kool video mate im running a 350rwkw 980 nm on a built btr with a 2200 convertor and a transmission cooler btrs get a bad rep but mines been great for a 4 speed
Mind is awesome 2 mate. The shifter is really fuckin fast. I will be making 550hp, and I reckon it will handle it as long as I'm not doing skids and silly shit
Yes you can now. Weren’t around when I put the videos together. I actually purchased the precursor to the switchable one about a month before they released the latest version. Would have waited if I knew.. 😤 Cheers for watching 🍻
@@oldskoolonly Ah ok. From Shift Kits Aus or a different one? You could always sell it and upgrade. Cheers for the videos, the manifold butterfly situation is really weird, and no one else that I have seen has mentioned it.
Hey mate, I don't know if I should do the bottom end on my ba xr6. I have a Spartan gt3584r turbo and plazmaman cold and hot side piping, 650cc injectors, performance tuned ecu and I will be running 10psi. I don't want to do skids or drag race it. Tell me what you think mate, that would be great. Regards Matthew Keim
Hey man, I’ve seen stock bottom ends handle 14psi and I’ve seen them let go at 10psi. Live anything, once you push past the safe zone, it’s a risk but I guess it’ll depend on your time and how you drive it. Good luck with it man, hopefully she holds together for you. I’ve been running mine at 8psi for almost 2 years and not had any problems 🤟🏻
@@oldskoolonly thanks for getting back to me bro!! I don't want to have to go the full bottom end, fuck It would be a big job. I'm very impressed with the motor, the best barra motor I've ever had. The whole motor and drive line are perfect. Not 1 leak. I'm not going to be doing skids or drag it. I went for the plazmaman full set up. I know the turbo is a bit of a over kill, but I know someone who is stoked with his. It's a slower spool but it makes up for it.
@@oldskoolonly I got lucky with my ecu. I bought it for a bloke in Victoria. He is a freak car dude. He tuned it for me for nothing. He said it was the best tune I will ever get. He owns a mechanic shop, and he drives a xr6 that is making 1200kw. Yeah and it had more in it.
Hi from South Africa, I have recently bought a mint 2006 Ford Territory GHIA and found this series. Very interesting and full of detail. I have learned quite a bit just watching you do this conversion. I know a hell of a lot more about my BA now. Thank you for this upload. 4:41, would it not maybe be better to have the actuator in the motor close to the intake and run the electrical wire to the boost gauge rather than a long boost line? Just a thought. I don't know much about cars much less about turbo'in one. Thanks anyway. Looks really neat
yes ive heard that about tuning the trans, mine is a slush box, i miss my old solid 727's and TH400's. i binned BF the trans coolant thermostat rubbish etc etc years ago.
Didn’t cost me a whole lot, definitely cheaper than buying a complete turbo engine, especially for what they are going for these days, but that’s all relative. But for me it’s all about the experience and the build
@@oldskoolonly thanks heaps for your help mate just about to put a Barra in my patrol and you’ve helped heaps with the turbo side of things, did you have to get a new fuel pump or was the factory one sufficient
Hey mate, can you link the water lines and oil lines, as im currently doing the same conversion on my FG NA (ps this has maade me pull the plug to do it)
The link is too old now to copy but this is the description, “BA BF Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo Braided Oil & Water Line Kit With Filter FPV F6” hope that helps
stock ones flare so much
like you said the transmission tuning increases the life and the drivability

You can just use a shift kit which has an on off switch.

Enjoying this more than I thought I would
I got some mad swivelling barbed fittings from Pirtek to fit the hose into the box when i did my oil cooler. Eliminates the plastic...

Cool man..
Mazda 3 turbo map sensor plugs straight on..cheap at wreckers
Nice to know, cheers 🍻
I used to use the e gas plugs when I ran my fg xr6t (was heavily bolt on mods with 440rwkw though ) but the e gas (with .075 gap) held high boost well
Hey mate! How much did all the turbo, inter poker etc cost you? I’ve got an xr6 bf mk2 I’m looking at turboing myself and curious on cost wise

Did you use the factory NA pcm or upgrade to a turbo one?
