Totally agree. I'm 53, have had a few big engine bmw beasts in my time (745i,X5 3.0d, M5 V10 2007) but now I'm an old git, I find my 640d coupe amazing in every way.
I own a 640D M Sport 63 Plate, Coupé in Carbon black, with cream leathers, did a roadtrip to Europe 2 weeks ago. Effortless car soo comfy and a proper GT cruiser with crazy power.
I have a 640d m sport on a 17 plate, with HUD, HK, Adaptive lights and its on 20 inch alloys. It is a beautiful car I just can't think of a better looking car maybe audi a7 black edition from same era ? But the bmw beats it hands down in terms of engine , gearbox and drive looks are subjective. Excellent review 😊
I'm looking at these and the A7, not much int it except the hatch boot on the Audi is handy and the rear middle seat is more useable. I'm just wondering about the engine and gearbox reliability compared to the Audi.
Yep i own a 2018 sonic blue with the latest wheels on it, biught with low mileage 16k last year...i held off and held off to save and find the spec and colour i wanted. Then my current car broke so had to bite the bullet and get one. The sonic blue has grown on me and i have cream interior (which isnt something id choose) but love the car. Hopefully doesn't give me any problems as mine was 77k new.
Good review in part but you didn't cover problems or issues that may come with these cars and what to look for second hand. All cars have their foibles so it would have been hugely helpful if you covered this especially as I'm interested in buying one and you sell these on your forecourt.
Can you add front cameras? I really would like that to help with front parking. If anyone has any ideas on adding aftermarket cameras please give links
I have short listed three cars that I am interested in buying. 2015 Maserati Ghibli, 2013 BMW 640d and a 2014 Jaguar XJ all roughly the same price. As someone who has done videos on all three which would you say in your opinion is the best of the three or the one that you would enjoy owning more. Thanks.
I've been looking into one of these I've been told many people that the timing chain is a problem crank shaft and the turbos can you update me on these problems
I have a 2011 640d M-Sport and the road tax isn’t £360 a year, it’s £210. Still higher than the 2018 model but not that bad considering the performance. I have to say, I enjoy driving my 640 more than any other car I’ve owned.
Both very capable cars and both comfortable. I would say the 640d takes the crown with the media and information system though, a better system to use 👍
I have the 2018 640d and it has alway confused me. I bought mine at 18 months old and it had dropped drastically in price from new. Silly depreciation. Which is great for me as I have a great car for 3 series money.
lol who uses Auto Trader 🤣 Car Guru there are tons of better examples....same costs but much lower mileage....just have to do your research I guess when its time to purchase - Trust me, kno one is buying that for the price your selling, unless they are uneducated. @@condorprestigevehicles
The last of the line/later cars do demand more. I bought mine from bmw themselves as an approved used car, albeit a 2015 but quite a bit less milage (82k) and paid £15k. Similar spec apart from the full digital dash, mine is semi digital which I actually prefer. Has HUD, pano roof, 20”, heated wheel etc. Private would have been cheaper still.

I'm also 53 and think my f12 640d is all the car I ever really needed
Coupe or grand coupe?@@litehammer69
Sorry, does anyone of you sell your Bmw 640d?

Dude I appreciate you. You are the only person on youtube who mentions the price of the product on the channel. Appreciate you man😊
Thanks very much 😎 glad you’re enjoying the content!

The 20s make it look so much better.
Love your vehicle reviews.
Thank you very much 😎

I’m seriously considering one of those 6 series BMW’s. Can’t really go wrong with the one you’re driving. 👍

I have a 58 plate 635d m57 which I love this is defo on my list for my next car or ...... 840d if I pay off my mortgage 😊
Same here

How would you compare this to a w212 Merc e class 2014 in terms of comfort?

Good review but what goes wrong with the 640D ?
Very reliable engine and gearbox. What can go wrong is the timing chain. Expensive repair because the engine must be pulled out.
Stunning machine these .. I had the 3 door and absolutely loved it .. biggest regret was selling it
If I didn’t have my two border collies, it would absolutely be a strong contender for my everyday car!
im very close to getting rid of mine. but for the money i cant see anything close.

OMG I switched off when you kept on driving with both hands off the wheel!
Great all round car, love ours
Nice review
I own a 2012 640d tax is £180 year!!
So is our 2017 kia rio 1.0 3cylinder😢
Ulez compliant... until they change the rules..
Nice, but definitely much better ones out there for that high mileage and for the price your selling it for!
It is literally the cheapest 2017/2018 (better iDrive etc) M-Sport Gran Coupe on Auto Trader nationwide… by quite a bit 😅

Enjoy bro, I'd never spend that much on a 100k miles car 2018 that's been rinsed. You got a great deal there mate.
BROTHER REALLY I DON'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE TAX
