Drive, so impressed by the 6 cylinder engine, and the fact that 4-wheel drive should at least give me a chance in the slippery winter months. I think I've got my grail car now.
If anyone is sitting on the fence about buying a 6 series diesel I'd say do it, you won't regret it.

@@sinivalas754 That goes without saying, though I'd argue that a powerful rear wheel drive will still struggle even on winter tyres. I used to drive taxis and would always put Vredestein Snowtrac winter tyres on for the winter months, but I've found Michelin CrossClimate 2's to perform superbly in all conditions including snow and ice, so I tend to use these year round now.

The drivetrain fault will come back.
It won’t throw a fault until it throws a fault.
The veins on the turbo open on high revs. They don’t shut properly and overboost happens on lower revs.
    Limp mode.
    Car off and on again.
    Rinse repeat.
The egr and veins need soaked in mr muscle and the VNT actuator worked repeatedly by hand until it feels loose.

I had the Gran Coupe version, which was the better option. Slightly longer wheelbase gave it a better ride and handling, better spec, would seat 4 in total comfort, huge boot.
