Kept mine for 3 years/75K miles, which is a record for me. Traded it for a Merc E300 coupe, which I hated. The Merc salesman did a private deal to buy my 640, as he loved it so much. I've had 29 cars in my life, and I think this was the best ever. Fantastic buy.
What's it like to live with, is it too big for street parking? This thing is long I wonder if people would struggle find parking spaces on the streets.
@theStressD about that dont worry actually its weird but its more easy then a short car to park i had the same opinion like you i used to have a golf 5 and we did some scratches with it almos always but with long car somehow its a space that completes you its like for your height
I have one and after nearly 30 years of almost exclusively BMW owning/driving I have to say that this is the best looking, most satisfying and most capable BMW I have ever owned. Sure it is just an F10 in drag but with all the toys it has as standard plus some nice options this is so much more. Get one, you will not be disappointed.
Unbelievable that this is a 10 year old design. Such a stunner. I'd take it over the new 8 series GC any day. Thanks to the god send that is depreciation, I think this car has to be the most expensive looking £12-15k car you can buy!!
@@simondelorean Drove it owned it, didn't blow me away. Thankfully Mercedes-Benz are back to making Stright six diesel engines. Loved the old ones in the W124.
You’ve got to be joking… the BMW N57 diesel in this model car is so unreliable, they have so many issues with timing chain, EGR, injectors, coolant pipes, glow plug modules and more. Might not be as fun to drive, but the Benz V6 OM642, they only really have issues with sticking glow plugs and the odd PCV issue with the Y pipe intake.
I had an M6 GC in 2016..owned it for 2 years..blistering fast..575bhp..sold it when I nearly(nearly) lost my licence..still regret it..looked awesome...rocket ship.
I agree with most of what you said, especially about the driving experience, I had my 640 for about 3 years and hands down the best car I had, pretty cheap to run considering, mine never missed a beat, service every year and all went great.
@@Alexander_l322 neither the RR or the 750 returned 35 around town. I use my cars mostly for longer runs when MPG v cost of fuel pretty much balance out. Maintenance costs are remarkably similar. Fun value? Completely different!
Had mine just over 12 months. Beautiful car. It attracts looks and comments everywhere I go. The engine is relentless like you say. Bullet proof. My only beef, parking the beast, those wheels are kerb magnets too. Its bloody massive. I love it though, best car I've ever had.😁

Great review. Bought a high spec 2015 facelift 640d GC ex demonstrator from a main dealer in Sept 2016. Matt picked up all the good points including the benefit of the panoramic sunroof - it makes a big difference. An absolute dream to own and drive. Another standout feature in the Head Up Display that should be fitted to every car! Nice job Matt!!
640i GC owner here (one of 22 according to How Many Left). Fantastic car. I’ve owned 911s in the past but with kids, this is the only way to travel (apart from the L322). You have to work it harder than the 640d but it sounds so much better and doesn’t smell. I see 30 mpg average so the diesel wins on that of course but I don’t do huge mileage. The 8 is undoubtedly good but just doesn’t look the part somehow. Keep up the good work.
@@disclosed2229 mate, you are so right! I ended up buying a Tesla S P85, it has cost me a fortune in repairs. It’s for sale now and next car will a 640d or a 530e
I came out of a 996 C4 when my children were too big to get in the back of it and I knew I’d be doing loads of motorway miles. Loved almost everything about it… but on rutted and pot-holed B roads the ride is really very very harsh. But it’s a GT and it does that effortlessly and, when sensible, returned 45mpg too. Swapped it since for a Macan Turbo on 22” wheels and the ride is sublime so it’s the run-flat, reinforced tyres that can irritate.
@@teaw5706 Best model to go for in a BMW lol. Watch the electrics though as they usually decide to play up at the worst possible time on older models lol
When this came out it was stunning and even now it's still gorgeous - personally find it a million times better looking then its hideous predecessor. Also have to agree with you Matt on the fact that this 6 series and the A7 & CLS at the time are 3 amazing looking cars, all 3 which I'd happily buy now
I drove the 219 CLS350 cdi sport for 100k and it was an awesome car and imho the best looking of all three CLS models, never renewed for the new shape as I don’t like it. I now have a late 640d Gran Coupe highest spec I could find ,its an awesome car tbf.
the only hideous thing is your way of thinking . If you know a thing or two about car designs you'll find the e63 a beautiful care way ahead of its time
@@andreisames3021 I might not be a car designer but I know what I like and don't like, you see we all have opinions and opinions are subjective, no right or wrong. E6X gen BMW 6 series were ugly, especially compared to the F generation 6 series. Although E63 Merc on the other hand 😍
Excellent video Matt, I had a test drive of a 2015 640d last November and couldn't believe how good it was. I drive Clients cars for a living(f/t chauffeur) and have driven hundreds of different vehicles over the past 24 years, so a car has to be really special for me to be impressed! Just missed out on a well spec'd car two weeks ago.
I had the 640 D Xrive in M spec for 2 1/2 years and got to say it’s by far the best car I’ve ever had hands down! Engine is just a perfect mix of speed and silence when needed. Tested Mercedes CLS and Audi A7 before and this was way better almost in all aspects. Good video!
sold my Msport 640D and got myself a Porsche Panamera ehybrid Sport Turismo, mine was a 2014 6 series and what a wonderful car, drove it belgium, even drove it snow!!
Just bought a 2015 640d gran coupe in black with 129,000 miles and I absolutely love it the drive and looks are timeless and bring a smile to my smile every time I’m in the car for £9k it’s a lot of car!!!
Love this video. Had my 640d coupe since 2020 and never had a thought to get rid, it is just so good. For me who used to change cars for fun I never thought I’d have a car I love this much.
Hi ,Matt the best car I've ever had was the BMW 630d GT M/sport, a hatchback with a huge boot ,superb ZF box, auto hold, it just did everything so well, sunroof as standard, its now gone back and I shed a tear, but last year it took us round Scotland, Norfolk,Wales, and the Cotswolds, when we arrived in Inverness I looked down at the trip and had averaged 54 mpg from Yorkshire. Love your reviews and humour
Almost identical to a 4 series GC, but the 4 series has a proper handbrake and a more practical boot. Admittedly the 6 looks better, but it’s a close call.
Jealous at this point, hope to drive this car one day, I've always said that the interior for me was the best and still think it holds well. Great review as always.
This is a fair and honest test drive presentation about BMW 640d. Mine is 640i with that favorable N55 3 litre twin-scroll single turbo six in-line petrol engine under the bonnet. You are so right by saying that the 640 Gran Coupe is all you need as a daily, cross-country touring car because it was really designed as a GT car, sleek A pillar, frame less doors and soft-closing windows. The styling doesn't look aged even today. Not at all. And it's got enough power from thew classic BMW straight six engine that quietly produce 480 NM at 1500 rpm. Enough space both in the cabin and the boot. That driver focus "waterfall" trimming dash is a nice touch. It's a big car in terms of length and width. But you would feel it quite nimble and agile driving in town. A well serviced one with not so high mileage on the dial would be a bargain for such a good looking car that not many other brand can come close with that much of an offer.
This car is the Best pre owned value for money car out there - the end . I had one , a m sport high spec 640d , absolutely adhered it with one exception…… the run flat tyres . They are shocking , provide sod all grip and they are £500 per corner for the rears . Otherwise I think it’s the best bmw they’ve ever made . Great to see you finally reviewed this one Matt - the 640d m sport is quicker than the equivalent diesel Panamera , better looking than the merc equivalent - just a total all round proper car
Agree about the run flats. Mine felt bloody dangerous so changed for Michelin PS4s and my god it totally transformed it to something I could Chuck round country lanes - we’ll nearly ;-)
@@sordish I like the idea of the run flat tyre but while inventing it they seem to have forgotten a tyres fundamentals- grip and compliance - of which run flats seem to have none . I might add I did make the situation worse after the car had its stage 1 map
Great car, I have 2015 coupe fine for the kids in back occasionally, great all rounder. Only gripe I have is the comfort of the seats in front, this is the second 640d I've owned - so good I bought a second better speced!) but my partner and I both suffered terrible back ache, you would think so adjustable this isn't possible but there's no lumbar support. I briefly owned a Mercedes e350 and the seats very infinitely better just cupped you perfectly no adjusting required. Still didn't put me off buying another 640d just need lumbar cushions. A sunroof is a must if you can find one makes a real difference! Lovely car.
Excellent video Matt, thank you. I love your turn of phrase, and the subtle and oh so classic British sarcasm! :) Have watched quite a few of your videos, the Bentley Continental review is excellent so I was elated to find this. You're 100% spot on about this magnificent 640D. I've owned one for almost 4 years and its truly one of the best cars I've ever had. Really impressed that you mentioned the EGR issue as that is the only issue I've ever had with this magnificent beast. BMW sorted it (EGR cooler) under recall but a year later they stung me with an EGR valve replacement. Not too expensive but once replaced it was soo much quicker and more agile. My previous ride was a 730D which is much the same N57 engine but single turbo, and it had that dreaded accelerator drag, which I put down to it being diesel. The 640D behaves like a petrol engine (and sounds like one!) hit that gas pedal and it surges like a rocket ship - no lag and it handles like a demon - alas, with the right tyres. Dumped the RF rubbish and went non-RF, yuuuge (to paraphrase Trump) difference!
I've had my 2014 F06 640d for 5 years and done 75k in it, best car I have owned. With 115k on the clock it's near bullet proof, drives just the same as the day I bought it, and has never let me down. Ticks every box apart from ULEZ. Struggling to find anything I want to replace it with to get into London.
The only white car I’ve ever owner and loved it especially with the glass roof. Brilliant piece of kit, as ever too many are now being chaved out thus diluting an otherwise classy motor 👌
Oh the one i had a few nice extras like the Variable Damper Control, so had the Comfort+ setting and it did make a difference, surround cameras, and to be fair was amazing, i got nearer 30mpg around town and 35+ on motorways, but i think i had a heavy right foot!! Great daily, had it for 4 years on Lease finance, and had £8K in residuals, which i used towards the Porsche! Amazing car for sure!
nice review & feeling happy, i am getting a 640d 2016 convertible with 28k miles tomorrow, paid £18k from BMW approved used, so it has a years warranty, swapped a 220i convertible for it with some cash on top.
I had the 640D from 2016-19 I was traveling from Warwick to Milan five times a year with samples, it would do 150mph on unrestricted German roads but on 600 mile road trips it would average 58 MPG I would arrive still fresh and comfortable.
Had my 640d six month now and it's fantastic. Had two 5 series before hand E60 and F10 both very good but nothing on the 6 series. Only issues are parking as it feels very wide and that massive bonnet is hard to judge where you are in a parking bay. The second issue is the 20 inch wheels are kerb magnets, no matter what you do you will kerb them, pot holes are a nightmare as well, crappy British roads. Once you come to grips with all that the car is just an absolute joy. The pace is more than you will ever need. The car feels so different in eco and comfort and just mad in sport. The paddles are great for a quick overtake in any mode. Just buy one be the best car you will ever have. Incredible value second hand. Ps buy a 15 or 16 plate with low mileage as the tax is only £210. Not worth buying the 17 plate that was registered offer April as the tax is through the roof. 👍
What's the MPG like on the 640d when cruising around at the limit. In town and motorways? Is it really 40-50mpg? I find that so hard to believe?! My current 2.0 tdi A4 11plate does about 40mpg entire tank, 80% motorway driving. Really want one of these but don't want to be filling up more often, plus fuel prices sky rocketing.
@@rafh2753 there's two answers to this question. 1) the car has so much power that's the real issue. Let me explain. If you drive is around town or short journeys you can get 37 to 42 if you only use about 80/100 hp the power of a fiesta. On a motorway or long journeys if you do the same thing you will easily get 50 to 55mpg if not more. 2) That all goes out the window if you put your foot down and its hard not too as it puts a smile on your face. Now I have had it for a bit my experience is as followed. When I get in the car I switch it to eco mode before I pull away. The car has very little throttle response, so there for it feels like a 80 hp car hence you don't need to use the fuel having fun. If you need to, put it into sport and the thing takes of like a scolded cat and you will drop to 35 mpg that's the lowest I have had it. You can have it running at 50 mpg if you want on long journeys but in real time it will be closer to 35 / 42mpg. Space wise for a family of 4 it's absolutely fantastic lots of space and the back seats fold down. It's very low to get in and out of as my parents tell me. In reality if you let it warm up and 90% of the time drive it as a cruiser the fuel economy is excellent for a 315 bhp car. Hope this helps 👍
Having had a 645ci for 5 years I was about to buy a 2017 640i grande coupe from a BMW dealer until I saw a familiar RR Vouge SE for sale. The right choice was made with the RR, much to the disgust at BMW, it was a beautiful car with max spec and was perfect on the test drive. No regrets though.
I'd recently been thinking "why's Matt not done a 640d review yet"🙃 I bought the 640d coupe in October as I've always been drawn to the nicer lines in my opinion. Great car and I always look back at it.
Thank you for this, been waiting for you to a review of the 6 series Gran Coupe, always like the look of this car best looking BMW in my opinion. Well no more just thinking about it, think will take the plunge and get one.
A mate bought a three year old facelift one on my advice last year. Great drive, very practical, surprisingly economical for a car that can keep up with Ferraris, superb looks, luxury spec'. The eight speed automatic gearbox means you won't even notice that it's a diesel. Watch out that the pre facelift ones are not ULEZ. Otherwise hard to go wrong.
I’ve had a 4 640i conv over 12 years… feels wonderful and I look forward to any excuse to get into it and drive it somewhere . Only people without a pulse don’t like this car.
I didn't realise how much these had depreciated until perusing Autotrader about a month ago and have been on the look out for one since. Coincidentally I was looking at this exact car two minutes before seeing this video. There don't seem to be many silver 640d GCs about. Great car for the money.
The biggest negative is the crappy standard sports seats you get - look at the distance between back of head and shoulder and the seat. My old e46 sport seats are more comfortable - so i upgraded the f06 seats to comfort seats - WAY BETTER.
So true about BMW making you feel at home. I’m driving my first one after decades driving other makes and the driving position and feel of the Beemer is superb 👍
You sir, have a way with words which commands respect, you're an artist in the noble sense of the word. I don't need that grand coupe, I have a 2005 XJR and a 1971 riviera. But I keep coming back and listening to your takes. Much obliged. (French guy in WA state) Thanks for the inspiration and keep on trucking!

Mine is a 2013 with 150k miles runs like clockwork. Best thing you can do is ditch the run flats improves ride and handling no end. Oh and if using year round a set of winter wheels n tyres is essential.
@@hondamanvtec2894 No, more like you don't have good reading comprehension. I didn't say whether people liked or hated this design. I just said what a great looking car this is, which is just my own view, not what other people (supposedly) thought when this car came out.
I had mine for four years from new. Managed to spec it up to £70 k, pretty much all the options including adaptive suspension & rear wheel steer. A fantastic car and as you say felt like it was bespokely made for me. The car's only Achilles heal were the run flat tyres that not only gave it an unnecessarily harsh ride but also resulted in having to replace 7 tyres and 3 wheels over my ownership following altercations with pot holes. I didn't take up the balloon payment of £22 k at the end of the PCP lease so it went off to the auctions. It was still pristine and with only 35 k miles somebody must have got a bargain.
I was split between the audi a7 bitdi black edition or the bmw 640d GC. The audi on those 21 inch alloys looks stunning and the interior is beautiful. However the bmw drove better and is also a beautiful looking car which is subjective. This review of the bmw 640d GC made up my mind and I managed to buy one on a 17 plate with most of the toys and I love the car. Thanks 😊
Congratulations on your 6 srs Grand Coupe. I had a similar predicament between the A7 and a Panamera both diesel and what did I pick in the end which was fantastic.. a Maserati Ghibli diesel which looks great performs amazing doesn’t sound like diesel and has the coolest paddle shifts on any 4 door saloon
I miss my 640, amazing car. Had it for 3 years without any issues….and it looked great. Only annoying thing is the position of the sat nav controller as it keeps getting knocked when you have someone in the passenger seat.
Spoke to you a couple of months ago saying I wanted one of these. the week after 9 months after I began looking, I found one and I'm here sat in mine now watching your video 😂 highly recommend these to people it's a great luxury coupe with plenty of power new they started off at 67k most midspec m sports average at around 75k new.

Great video, I have a 2015 facelift coupe. Best car I’ve owned, brilliant daily with all the class and power you need . Tax in Ireland is €400 per year and I’m sure it’s 313bhp.
Looks great and i love the interior design and exterior design especially in that silver with those alloys. i think the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is really underrated like the Vw Passat CC Facelift even tho this is much more luxurious. Keep up the great work Matt! 😀❤
I've not long bought an E60 550i. Figured it was perhaps my last chance to own a big, V8 engined performance saloon before Greta and her cronies get their way. Could have stretched to an M5, but the maintenance would have killed me. Very, very impressed so far. Yes, I know there are a couple of expensive jobs in the post (stem seals, coolant transfer pipe etc), as bigger family car (which is what I was instructed to buy 😂😂😂), it's brilliant.
We've had our 650ix LCI convertible for 4 years now and it has been perfectly reliable. It's now done approximately 46000km (28000 miles) and has only seen the dealer for the service. In my opinion the V8 is the only appropriate engine (at least for the convertible).
BMW could have updated the headlights and got a few more years out of it easily. It's still a good looking car. And thanks for the vid - you have a knack of sending me to Autotrader if I haven't already been there.
Hey Matt great video as usual. Now I’ve a slight issue to pick with you here. I have a 2016 LCI 650 coupe which I adore and have had for 3 years with not an issue at all. It’s truely a gorgeous looking car from every angle and thats not something you can say about most cars…. Certainly not the 8 series that replaced mine. You mentioned the V8s are unreliable and while sure the early N63 motors did have issues with leaking valve steam seals , BMW did rectify this with the N63tU from 2013 onwards. It’s not a perfect engine for sure it is finicky with it’s hot V8 etc etc sure but I can honestly say I’ve never had any issues as I service the car religiously every year and only use 98 premium fuel. In Australia diesels aren’t popular for luxury sports cars so the 640d is rarer than the petrols. Nothing sounds as good as a V8 and you know this Matt. The smile on your face when you plant your foot in your V8 Mercs and Rangies is very telling ☺️😉. Keep up the great work love your channel
Completely agree. Bought my 650 new 6 years ago and have had zero problems. Correction, just one problem. I like to change cars about every 5 years but it’s such a great car in just about every respect I can’t find anything comparable unless I pay an outrageous price.
Yeah they are great cars the F series. I don’t plan on selling my 650 anytime soon either Pete. There is nothing currently on the market that I like enough to part with my big Beemer, it gives me so much pleasure as a weekender only. It’s a modern classic to me.
Great video, I had bought a 640d Coupe a few years ago and regretted it over my F11 520d, sure the engine was amazing and the looks were stunning, but I felt that extra premium wasn't warranted at all, maybe I should have got a GC instead or a 535d!
@@Adam-xe5xm Oh definitely, but it was dissapointing for the price. 2012 F11 I sold and got a 2012 640d which was "worth" over 10k more, but it was not 10k of extra car, noiser and less features than my F11, had the comfy upgraded seat and HUD though which was cool, really it was just the engine that was amazing, the F11 felt better to drive too, should have had a longer test drive! It's not a car I miss, unlike the 520d.
@@Liquido562 I've driven both (owned a pre lci 640) and tbh I think the 3 litre is a better engine in a car that big. The 520 isn't slow but to me it feels underpowered. Your right on the seats though. Those sports seats are awful.
Even the 530d is a great step up from the 520d. It's not so much about the maximum performance, but how elastic the 3.0D powertrain is and how nice it sounds. I often dream about a 535d/550d, but in reality I hardly ever use all of the available performance as is...
Used to have a 640d m sport but not the Gran coupe which is the one I would buy now. I’ve missed it so much and having watched your video I really want another one! Classy looking car, very quick as you rightly said and luxurious. Great review, thank you
I always loved this. It was released when I was driving my very underrated 530d GT. This 6 Gran Coupe was going to be my next car. But it was cancelled and I bought a new one 630d GT xDrive. Man, what an underrated, understated brilliant kit my 630d GT is. I would love to see you drive one - provided you don't do the brainless "looks" BS like so many do. Or like that stupid woman from some other car channel that said the 6 GT looked more like a Grand Tourer than a GT. I kid you not. She said that!! Auto car or something. Nice review at any rate
Having owned a 3 GT for 2 years, I sold it for a SUV and now miss it and can't find a better deal or something as much versatile, good looking, spacious and kind of luxurious car. If money was no issue, I would definitely go for a fully loaded 640 GT Xdrive. Until then, considering a 2nd hand 6 gran coupé.
Love these, this the A7 and CLS all look stunning... the interior of the CLS is dated and let's it down now which is a shame, the 640 inside and out is timeless
You missed the M6 Grand Coupe in the range. Crazy power but still one of the best looking M cars, more so now with 'marmite' BMW design. An essential option on the 6 series is surround view due to its size.
Excellent content as usual and well timed, just as I have recently been considering replacing my 5 with one of these! One thing I normally do to gauge risk of issues, is get a quote for BMW insured warranty, a price normally tells you how risky BMW think the vehicle is. A 2015 640i with 36k on the clock comes in at £1200 with £100 excess for the comprehensive warranty, the 640d costs the same. Not bad and less than what I am paying for my 5 which is slightly older.
I had a 11 plate diesel a7 single turbo and it felt nimble and nice to drive no matter the weather.i didn't like the dsg on Audi s .as said gearbox need maintaining or your looking at a big bill.had to let it go because of ulez and bought a 640d lci version on a 16 plate and I think it's a good cruiser ,getting about 41 miles on the motorway and mid 30's in London and I'm not heavy footed. Payed about 25000 for mine with mid 40's lots of extras
I've never liked the 6 series much until they made the gran coupe now I absolutely love it. Problem there will always be a situation I will need that fifth seat so I would end up buying a 5 series instead. Can't really go wrong with a 5 series anyway sure you will agree
Well I love mine. Never have I heard a diesel sound so good. It proper roars. Downside are the runflat tyres. Car feels like it’s going to split in two when you hit one! Only issue I’ve had is my rear parking sensor. The bmw badge pops up when you go into reverse. I’ve not had it fixed yet so not sure if the cost. I have the soft close doors which are also lovely and the Harmon Kardon sound system which is really good. I would certainly recommend. Tyres are very expensive . Just under a grand for 4. But pilot sport 4s and transform the car !!!
Was between a 640D coupe or S5 ended up with the S5. Apart from the fuel bills I didn’t regret it until I watched this review. Now I’m interested in getting the 640D again 🤦🏻♂️
Bought one before covid, financial burdens made me sell it. 640d grand coupe, done a stage 1 map, got nearly 400 bhp out of it. Crazy power. Sadly replaced it with a 118d. Miss it everyday.
I know that pain, a little different I had the previous shape 650i 300+ bhp and went down a VW Passat CC 140bhp. Sad times mate. Now looking at these to replace the Passat.

The BMW 3.0 straight six diesel is probably one of the best diesel engines in any car.
Better than Mercedes-Benz crappy V6s 100%

Drove it owned it, didn't blow me away. Thankfully Mercedes-Benz are back to making Stright six diesel engines. Loved the old ones in the W124.
3.0 tdi is up there too
You’ve got to be joking… the BMW N57 diesel in this model car is so unreliable, they have so many issues with timing chain, EGR, injectors, coolant pipes, glow plug modules and more.
It’s surprising that it will do 35 mpg odd around town and 50 mpg on a run!
@@Alexander_l322 diesels are wayyy cheaper and more efficient to run.

I believe you man. Just take care of the car and everything will be fine. :) Month ago I bought the 4 Series. :) Can check my content.
@@Alexander_l322 neither the RR or the 750 returned 35 around town. I use my cars mostly for longer runs when MPG v cost of fuel pretty much balance out. Maintenance costs are remarkably similar. Fun value? Completely different!

The engine is relentless like you say. Bullet proof.
My only beef, parking the beast, those wheels are kerb magnets too. Its bloody massive.

Considering getting a 2015 gran coupe 640i m sport with possibly every feature. What’s service costs like if you don’t mind me asking?
The six series oozez luxury and comfort! Such a good looking motor!!

Excellent video Matt, I had a test drive of a 2015 640d last November and couldn't believe how good it was. I drive Clients cars for a living(f/t chauffeur) and have driven hundreds of different vehicles over the past 24 years, so a car has to be really special for me to be impressed! Just missed out on a well spec'd car two weeks ago.
same here - used to be a plater - drove everything - so when I got in this, I knew straightaway that it was THE ONE
Good video!
Wish they done x drive for 640 in uk
This is my favorite gran coupe. I love the CLS as well, but the 6 series is German quality at its finest. Great video Matt !!
I have a 2018 GC and it is the best car I've ever owned. Better than a 7 series with style. Just Love it....
Didn't they stop building these beauties in 2017? Have never found one from 2018 in France!

Just got one today, looking forward to driving it.
@@j.k.5370 Even used it for a family wedding, but the bride got in the front with huge rear leg room ?. Hope you will enjoy it.
Been wanting one of these for ages! Home renovation taking the pennies at the moment but it’s still top of my “want” list.
Thanks for watching
Dude I have been waiting 3years for you do do a GC review. Mine is a 2014 640d gc msport in carbon black and I love it. Great review 👍👍👍
Been sat binge watching your reviews, honestly so refreshing to hear someone not put on a voice and just be themselves reviewing cars.
Thanks!
I went for the Cls and love it. Only thing that put me off with the 640d was all the ones I went to view the seats was all worn out.
I currently have a 2008 635d coupe and I absolutely love it! If I were to upgrade this would be the car without a doubt.
That E63 has aged well 👍.
This is a very stylish and refined BMW. If you are into big 4-door coupe cars, this is the one for you. Great video.

As with all BMWs and runflats! When I get these on warranty expired cars, it’s the first thing I change. Non RFLs all round.
Just bought one of these. I'm very impressed with it.
I got one 3 weeks ago and it’s a head turner!
I think the term "Timeless" was coined for this car. It looks every bit as fresh as ever and the interior has aged beautifully too. Bloody gorgeous.
BMW could have updated the headlights and got a few more years out of it easily. It's still a good looking car.
And thanks for the vid - you have a knack of sending me to Autotrader if I haven't already been there.
Your Audi A7 video back in the day made me decide to change my A5 to A7. At the end I bought the new shape 2018 year. Great car
Well done
Great video, I had bought a 640d Coupe a few years ago and regretted it over my F11 520d, sure the engine was amazing and the looks were stunning, but I felt that extra premium wasn't warranted at all, maybe I should have got a GC instead or a 535d!
use car bargins, wouldnt want to buy one new though.
@@Liquido562 I'm astounded that you compare a 520d repmobile with a 640d. Sheesh, this isn't just apples & oranges dude, its fish & motorcycle stuff!

Great design, great looks, great engine, great gearbox. Great review Matt (you never disappoint) always entertaining 👌👏
You missed the M6 Grand Coupe in the range. Crazy power but still one of the best looking M cars, more so now with 'marmite' BMW design. An essential option on the 6 series is surround view due to its size.
The new B58 straight 6 petrol engine is excellent. It revs extremely fast, has loads of torque (even at low rpms) and plenty of power too.
owned one of the coupes and i think its such an amazing car for money and power u get
I thought these were the most ridiculous cars when they first came out but in true BMW fashion the design grows on you and now love them!
Was close to buying one of these. Good looking cars for the money. Went for a Jaguar XJ diesel instead. Don’t regret it
These N57 twin turbos are notorious for big end bearing and timing chain problems
Good tip that.
I also have just got one in white. I agree with everything you said it is a lovely car.
I've been waiting for this kind of you for so long.
One of my favorite modern designs ever.
I've never liked the 6 series much until they made the gran coupe now I absolutely love it. Problem there will always be a situation I will need that fifth seat so I would end up buying a 5 series instead. Can't really go wrong with a 5 series anyway sure you will agree
It’s got five seats and seatbelts. Wouldn’t like to be in that centre rear one too long though!
Why don't you get rid of the run flats and get a spare wheel?
Was between a 640D coupe or S5 ended up with the S5. Apart from the fuel bills I didn’t regret it until I watched this review. Now I’m interested in getting the 640D again 🤦🏻♂️
Do you worry about your S5 getting stolen?
Bought one before covid, financial burdens made me sell it. 640d grand coupe, done a stage 1 map, got nearly 400 bhp out of it. Crazy power. Sadly replaced it with a 118d. Miss it everyday.
From 640 to 118:(that hurts
I know that pain, a little different I had the previous shape 650i 300+ bhp and went down a VW Passat CC 140bhp. Sad times mate. Now looking at these to replace the Passat.
