    I am just SO impressed by how much you know about all this technical stuff. Did you learn this professionally or has it always been just a hobby? LOVE the reaction

      Thank you for watching! A lot of my music knowledge comes from playing the guitar and clarinet (as well as a bit of bass guitar), and being mentored by some truly incredible musicians. I've messed around with a couple other instruments too, but not to the degree that I'd consider myself one who can "play" them. I've also tried my hand at mixing and making music with a couple bands! I'm not a professional, but I believe I can point out things that may help newer musicians notice the finer details to a mix!

    The song is super good, she did a great job on it. She did mention in her debut that she's a huge fan of just theatre music in general along with watching musicals and it definitely feels like it shows in how she sung this. I really love it.

      Her voice definitely captures that theatrical nature! Her performance here was amazing!

    11:58 Yeah you're actually right! Nerissa herself translated the jp song into this amazing english cover.
    As such, I got a hint of originality to it compared to the original song since the english subtitles original is different compared to the lyrics she sang, but in a good way! She made the lyrics different in a way where the beats of the music is similar to the original, while also not straying off to the original message of the song when writing the lyrics.
    Everything I said is based on observation, I don't really have any knowledge in music, im not too familiar with the terms they use in vocals and in instrumentals,. However, I really really love to hear an amazing song, being sang by an astonishing singer, which is why I watch reactions such as yours, to understand and fully appreciate the work and effort they put into their songs. Thank you very much for the song analysis!

    Out of all of the Rissa cover reactions that I've watched, yours is my fave and hey you earned yourself a sub and I'll be binging the other reacts you did for Advent too. Your style has a nice good balance of technical know-hows and entertainment that the whole video was pleasant to watch. I hope to see your reaction to Rizza's God-ish cover soon.

    It’s SO NICE to see someone who not only notices how versatile a voice is, but can NAME what they’re doing! I could ramble about this stuff for hours, so I always hold myself back. Now I feel like a dog with the zoomies

    Love the reaction and analysis!! Nerissa's voice is absolutely stunning. I love the theatrical vibes with how she manipulates her voice. Thoroughly looking forward to more of her covers.
    Also not sure if you know but Finana just released a new cover "Forgotten Words" and I would love if you reacted to that as well! The harmonies/backing vocals alongside the song itself are beautiful!!

    I kinda want to make a joke when you mentioned the voice being instrument.
    In planetarium by suisei, her own voice was use to create music at the back so it was literally an instrument.

    Adding to other comments, she also said that she was in choir for like 8 years in school

  • @samsolitaryroll

    If you notice, in the end, the two "this is my happiness now", she sings with her full diaphragm voice, compared to the 1st verse where she use her head voice / falsetto. He got power to sing that high, but IDK if it's her usual power or just for this recording. I mean if she sing this on one of her karaoke stream in the future idk if she can reach those high notes with her true voice.

      Also, now I wish for her to cover Bury The Light with the base note rised from D minor to F minor, it would be perfect for her. But, yeah, a wish...

    • @ScribbleTheTalkingSketch
      @ScribbleTheTalkingSketch  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ooh yes a bury the light cover would be super cool! I don't know how plausible that is, but I suppose I can hope!

    You're so right with your Disney Princess-like comparison, I'd be very surprised if Nerissa didn't use to be a theatre kid lmao

    I think some of points that was "off" for you is done according to what are lyrics about..nice break down.. she mentioned "choir" "classic" music as stuff she enjoys..as soon as I seen that I knew we about to get some amazing music from her

    Can i suggest Millie’s cover of The Good Child and the Fox Spirit which is also from Kikuo? I bet you’ll love analyzing that song as well. Thanks!

    Goddamn her vocals are off the charts!
    Also, quit pausing while listening and watching will ya?!

    • @ScribbleTheTalkingSketch
      @ScribbleTheTalkingSketch  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I can understand that my pausing can be a bit much! That said, the point of this video is my commentary and "reaction", I don't want my content to be nothing more than my face plastered over someone else's mv. To watch and hear the mv in its entirety, please go to the creator in question! It's the reason why I always link the video I react to in the description.
      Again, I understand that I do pause and talk a lot, so I will consider lessening that; however, just as there are people who want me to talk less, there are also those that like hearing me talk more.

      ??? hes doing a reaction AND an analysis on the song and her voice, hes gonna pause and talk about things. if you wanna listen to the song without someone pausing it then watch it on your own time
