      Sleepy from lingering jetlag, and missing the roads already, but now keeping my eyes peeled for secrets as I watch. Edited to add: Not so secret? But the love hotel(s) that featured on Tokyo Creative and/or Natsuki walking past on the sidewalk in Dotonbori? Have a great week, Norm. 💜✌️🐦

      u are a very safe driver. i would drive such distances almost weekly for work and takes half of the time u travelled while travelling similar distance but the car would be a mobile discotheque.
      how do i make it in 4 hours? stay off the main roads where traffic would be heavy during peak hours.
      meanwhile i am almost twice ur age. xD
      love ur videos.

      I'd recalibrate that dream a little bit. All highways are toll roads and gasoline is decently more expensive there. Speed limits are low compared to the US and the cops do not take it easy (as you heard about the unfightable yellow line ticket). If you want to drive in Japan at all, I recommend cherry picking your favorite roads and do it in a kei car. You'll have way more fun keeping a kei car on full boil than barely touching the gas in a fast car, trust me, I've done both in Japan.

    • @javidgt8
      @javidgt8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@nunyabusiness896 Yea I’ve heard. My definition of “fun car” is very wide though. Realistically I’d rent a Miata or some stock 90s JDM car with probably less than 200-300hp. And yea I’d mostly stick to the touge roads for the “fun” parts and use main roads/highways strictly for getting from city to city. But yea I’m expecting it to be an expensive road trip.🥲 Nonetheless one I cannot pass up on doing lol

    • @nunyabusiness896
      @nunyabusiness896 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@javidgt8 Consider a Suzuki Alto Works from Omoshiro. The small kei footprint will make the mountain roads so much more fun and if you fold the rear seats down you can actually bring a ton of luggage with you if you want to do a multi-day trip. Turbo keis are way more fun than Miatas IMO, they are never "fast" in terms of top speed but they accelerate off the line super quick and the engines sound amazing. They are unironically some of the fastest cornering vehicles I've ever driven from being so light.
      If you just want to experience some JDM-only cars to say you did, consider a couple of short term rentals from Omoshiro and just keep it local to their office. You definitely don't want to be trying to drive cross-country in a 90's car and then have a breakdown with zero parts immediately available.

      It's so much fun and I feel like I've seen so much more of Japan. Depending on what you're driving, it isn't terrible cost wise. I drove 1,245 miles this trip in a corolla touring hybrid, fueled the 50 litre tank from a quarter to full 3 times at 168/litre.

    • @haloboy817

      Thats kind of the trade off. I feel you could make this entire trip in 1/3rd of the cost using a Honda(and 1/5th of using the train). But you are paying the premium for the experience of doing it in a supercar. Which in reality is a once in a lifetime experience for most people. For anyone who hasnt taken a short weekend ride in a high end or even a classic car I highly suggest you do. It's unforgettable.

    Loved the video, scenarios were amazing as always. Crazy that you manage to keep it under the speed limit in a car like this, if it was me in italy (where i live rn) in a gtr 😅😅😅(luckly there are few radars and almost no police in the highways here)

    Fun drive! Thanks for telling us the gas prices too...helps with comparison shopping for in-country travel (I'm sure shinkansen is always going to be the way to go for me, tbh).
    Glad the robbery wasn't any more dire! Be careful out there! 💜

    Seeing you drive the legendary godzilla GTR in such a calm and collected manner was something i was not preparerd for. What i would give to even be able to sit in one of these.

    Oh hahaha this is going to be great seeing you slumming it because I have lived in far worse places here in the US. ❤ At least we know already that you made it out in one pieces... Or at least if there's any other pieces they're likely too mangled or burned to be of much use anymore, anyway

    I remember getting passengers laps in one of the PlayStation Grand Tourismo GTR’s around Silverstone when they were new. They were really early models imported from Japan, I actually had to hold a button to cancel the speed limiter on the straights so we could hit over 160mph.
