It’s obvious at a glance what the 103 model series was created for: uncompromising functionality. They are designed to resemble cockpit instruments, in keeping with our company tradition. After all, the first watches we produced were mechanical aviation clocks for professional use. The patented technologies we have developed over the years are now also part of this classic Sinn chronograph.
The 103 St DIAPAL with its polished stainless steel case features a lubricant-free escapement (DIAPAL Technology). We use special combinations of materials that create no friction, even without lubrication, thus ensuring the long-term accuracy of the movement. To perfect the technical design, this model is equipped with Ar-Dehumidifying Technology. The movement is embedded in an environment that is almost completely dry. This reduces aging and prevents the crystal from fogging when exposed to sudden cold, and ensures reliable functionality and accuracy for a longer period of time. If you are looking for a traditional pilot’s chronograph equipped with a second time zone, a captive pilot's bezel and the latest technology, you will appreciate this model.
Damn that thing is cool 😎
Yep I have to agree with you there
That is a gorgeous watch. I have to admit this channel is making me think my next watch *has* to be a Sinn.
Will there be a U50 Hydro review in the near future?
Keep up the good work - the video are the perfect mix of detail and enthusiasm.
First Class Watches have said as soon as they have one, it's mine to review Mike. They really are top notch there 👍🏻
@@ClickSpringReview Cool! And now I just need to save up. Thanks for the personal recommendations of places to shop - it’s so important to keep the good businesses going.
Hi Barry, as you say, what a beast! It's superb. Thanks for this: it's my Sinn fix for the week! Have a good weekend Barry, LG Bob 🍻
Anytime Mr Bob always glad to help Sir :)
Great review on a very cool watch. It’s interesting that Sinn went with a 12 hour “GMT” hand. I suppose it helps keep the dial from getting too cluttered with 24 hour indices. Well executed!
Its true but as you say it keeps it cleaner and better for it 👍🏻
A phenomenal watch that's tempted me for a while. An interesting movement, but there's quite a range of 103s so its worth looking for the features you need (a bit like Swiss Army knives...). But for all Sinn's QA/QC, they can be dusty. I had to exchange a Sinn 144 for naked-eye obvious fibres on a chronograph sub-register. It's a problem a few brands used to have (eg Longines), but not many do today and Sinn could do better. But that aside, there's not many more serious watches than this, and cracking value.
It really is a beast when it comes to tech, unfortunately small particles can sometimes be found under the dial but I’ve never seen any on a Sinn yet, I’ve had a couple of Seiko’s before which had before, The only negative I ever hear of with Sinn is the US repair centre they use
This and the 356 Diapal are the ones that I love the most from Sinn. Probably the 356 over the 103 because of the tegimented treatment... That'd be my one and over watch. I also like the Fortis Novonaut too... would love to see a H2H between those two. Sinn and Fortis are such different brands in some regards and so similar in others... currently my faves ones. Thanks for the vid!
I'll see what I can do there I've only reviewed one Fortis so far and really liked it
Love your Sinn reviews!! Please do a review for the 103 TI AR UTC model when you have time. Thanks!
I like to review that myself and be sure if get the change I will Sir
Cracking review. Love the dial and bezel colour. Love the GMT hand. I’m not sure about the high polish on a Sinn though, not that it looks bad, I’m just not used to it.
This one looks and feels more premium than my one, and just on tech alone there are no models in its price range which can match it matey
Breguet makes one that looks alot like this one!
Actually there's one brand that I don't see many reviews on is Fortis !
I think it was the first company to put a rotor in ...I think it was 1926 ! Very good watches !
Yeah Fortis was the first company to use what's called a bumper automatic movement, it was developed by R R Haywood, I've serviced one they are pretty funky
Great watch but im surprised there's no 24 hrs markings for the GMT function
I have to agree with you there Wayne
Beautiful watch. I am a sucker for screw down pushers. Cheers!
Its a classic looking watch but full of modern tech
It's like you said. Great watch, great tech, but bloody hell is it thick!
I really like this one, as for thick it not to bad as it sits down on the wrist. I'm wearing a EZM1 which to many is the grail Sinn but thats 16mm thick, There are very few auto chronos which are less than 15mm and cost under £5k John
@@ClickSpringReview Well, there's the IWC 3706, which is also based on a Valjoux 7750 and stands at 14.5mm high, despite having a soft iron cage to protect the movement from magnetism.
Thats a nice model Sir but only has 60m of WR and no rotating bezel. I measure all the models I have in for review, the reason being manufacturers very often they don't include the dome of the crystal in the spec's and 99% of the online reviews just copy the spec sheet and don't bother to check themself. So I'd always take this measurements with a pinch of salt
@@johnnyguitar6697 I just reviewed a Laco yesterday were they state its 11mm but turned out its 11.5mm because they don't count the glass
I think I want this in the titanium with a canvas strap (grey or green) not sure wether to go preowned or buy new. Do you know if its grade 5 titanium or grade 2?
You cant goes wrong with this one its a super model but one you dont see from used that much. Being it has AR tech if you get it used one remember the service work will have to be done at Sinn themselves. I'm not sure which grade Titanium it is Sir
Wow wow. those beveled edges look steely sharp but that's serious wrist glare and dangerous when driving in sunlight. Must get it 😢
It makes it look so expensive I think the contrasting colours and finishing of the dial just look soooooo cool
Reminds me of the Tissot Powermatic 80, using untraditional materials that does not need lubrication
Yeah I guess the difference is Sinn use metal were as Tissot uses plastic
Gorgeous.
It really is and stands apart from the other in the range I think
@ClickSpringReview they really do make some incredible watches with equally incredible configurations.
I know I own a good few and got my first one back in 2009, I've well over 130 Sinn videos on the channel and have another coming in the next few weeks 👍🏻
Yeah they're almost a hobby themselves 😆😆
@@Anthony-s8v7b My first one was the EZM2 GSG9 Boxset I still have it today
If you melt that down, you can make a battleship
The case itself is pretty small at around 11mm its mostly Sapphire crystal Jasper :)
what do you mean 17mm?! 😂 beautiful, lovely, useful, great colour, no.
Its 17mm thick Sir many think thats to much. I think its a stunner
Beautiful but far too shiny for my taste, will make this a scratch magnet!
Thats a fair comment 👍🏻
Wow a fiber on the seconds hand at 9:33! Unacceptable! I have Sinn U2, so it hurts to see and hear about there QC problems.
Worrying about a nearly invisible fiber on a Sinn is like worrying about lint on your work boots.
I always say if it can't be seen with the naked eye its not there
