    I loved the smarts of only putting the grip glue 3/4-ish to the end, keeping excess glue from being pushed forward as the grip gets installed, and ending up oozing out between the rubber and the switchgear pod in a potential ugly look. Very much looking forward to the Alumi-welding episode!

      @moonfleet41 - Del a random Q if I may? In past spray videos, as part of the prep for cavities such as bearings, you use some sticky white foam type stuff (technical description). Can I please ask what it’s called and where I can get some? You’re videos have inspired me to do some spraying on my own bike. TIA 🍻

      Hi Alex.. It's a product i use when im using the paint shop next door.. it's a professional paint shop product, they buy it in rolls in a big trade style box.. not sure of the name, but i haven't been able to buy it from anywhere domestic.. maybe trade paint supplies store etc... but you would be stuck with buying a 100ft roll and never use it all... How about using some foam draught excluder strip you get in the DIY store?.. it's pretty much the same stuff and works really well.. just roll it back on itself to achieve the desired diameter..!

    Del, any thoughts on the best heated grips to use? Just purchased a really nice low mileage Honda GL1500 and was planning on fitting heated grips. Been watching a few of your videos on the GL1500, will be using them as reference when I undertake general maintenance on the bike. My garage is getting rather full now with the GL1500 (2000), GL1100 (1982), Kawasaki Z1000 (1977) and my venerable old Honda C90 cub.

    Gripping vid! Alloy welding is like timing poached eggs on toast, 'Not quite . . . not quite . . . not qu- Oh dear & golly gosh, I've made a blob!' What broke the OEM though, a fulcrumic stress overload through poor design, some hidden casting malady forged by incompetence, an unfortunate tumble against the side of a parked Veyron perhaps? Either way, the old 'sudden twang-&-lurch-into-traffic' three-step is always an entertaining way to leave the lights, & does wonders for all those little muscle groups we so seldom get to use.
    So, given the boing-poundage grunting on the other end of that cable - Happy welding! : )xx

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the trick is going to be getting the 2mm thick pot metal up to temperature enough to melt the rods.. heating anything cast isn't easy, least of all thin cast ally !

      @Moonfleet41  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks buddy, it's a thin chance of success tbh, I'm purely giving it a go as I've got the rods, but it's 2mm cast pot metal... and as you have to heat it over 400c, it could well just blow apart, or melt! So we'll see that happens...
