They are definitely more a diver and not a sports watch . It's more akin to a skin diver and the bi-directional bezel is in keeping with what the diver/skin diver watches were like in that era. The Model 60 was first released in the 1950's. The Black dial version have the LJP G100 calibre a more premium offering that ETA and has applied lume no applied indices.. The BOR bracelet is ver comfortable to wear - but agree is needs better more on the fly adjustment - something comparable to watch Squale offers. The Model 60 is using the same case as Aquastar's Deepstar 2 (DS2) & bracelet, and other strap offerings - however the Model 60 wears slightly smaller - because of the wider bezel ring the actual dial is smaller in comparison. They also offer genuine Tropic straps for the model 60's given Synchron own "Tropic".
Eyeing this one up as a potential 50th birthday gift for myself, and was told by my jeweler that the hands and indices are 18k gold.
Olnly, a fool would buy that when you can get a solar-powered G-Shock 😅😂😂😂
I do like the G-shock but it lack the history and look of this one
It’s a shame that it has a date complication - I would prefer a “no-date”…
A few people have said and maybe it could be a thing, I personally like it myself
Seiko over all in that price range.
There are so many other options at this price point
@ perhaps but it boils down to personal taste aesthetically, how well a watch is built, etc. Seikos higher level lines of watches like the SLA and SRQ’s offer excellent build and finish at their price points IMO. More desirable than Longines, Hamilton, and others but not quite on par with Omega, Breitling, Zenith, etc. Bought the SRQ053 reverse panda version of this watch preowned mint today as my first chrono and look forward to receiving it early next week.
100% agree with you about the dials 6,9,12 should be perfect.
They are ones which do it for me
What a broad church our watch loving community is. You cover a really diverse range of watches and that is a real service to us all. Needless to say, I hate this design, but appreciate it as being true to its time and period in terms of style. Perhaps a transparent case back to showcase the battery and liven up the design?
I do like a varied selection watches it has to be said, I like your idea of a clear case back 👍🏻
Cheers mate, I enjoyed your review of the only Bond watch I'll ever afford 😅 Thanks for showing the visibility of the OLED display, as most reviews lack showing it in different lighting conditions. I think the bigger one has a different display to the small one, hence the difference in visibility. It's the coolest digital watch on the market hands down IMHO.
Anytime matey I was amazed just how visible the display was in normal lighting conditions without having to push the button
Pond for pond wot do u thinks the best dive sports watch squale titanium or a sinn u1? Cant make my mind up 🤔
I do like the Squale titanium but the U1 is more iconic and has better bracelet and silicone strap options
@ClickSpringReview the sinn would U say it better made when U got a hold of them both or r Thay the same? . An yes Ur right the sinn is a legend!
The U1 just feels so solid and has its now unique look, it maybe bigger but is slimmer and the lug to lug is almost the same, I'd take the U1 personally, its only down side is the bezel action isn't as good as the Squale is
Can I ask Ur advice ? I got a new U boat chimera brand new some people say new watchs need a month break in ? Is that true after a week it was 1 minute fast. So stop it for a minute then started it back up now 10 seconds. I'm confused as my sinn an Damasko an Tudor were sweet! But bremont an breitling fast . 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I'd say normally after one day it should be ok if its only 10s that sounds about right for a U-Bout a demagnetiser may but only bring it down a little or if you don't wear it at night try leaving it crown on it side that may slow it down a second or two, bremont and breitling should both be less than 6s a day if they aren't try a demagnetiser
The display is so nostalgic. Great video, thanks.
Its the keep of watch I want but not sure how much I'd wear it
Pulsar was the name of the watch which Hamilton sold, but later sold the name Pulsar to Seiko. Hence the remake doesn’t same Pulsar but Hamilton.
Cheers for the info 👍🏻
This isn't a reinterpretation.
No it isn't really is it
Hi Barry, this is surprisingly cool to my jaded eyes. The "bezel" looks like a real scratch magnet though... LG Bob 🍾 🥂
The crystal sticks out so far it should protect bezel Bob 😆
Hamilton dive watches are disgusting.
Yeah its not what the do best thats for sure, but this is pretty funky H77845330
I love mine because my wife and son hate it. It is the PSR, though. Thanks for reviewing this!
Oops I need to change that , ps I love your reasoning :)
The bezel insert is actually not ceramic - it's made from steel that has their DAMEST coating applied to it.
Fair play I thought it ceramic shame thanks for the heads up
Best sub 1500k watch been looking at this ds7 but in blue dial not sure now after watchingbthe review
I completely agree with the this watch is a bargain
Glad to see a review of this. It's a well equipped tool watch that is trying to be a GADA with all the polishing. Shame as the polishing ruins it.
Polishing is easy to brush out of you wanted, its the other way round which is a problem
@ClickSpringReview are you suggesting I spend this much on a watch and then "fix it"? 😁
I'm saying spend the money on the watch and customize it to your liking , I'm a watchmaker and do this type of stuff all the time for people
@@ClickSpringReview I'm not spending money on watches that have design flaws in that price range. There is an incredible amount of idiosyncrasy in the watch world. And it seems that those on the inside cannot see the woods for the trees.
some people prefer polished and would say the same if it was brushed
They need to scrap the date and redesign the clasp. The black looks the best with the date. The others look cheap.
I like the date window as it doesn't mess up the 3 o'clock hour marker
Great vid! Recently picked up an SBBN017, absolutely adore it! Gotta be careful with the beautifully domed hardlex crystal, but I can’t see myself ever parting with it, a timeless classic. I think eventually I’ll mostly wear this, my G-Shock Square 5610 and a GS 9F quartz, and sell my other 20something autos. I’ve come to the conclusion I value grab and go accuracy above faffing. Maybe I’ll keep my SLA023, it’s a stunner!
Cheers Sir every collection should have a Tuna :) ps I sold my SLA023 to fund my Sinn 144 Anniversary type 2
Like that Red bezel and the domed sapphire crystal! Enjoyed the review. 4 O'clock Crown @TheDiveWatcher
Cheers Kashdon 👍🏻
I’m lucky to have the older Divers 65, a real struggle to find even in 2020. I can’t understand why Oris stopped this version with the Arabic numbers but, in a way I’m glad they did as I feel I’ve got something so cool. Still love this watch, I will never part with it. I do like the cream coloured dial in the new diver but doubt I’ll ever be able to afford one.
I think I got mine by swapping a Seiko MM200 Great Blue Hole for it back in 2021 and I serviced it myself earlier this year
How does this compare to the Certina DS Action 38? Tough choice between the two right now
Tough one but I do prefer the looks of this one
Being looking on and off at this piece, but why no HAQ movement. A £2800 watch with a £20 movement is just not on. They could easily have found something a bit better. Solar would also have been cool to extend the service life to 15-20 years.
The problem is they can't use the ETA movement out of the UX, I can only guess ETA is still under license to provide it for the UX as that model is now around 16 years old. Apart from Seiko I don't anyone else makes a HAQ movement which would fit the case
@ There are HAQ movements out there. If they can’t get one develop their own, if they can’t do that don’t be charging £2800 for the watch. It’s just not good enough to out a £20 movement in a near £3k piece. Not to mention having to send it back after 5 or so years for £300 just to get a battery. No it’s just not good enough for Sinn.
I don't of any other guys how make a HAQ movements which can with stand being placed in oil myself and company like TAG use movement which cost around the same price in many of their watches. remember the UX movement isn't that expensive either. The battery in my UX lasts around 7/9 years but is only rated at 5 years like the this one , So that works out at less than £40 a year for a full service on one of the deepest capable going dive watches in the world. I have a Breitling which has a ETA 2824 fitted in side it the watch RRP was £3 and get has a 2824 movement in it, the starting price of that movement is around £150. They say it needs servicing every 3 years, a complete service costs £460 so in 9 years that works out to £1380 vs around £250/300 for the Sinn
@ Point out something more expensive doesn’t make the other thing good value. Especially when you use Breitling as your comparator. It’s a cheap movement in an expensive watch. That has not changed. 10/y accuracy should be the benchmark for any quartz piece that costs £3k. Get a better movement or make the watch cheaper.
Ok what about Grand Seiko with their 9f movements start at £2.1k and go to £4k the battery lasts about 2/3 and costs £100 to service. The Sinn service isn't just dropping in a new battery, there are only 2 machines in the world which can do it correctly and it takes time to do this, I believe its about an hour just the get the oil right before that the movement has to be cleaned and checked. Being a watchmaker I know the true prices of many of the movements used in watches and it is what it is. Some UX owners get close to 10 years this can depend on the temperature where you life.
At 6:25 you failed to notice that the bezel has idiotic 72 click adjustment giving 20 minute increments, but there are no 20 or 40 minute time zones anywhere! 48 or 96 clicks would make perfect sense making 30 minute time zones like India possible or even 15 minute ones for countries like Nepal. They apparently lifted the adjustment ring from a diver's watch without giving it a second thought. Amazing indifference and negligence.
I got banned from reviewing Grand Seiko after I was negative about the clasp turns the rep seen this and ask I didn't review them again 🙄
@@ClickSpringReview I actually have GS SD GMT and like it a lot, except the stupid bezel GMT click issue. Has been running for almost 8 years at +0.15 sec/day... I tried to contact them about the bezel and the arrogant answer was something like "We do not take design advice from outsiders". And sorry, you did wonder about the strange clicks but did not dig quite deep enough. I also have the compact quartz GS GMT with fixed 24 hour bezel, that finds most time on my wrist out of my collection. By the way, nobody except my 3 year old granddaughter has noticed my GS watches... She asked about the extra red hand on it. My wife did once pick up the SD version, looked at it and just said "Seiko", as it is the older model. Close call...
I wanted to ask what ur studying in uni? As a student i love to see other fellow watch enthusiast. If possible could do Hamilton khaki navy frog man as compared to this watch.
I'm at the BCU's School of Jewellery in the Jewellery Quarter studying Watch & Clockmaker Sam What are you studying ps here is my review of the Frog Man :) th-cam.com/video/Nw5a-8NIGMQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9BCQxIhvra3rfEC9
Can the bezel be swapped out with the grey?
Yes I believe it can
Been speaking to John last couple of weeks, top man. Looking forward to my first delivery 🙂
Hes a real nice chap to chat to but it's never a short conversation :)
@ 🤣🤣 true!
@@Timjacks01 😂
Mille volte meglio il Seiko 62 mas
I think I prefer the Seiko 🫣
Damasko used to make cases for Sinn…
Yes its true I did say that in the comments to somebody 👍🏻
I dont know. It seems like seiko wasn't fully committed or all in on this model. They either cut massive corners or they left out a lot to be desired and that they had not been leaving out. This diver just isn't full blown Seiko and is about at 75 percent at what is the Seiko norm. I speak on behalf of my owning a couple of SLA Marinemaster divers and from my dive watch review channel 4 O'clock Crown @TheDiveWatcher. Great review!
Cheers Sir :) this model is more a new MM200 the new MM300 SLA079 is still available but unfortunately I think it still uses the 8L35 movement which could do with a update being it still takes a hole hour to change the date
Wouldn’t a 556I be a more apt comparison? I own an old Damasko DA36. The only thing I don’t like about it is that I prefer bracelets and the Damasko bracelet is pricy!
The DA36 as you say is a cool model like so many of theirs but they just need an affordable bracelet option, I should check to see if the Sinn H-link fitted it
I love it. Only two things I wished were different. Remove the high polished down the center of the bracelet and if the crown was at 4 o'clock
To be fair you have a point there
There is literally nothing about this watch that excites me. It’s really boring to me. Maybe the only redeeming quality of it is the shape of the indicies, because it reminds me of an Omega Peter Blake Seamaster.
Its actually a big seller for Hamilton lol
I'm not a fan of the shapes and proportions of the watch, but the red bezel is nice. Blue supernova also looks really nice in general even if it isn't as bright as the green supernova.
Its not a bad watch but there are just so many cool watches available at this price point
9m30 seconds....I rest my case, m'lud... Me, I'm getting Sinn/Muhle withdrawal symptoms... Have a good week Barry, LG Bob 🍻
Don't worry Bob I have lots of reviews stacked up including Laco Sinn Junghams, and new Brands like unimatic and crafter blue and many more
@ClickSpringReview 👍
What size wrist do you have?
7.25 inch
Nothing beats the 556!!
Its just so like able isn't it
Johnny Sinn wears this watch 😮
Who is Johnny Sinn ?
Thanks for your review. I’m a bit new to watches, but I wanted a Swiss ‘dress’ watch with a white dial for good, but not silly money, and this one fits the bill beautifully. Thanks for your comments on the movement and I didn’t realise it came with two straps. I ordered from First Class and I made sure they know I heard about it via your channel. All the best mate.
Thank you Andrew that good of you chap, Im always here if you need to know anything watch related 👍🏻
Amazing the movement that went to the moon.❤❤😮😮
It is a beautiful looking movement sir
@@ClickSpringReview absolutely gorgeous.
Low effort Swiss junk.
Its not something I'd buy myself
I wonder if they chose to waste all that space in the clasp because if you put the bracelet in any further then those protruding, polished-edge mid-links might scrape the edge and inside surface of the cover and get ruined?
I'd like to think you could be right but...
I’ve never appreciated seiko more than after seeing this sad looking diver. I’d take a $50 casio duo over this any day.
Indeed. There’s not even a lume pip on the bezel…
It could look better on a funky red silicone strap
Yeah not sure why they didn't fit one after all it is a scuba model
Ugly, generic and pointless watch, simple as that. Hundreds of divers on the market, and this has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The date window is just the final straw.
Thats maybe a little harsh :)
Why is the anti reflective coating so shit on this watch? Also the loom is terrible I own the black model
You think it would be better on this model being their top seller
The last watch that I planning on buying is a Sinn 556 to round out my collection. I was lucky enough to be born in Germany as a US Air Force brat, and such, I lived there in 1961 when Sinn started making watches. Maybe the #1 a bucket list item left to complete. Triple
Hi Barry, great video and one i have been looking forward to. I think the 556 just edges it for me. The overall look and easy to repair case edges it. DS30 is surface hardened submarine steel. So it will be very similar to Sinn tegiment steel, just more resistance to seawater. The ice hardened damasko's have less scratch resistance i believe but are harder overall against dents...not that ive ever really known a watch to dent...
Hi Adam I've emailed Damasko asking about this because this as there is so confusion, turns out this model isn't ice harden but harden in another way, I ce Harden models have a rating of 700Hv hardness Tegiment models have 1200/1800Hv and also are made of Submarine steel. I believe its still surface deep but not the exact thickness but will try and find out 👍🏻
Hi Adan I've had an email back from Damasko and turns out there submarine Steel models have a Hardness of around 1000/1500Hv
I thought so, thanks for confirming. It's surface hardened while the ice hardened cases found on some of their other watches aren't as hard, but are treated the whole way through. The more I research into case hardening, the more downsides I tend to see. I'd rather an easy to buff 556 case. I think in a lot of cases hardened cases can't have scratches removed.
they look identical from the case?? how so?
Many years ago Damasko used to make cases for Sinn but can't who came up with the design first
not syringe but pencil
Pencil hand are the type used on the Nomos Club Campus and look very different
@@ClickSpringReview gotty correct myself: one syringe, one pencil hand.
