You can move it from one set of handlebars to another by disconnecting it. We have several videos on how to do it here: www.lawabidingbiker.com/buyvideos
hey bro i bought a pair of harleys get a grip and the throttle grip has some play on it. not throttle play as acceleration deceleration but they wiggle in and out. my stock grips did that but these do it way more
Hmmmm, Id make sure that you pulled the assembly all the way up on to the bars before tightening the housings down. Sound like some slop might have been left.
thanks man, I've tried loosening the assembly and push the whole thing inwards already with the same results. next stop HD service center i got'em there. thanks for the reply and help👍
Had the same issue.. Little play on new grip (throttle side) grip went in & out about 1/4 inch. Ended up having to push the switch housing inward (toward dash) slightly and used m bell to seat grip fully and it took the difference away. No play throttle snaps back upon release. Hopefully it holds..

Great video, but what's with the heated grips on a bike? I live in Michigan and never had a problem with my hands getting cold that gloves didn't solve, also being a snowmobiler I see the use from them on snowmobiles but not motorcycles if it's that cold I'll just cage it as I don't want road salt on my bike.
We ride as long as we can, even into winter here. We ride in below freezing temps many times. We love riding. We also have heated grips on our police Harley's. We don't want to wear thick gloves. With heated grips we can wear our thin gloves. Once you have heated grips, you'll never go without them. Easy to turn on at a moments notice and get some heat up your arms into your core. Same with a heated seat. Rock on
I'm curious to know if there is anything else involved if the bike is older? I'm going to be changing the grips on a 2005 softail. The clutch side would be no different but i'm not sure if the throttle side will be the same. Thanks for the great videos!
+mvpbroker No real differnce. They haven't changed the wiring on the heated grips for many years. The only slight diffferences is exactly where they want you to tie into the main power. We have a heated grip install video that will have you covered. www.lawabidingbiker.com/harleyheatedgrips
Never hurts, but we don't anymore. 2015 you're fine. That's because the ramped the switch and lever and they go back together w/o sheering the switch off.

I discovered I had the old mechanical braking mechanism when changing my grips. Then I dropped the little brass piece that attaches to the brake line on the ground in a parking spot in my apartment complex during a thunderstorm. Then I spent 45 minutes searching on my hands and knees getting covered in oil and other fluids on the ground. Then I quit, lol. Guess I need a new part.

Love your videos. I have a question about removing the hand grips. I bought a new 2017 Street Glide Special and a new 2+2 Bars from Khrome Werks. I want to reuse the old grips. Any tips on removing the old grips besides a razor if they are not free?
The right side grip comes off easy as it is not glued to the bars. The left grip is affixed to the stock bars. We've found that if you squirt some penetrating fluid down the grip you might get it loose. We've had good luck and bad luck. You can always buy a new left side grip for about 8 bucks at your local HD dealer. Ride safe & Ride Often! Great video! Very helpful. I’m a New subscriber...... what kind of ape hangers and size are those on the road king at the beginning of this video? Thank you
I used a small spray bottle of water and a very skinny flathead screwdriver to lift the rubber up some to get more water under the grip. Then just twist and work the water between the grip and the handlebar. It should pull off pretty easily and you won’t have to cut them off in case you want to put the stock grips back on before trading the bike in one day.

Ryan, the ISO grips don't have the lugs that the HD grips have allowing it to slot into place
Some grips way not. Those require glue or set screws to hod them in place.

Great info! Any video that may cover install of the mini bar end turns signals? I have been increasing my visibility as much as possible...hoping to always be shiny side up versus a hood ornament!
Not yet, sorry.

Very good detailed video, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
How can i move the throttle sensor from one dragbar to another? Thanx for the video
You can move it from one set of handlebars to another by disconnecting it. We have several videos on how to do it here: www.lawabidingbiker.com/buyvideos
@@RyanUrlacher thank you sooo much my friend….. ride safe// greetings from Sweden
How do you change grips when the clutch and break are hydraulic with a master cylinder?
Will all grips fit all size bars?
Sounds like a sports announcer while he announing the tutorial of removing the grips which I appreciate!
Will these instructions work for 2013 H-D Street Glide? Thanks.
Great video...wasn't too bad.. thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.. Lance
hey bro i bought a pair of harleys get a grip and the throttle grip has some play on it. not throttle play as acceleration deceleration but they wiggle in and out. my stock grips did that but these do it way more
Hmmmm, Id make sure that you pulled the assembly all the way up on to the bars before tightening the housings down.
More videos like this please.

The housing doesnt lock at all. Why else would the oem grips be glued on. I had to put some layers of tape under the new grips
Rock on
would this be the same on a 18 Fat Boy
I'm curious to know if there is anything else involved if the bike is older? I'm going to be changing the grips on a 2005 softail. The clutch side would be no different but i'm not sure if the throttle side will be the same. Thanks for the great videos!
+mvpbroker No real differnce. They haven't changed the wiring on the heated grips for many years. The only slight diffferences is exactly where they want you to tie into the main power. We have a heated grip install video that will have you covered. www.lawabidingbiker.com/harleyheatedgrips
Hey Ryan just about to do this on my 2015 ultra limited. Do I need to do the cardboard thing on the brake lever on that bike to?
Never hurts, but we don't anymore. 2015 you're fine. That's because the ramped the switch and lever and they go back together w/o sheering the switch off.
Good job. Thanks for vids bro!
U betcha. Thanks for the shout out!!

Thanks Ryan! i appreciate the quick response! I plan on doing it tomorrow. Unfortunately, my closest Harley dealer is over an hour away and I'm leaving next thursday on a 300 mile trip on the Harley. Ill let you know how it goes!
This is awesome, I feel more confident to swap my own grips. Should I follow this same video for a 2017 Dyna Street Bob?
what about the right side grip video????
My after market grips seem to be a bit bigger then the originals. They slide on very easily. Is that a problem?
Not as long as the lock in place as designed and don't come off.

I have get a grips on my bike and I want to reuse them, how do I take them off without wrecking them
+bubbles12376 The throttle side is easy. The brake side is glued. Sometimes you can brake it loose by twisting it. you could always try a product like WD-40 to break it loose. If not, your local dealer has stock grips for around 8 bucks. Ride safe & Ride Often!

My heated grip on throttle has some free moving space, wobbling a bit. I installed in dealership. Anyone has any ideas how can I fix it ?
Loosen the grip housing and pull it up a bit. Then retighten. See if that fixes it.
Is this the correct way to change the grips on a 17' FXDLS??
Yup, nothing's changed....
Great video. Is the procedure same for 2010 softail? Anyways you have a new subscriber 😎
Should be. There shouldn't be a difference. If there is it will be small.

Great video! Very helpful. I’m a New subscriber...... what kind of ape hangers and size are those on the road king at the beginning of this video? Thank you
16" ==> www.lawabidingbiker.com/harleyhandlebars
I have a 2005 Road Glide everything is glued on the clutch side what's the best way to take this bastard off?
We just twist and turn them til they break free
I used a blade to take it off. They used to much glue to twist. Was a Bitch but I got it. New grips look sick and I used little glue.
This won’t work for my dyna, the controls won’t fit over the left grip
So, that's a cabless throttle cable ? 🤔
Electronic throttle

This was so simple
I had to glue mine as it didn't pinch in to stop it turning
It should have Steve. Never had that problem. Make sure it's in there just right. If it's not it will in fact slip.
Ryan Urlacher I was installing a pair of Kuryakyn ISO grips and as far as I can tell it was in correct, I'm putting a new pair on the new bike I've just got so I'll give it another go and let you know
What about changing heated grips?
Here is a link to our heated grip video: gumroad.com/l/harleyheatedgrips
Ryan Urlacher I already have heated grips. I want to switch them for a new model. Your video is for installing grips for those who don’t have one.
