As old as the R35 is at this point, it’s absolutely still an incredible machine and a true testament to Japanese know how and engineering. I’ve driven am R35 and to this day it remains the most amazing car I’ve ever had the pleasure of driving 👌🏼
I don’t care what people say about the R35 being produced too long and “not keeping up” (even tho it still performs to par). It has and always will be my dream car. As incredibly tempting the 911 gt3 is now and others, they just will never replace the love I’ve always had for GTR
I definitely appreciate you guys. I've had mine in the shop a couple of times for some breakdowns. (None the fault of the car) and the Master Techs that took care of me were top notch. I've blown open an injector. Previous owner used, used injectors. You can blow air with your mouth through it. Flex fuel sensor shorted due to previous owner installing poorly. Then I blew my transmission up last summer.... 🙄. 5th gear stripped 1/3 the teeth off and the Synchro was destroyed.

Your mother could get in it and drive it fast! maybe that's the point....I've owned the R34 GTR and an R35 at the same time. I drove, and pushed them both all the time. The R34 was exciting, and fun, yet could be a calm daily driver. The R35 felt like a Maxima that was stupid fast. In other words, boring. If I were to own another, I'd get an R32. It has almost the same drive train as an R34, but it's significantly lighter and by far the most fun to drive. I guess this is kind of happening to most cars nowadays unfortunately..... One of the reasons older cars are going through the roof in value. The 35 is a great car, but "the best GTR" is debatable.
I'm a 1969-1989 Skyline fan myself. I love the R32/33/34 very much, but those first two decades are my favorite! Like the Silvia. I love the S13/14/15, but I absolutely want an 83' 240RS Silvia. The Group B Homologation car. Drive that one & listen to it on Gran Turismo, then check out real pics & video. Of that Silvia and the first two Skylines ( and the Fairlady, Sunny/210, Gloria, Laurel, Cedric, Cima, the President, & of course the 510. So many glorious vehicles from Datsun/Nissan, and every Japanese auto manufacturer from the beginning up until 2004 ( but especially from 63'-99') 🌅
I wish I could afford one. I’m most struck by the number of times the Nissan employees used the word “customer.” They really bought into the focus: “make the best car for the customer” and not “make the best car.” That’s a significant difference. Others may make fast, but uncomfortable, cars that you can barely climb into. I respect what Nissan did here.
I wouldn't. I would only buy a 2012 and newer. The DBA has updated transmission components, and believe me. It's worth the extra costs instead of replacing it later.
An absolute ethereal experience. I never broke gaze from watching. Elite craftsmanship, education, and fun wrapped in an amazing lecture. Kudos to Nissan.
Every successful car company should do this at least once per generation: take a handful of your best, most passionate people and set them to designing the very best car they possibly can, with no worry over cost. Even if they can't sell the finished product at a profit, all the parts and systems that get improved in the process will more than make up it over time.
Great Documentary Japanese Automobiles hold a special place in my heart the Japanese are fantastic master builders and engineers. and the design language is always cutting edge.
It amazes me that comparatively few people seek out made in Japan vehicles. Their quality is on another level even compared to the same company's vehicles made elsewhere. Nissan is probably the most stark example of this.
I will drive one of these beautiful cars before I die 100 percent. My mate from school has just got his back and every time he drives past me I see the smile all over his face and I can 100 percent believe why he absolutely loves every time he drives the thing just the sound of it gets me I love how they sound even standard
Everyone in the factory that even just for a moment touches a gtr seems so proud to be there and thats cool to see. ❤ I sat in the drivers seat of first 2009 m/y GTR off the line myse!f and can agree it was an honor to even be allowed near the machine. Watching this after the Carlos Ghosn debacle is hitting different too.
Ever since laying my eyes on the GTR for the first time I knew this was going to be my favourite car. Many years have passed not even Tesla can beat this!

What happened? I know Nissan is yet again on the verge of bankruptcy, but I didn't know there was/is some controversy/legal incident that caused this latest downturn.
In March 2024 I found a beautiful 2019 Nismo 370 one owner with 19,000 MI. I imported the car from Canada to Tampa Florida. The original owner took such good care of this car and upgraded to a GTR. I knew nothing about the platform whatsoever and I just needed a change from the Dodge Challenger. The literal moment that I sat in the car I smiled ear to ear. I felt like I was in my own personal rocket ship and to this very day I still feel like I get in a cockpit. I see a GTR someday in my future this car is fascinating. My 370 is a standard 6-speed, and she pulls in every gear. I've never had so much fun driving a car. I can't even imagine what the GTR must be like.
The overall styling is so cool and, well, timeless. In 20 years from now I believe it will still look awesome. If I had the bucks this car would top my list. Nothing against the competition (they reference Porsche more than once in this video) however you don't see as many GTR's on the road in comparison - not even close - and it's the exclusivity that I value with all the other good stuff this machine has to offer.
What an awesome performing 3.8 v6 , my little 2008 Altima sedan 3.5 had lots of kick to it , and a smooth ride too, here is one for you , my girlfriend borrowed my car to go to dentist appt. when she returned she told me my car dangerous , i asked why , she told she was going up the on ramp before she realized she doing over 70 MPH before getting on the 101 in Scottsdale
Pretty amazing when you consider that this cast aluminum block is now being built in 2500-3000hp levels while domestic vehicle's require an aftermarket block. The rest of the drivetrain is the same. Maybe a 300m gear here or there but, just bulletproof.
Everyone of the Top Gear lads respects this car for the force it is. I have driven one at a track day event and it's more of a throroughbred than those red ponies out of Italy. You can live day to day with this car and take it out to the track on a weekend. If you ever get a chance to drive on, do it.

Good honest review Hi from New Zealand had my 800 MT for 12 months now done about 20000km been a great bike so far, only issues I've had is a broken switch and the mirrors keep moving both replaced under warranty, I also own a triumph trophy and a GS, the CF moto is the bike I usually drag out of the shed As you say get over the Chinese thing and it's all good 👍 I'm actually considering buying the just out in NZ cfmoto 450 mt

Someone put diesel in it instead of gas. Luckily they realized that before they crunk it up. I was wondering why they were pushing it in the plant lol.
The GT-R is pretty much the king of the streets even in the US this thing dominates. The platforms that come close are the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Viper.
The GTR is hardly a gamble for Nissan, they've been making it for years. I test-drove one, and loved the experience but decided the depreciation was going to be more frightening than even the performance. I went with the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series, a superlative car that lost very little over my three years.
I think Nissan is a company that really caters to people like us who love cars. Toyota and Honda also make great cars, I'll give them that. But the cars that Nissan makes, I can't really put my finger on it, but they really stir the emotions of us car enthusiasts. The GT-R is the symbol of this, and I am sure that the GT-R name will never die out even when EV cars become commonplace.
The part everyone missed is Renault's interest in not only Nissan and throwing their man Carlos into the fray when the opportunity arose, but also the ties to Mitsubishi's Weapons Systems in the Defense side that the French were coveting as well. Denying the charges against Carlos doesn't equate to proof of innocence either, and desperately getting smuggled out didn't help in his cause. His smugglers from the US are in deep doo doo by the way.

I'm a Nissan GTR Master Certified technician. I worked and serviced on many many GTRs between 2009 and 2014 . Awesome car.

The part everyone missed is Renault's interest in not only Nissan and throwing their man Carlos into the fray when the opportunity arose, but also the ties to Mitsubishi's Weapons Systems in the Defense side that the French were coveting as well. Denying the charges against Carlos doesn't equate to proof of innocence either, and desperately getting smuggled out didn't help in his cause. His smugglers from the US are in deep doo doo by the way.

@lucky889s9 that's why Carlos is getting evicted from his 30 million mansion in Beirut that Nissan has provided for him? That contract expired 4 yeats ago when he was arrested and fired. But get this, he's been 'squatting' on that mansion for the past several years even though Nissan no longer pays his rent, and he hasn't been paying either, now his own government is kicking him out. I guess you may understand the real story real soon when your hero is homeless.
@@rikidozan93 several years? Carlos was just arrested and fired from Nissan in late 2018. You missing the point here. Nissan accused him of embezzlement of company assets and purchases. But all the property is under Nissan name. If anything, Nissan can sell with profit if the value has increased. If it's about taxes, it's between the government and him, not Nissan. So what charges are Nissan accusing him for, really?? Because he is a high profile and successful gaijin?? For turning nissan around?
