Hei hei - I forgot to tell you that your red dress is gorgeous and it looks wonderful on you. That shade of red suits you so well - it lights up your face.😊
😊❤️
When you vanished inside your shawl…. 😂 so adorable. Love your podcast!
Hi. I am so glad that I discovered you recently. You are so genuine and so fun to watch. You’re a beautiful knitter. I am a Canadian living in the US and have a high school friend Sara who has been living in Tampere for 30 + years. She gets very lonely during Midsummer without family there so she is coming to visit me in Maine for a month. We are both so excited to be reunited. Lots of knitting to be done. 🎉❤
I love this woman !cheers me up and great company while I knit 🙂🌸⭐🐔
Finally sat down to knit and listen. Hoping 2024 is kind to us all
You are so silly. Love watching you. Wish I could knit like you.
Thanks Jana for this podcast. Glad your daughter’s surgery went well. Love the dress - it’s super. 😊
Thank you! ❤️
Every good wish for you and yours for 2024 Jana...I love watching your podcasts....I find it so relaxing knitting with you. I live at the other end of the world...in New Zealand...so I so appreciate your comments on life up where you are.😊
Thank you for a nother cosy episode ❤ have a lovely Sunday
I love your chestnut dress and it goes well with the newly knitted shawl. The sheep camp Sweater is really a great knit. The wrap is so colourful.
Plans and making more mindful garments sounds good. Heippa ❤😊
That red dress is so beautiful und looks so good on you 🫶
Как же красиво смотрится этот оттенок красного на тебе! Вау!
So happy I found your channel today! 🎉. I’ve knit a few of Sara’s gnomes too, all have been gifted. I’m a new spinner, love your art yarn, perfect for a hat. I look forward to your sunny sharing this year, happy 2024!!
Spincycle is always a bit of unpredictable magic! Your Sheep’s Camp is especially pretty!
You're the best, Janna! You make me smile and feel motivated to embrace the cozy and the hibernating. We/ve only just had some cold and snow so I'm not sick of it at all, just loving it, but if I was in Finland with such cold for so long I would probably be feeling the blahs too. Thanks so much for recording and sharing your knitting and life with all of us. I wish you and your family a healthy and happy new year!
Thank you so much! I'm a bit tired of shoveling, but I'm still enjoying the snow. 😄 It's so pretty outside!
So happy to see you're back! I hope Sophia's surgery went really well. Your dress looks so warm and cosy, and your Sheep Camp is stunning! I don't like all those "what I knit in 2023" podcasts, because we have seen them already last year, didn't we?! What I would like to hear from you, how does the yarns hold. So maybe you can show us some older knits that have been worn (a lot) and tell and show us about the pilling etc. Take care!
I would love a shawl special. always looking for inspiration and i seem to like the same things you do.
Good podcast. Good to see you. Like your dress. Great job.
Janna I so appreciate you. When you were listing off the numbers of items you knit. I kept wanting to say "and a partridge in a pear tree" It is a Christmas carol that is called the 12 days of Christmas. Hopefully you are familiar with the song. I am happy you were able to make so many items that gave you joy and you still had less woolly goodness that you started with. Sounds like a win/win to me. Big hugs
Oh, I was holding myself back not to go... Two turtle doves... 😄
Your reply made me chuckle and made my day 😄@@FinnishKnittingStories
Love your videos. Thank you for the laughs and inspiration. ❤
So glad to see you. 3 days ago it was 23c but today it's -10c! Texas doesn't do this temp well. My adult son was in the hospital with congestive heart failure. Side note, we got to the ER just after the first victims of a nearby gas explosion got to the hospital. And of course I had my crochet with me. He's doing well. Today I have a cozy shawl and throw to keep me warm while I knit and crochet. Although I need to go make more tea. Bye.
I'm wishing your son a speedy recovery! ❤️
Happy New Year, I absolutely loved Vlogmas this year. That is how I found out about you and Vlogmas. I just rewatched your last podcast; missing you!!. 😢. I am looking 👀 forward to spending the year with you and your 👪. Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful year filled with peace, joy, and all the love and hugs you can handle.
Thank you so much! ❤️
You look beautiful in your knitted red dress 🧶
Happy new year, missed you after vlogmas, so used to see you every day. What a nice shawl and lovely dress. Glad to see you were not covered with snow. Have a good week and see you next weekend.
Beautiful start to the new year !! Loved your new shawl, so pretty. It sounds like you live in such a beautiful area, by the sea is such a dream.
Your Self designed scarf is wonderful.
We have been eating lots of soups too, tonight I’m making kimchi tofu mushroom soup with cornbread.
Happy Knitting in 2024😊🧶
It is 37.9 above zero love your show Alison
Thanks for a lovely episode,Jana 🙏.So glad things are settling down .Soup sounds good 👌🥣Have a peaceful Sunday.❤️👋🐨🌏xx
Thank you, Annie! You too! ❤️
Make 1 / 9 are really good ideas. I really want to use my stash and I bought those books for a reason.
Lovely video as usual Jana, love all the projects you’re making and the dress turned out amazing. Wishing you the best in 2024, happy to hear your daughter’s surgery went well.
I’ve been sick for the last week, seems like Covid but not showing up on the tests, so must be a different strain. Take care, be safe and look after yourself. 🥰🙋🏼♀️
Thank you! Get well soon! ❤️
I love your gnomes, so cute! I think I’m going to look into the gnome knit a long for next year. I was so excited to see your vlog pop up, I have been looking for your next video for the last few days. I guess I’m missing you after vlogmas, I really enjoyed it. I’m so happy I found your vlog.
Gnoming is always fun!
I've been feeling a bit sad after vlogmas, but I have lots of new video ideas for spring. 😊
Coffee ☕ Kahvi ☕ Kafija 😌
I love Your Squirrels Earrings. 🐿️👀 They are soo Beautiful.
You always wear very stunning earrings, I love all that are made with wooden. 🤗💖
I make my own earrings ( just for myself ) .. n I always like to incorporate some wood.😎
Funny enough .. last Christmas I received such a beautiful gift of diamond earrings, ✨ yet d whole year I been wearing my wooden earrings instead. 🤭💖
I love Your extra colorful shawls. 👀💖
Soo stunning, now I want one too. 🤭
Thank you! I really like the wood ones, because of how light they are. Large earrings tend to be heavy and hurt my ears, but not the plywood. 😊
@@FinnishKnittingStories Yes, I like it for d same reason. 💖 I can wear larger earrings without my ears fallin off. 👀🤭
Great to see you today. You have lifted my spirits. I happy to hear that things are little calmer now, with Sofia's surgery out of the way and more work for your husband. January is a tricky month: weird anticlimax after all the things of December. But, I recall from previous years that you often become competely exhausted, so avoiding that this year is a big win :) I go into hospital on thursday for surgery. I will be taking my knitting in with me: an adaptation of the sophie scarf in a wonderfully soft, squishy manos del uruguay maxima in the peach melba colourway. All the things for comfort. x
Hurrrah! Love to watch you. Have sat down to knit and loving watching you. Very best wishes to you xx
Just came across you today and love your chat ! You sound like a fun friend to have and my mind set ! X
Thank you and welcome! ❤️
Beautiful dress and shawl
Happy New Year! Am am slow going after Christmas this year too. Not at all my usual. But the deep cold has arrived, and that always drains the energy.
I sure enjoyed the visit here with you! And yes, knitting is a happy thing. I can see it in your projects, all of them delightful and cheerful.
This year I am working on drinking more nice fresh water. Before tea or coffee, and moving more. And besides sweaters, I think socks are on the agenda. Lots of socks.
Hope you have a good week! I love your version of the sheep camp sweater!
Yes, we all should drink more water! ❤️
Hi Jana! Good to see you here in 2024. Happy to hear that all is well and everyone is healthy. 🙂
Your 2023 achievements were wonderful. The dress looks very nice. That vibrant red is working well on you and I love it. 😍 January is a tricky month for most of us and we just need to look ahead and anticipate a great year. 💡
Have a wonderful week. See you soon. TFS! ❤
Thank you! ❤️
Your knits are always marvellous. Really like your approach to future knitting. All the best for you and your family in 2024.
Lovely everything and yourself too x
I hope that you and your family have a wonderful and blessed 2024!
Wishing you a healthy, happy full of love 2024.
Hope 2024 is good to you and your family. You inspire me to finish what I have started, and tackle new projects. Your productivity is, well, amazing.
Happy New Year. I don’t feel bad comparing my finishes to yours; I am in awe of your knitting speed.
Happy New Year! Nice to see your podcast again. Beautiful knits as always; the red dress, the sheep camp, all stunning. Take care till next time.
Your “year in review” has been my favorite by far 😊
I’m glad to hear that Sophia’s surgery went well! Take care, Jana!
Thank you! ❤️
It is good to see you today! Happy New Year! I love all your projects! The dress is beautiful and the shawl with trees also! Can't wait to see what else you are working on..
Lovely episode. That dress you just made is gorgeous. That colour really suits you too 😊😊😊
Happy new year - it was good to see you - gorgeous wips you’ve 🧶
i'm a giant ball of wool 😂 i LOVE the advent wrap. i really wish i got a homespun house advent for 2023. it's my number one pick for 2024 I think!
Happy New Year! Your Advent Wrap is spectacular. I have so much yarn envy that I didn't join that advent from A Homespun House. This year I definitely will.
I say 'envy' in jest. Inspired might be a better word.
The advent wrap is knitting up nicely.
Lovely episode once again ❤ looking forward to your WIP special of 2024 😊
😍Thanks again for a lovely and everything nice podcast. I fell so much in love with your Sheep Camp sweater - I started it right after - I had DROPS Air and 2 threads of a lovely mohair for the pattern. I bought that mohair in Finland years ago - in a town in southern Finland . Maybe it was your town? We were on our way to Karelen (it is in danish)- near the russian border. Hugs from Pia in Denmark
As usual was delighted to see you there when I opened up - can we do vlogmas again?🙃💞❤ You bring me Joy - Bless you and your lovely family
Ahoj Jana , ďakujem za to že robíš videá vždy sa velmi teším, tá šatka je prekrásna,si veľmi šikovná ❤
I will be knitting gnomes too one day i will need some small circulars or dpns for that. I loved allvyour poryects and the color ful wrap and shawl are so cute. Your new sweater is looking gorgeous u like the colorwork. I hope Sophia's surgery went well
I like dpns for the gnomes. 😊
@@FinnishKnittingStories I will get some 🩷
Yeah, you‘re here again! Happy!
An happy News year, dear Jana for you and your family! 🎉
Lovely to see you again. Happy 2024!
Chilly here, going to be below freezing for 2 dats at night, will not go as high 50 degrees. We think that cold, here in Mississippi. Knitting a hat.
Stay warm!
Your jingly bell 😂 i kept looking around for one of my cats. The A homespun house is knitting up so beautifully 😍
Oh my word, the colours of your jumper 😍 perfect soft colours
😄 Thank you!
Today is January 13th here in Calgary, Alberta Canada and our temperature is -27 Celsius. It is to be cold again tomorrow. By Thursday we are to be +4. Who knows if that will happen. Pressure headaches are very common here. I find an ointment with a eucalyptus oil in it on the temples and back of neck helpful. Be careful going outside with that on the skin though.
I understand what you mean about January. This has been a tough month so far and it isn’t usually. I cleaned up my yarn stash too. I’m going through my books too.
I’m going to cast on the Stockholm slipover this week. I discovered what I wanted to use while going to my stash.
Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. All the best to you.
Oh, that is cold. Stay warm and cozy! I hope things will look brighter for all of us once spring arrives.
Your shawl is beautifully knit 😍 it's plenty big enough. You're definitely a big pile of wool with it on 😂
Good morning and a very happy New Year to you and your family. I sit quietly watching your podcast regularly and enjoy them immensely. Thank you
Happy New Year to you and your family, Jana. You have had a remarkable year of knitting in 2023, and your plans for 2024 sound reasonable and inspiring. Your red dress is stunning, and I think you should knit another one in 2024, this time in a beautiful shade of blue.
Thank you! Blue? That sounds adventurous! 😊
@@FinnishKnittingStories You've received compliments whenever you've worn blue in your videos here, and I think it's one of your best colors. That dress is just wonderful and deserves a Make Again.
loved your vlogmas in 2023, again thank you for the sharing. your red dress is beautiful and i applaud your stamina in knitting it. happy new year !!!!
Technically Frannie has until Feb. 2 to take down her Christmas deco. ;) Happy New Year!!!
I'll tell her that. 😄
Happy New Year🎉❤
Love all of your podcasts and had learned a lot of it too🙏
Happy New Year, Jana. Lovely to watch you again today. Loving all those current WIPs!
🍀
Happy New Year to you and your family, Janna! Your sheep camp sweater is fantastic! I also loved your Fox Tail scarf! It's very inspiring! You could write a pattern for it. I'm sure many people would be interested in knitting it with advent yarn they have. Can't wait to see how yours will turn out.🦊
Thank you! Need to think about it. It's a great scrappy project. 😊🦊
Oh, la vache qui regarde passer les trains ! French ! Do you know what it means, Jana? I wanted to say that the way you have assemble all together the yarn for the advent shawl is an honor to it, it’s very touching ! Happy New Year !
🙋♀️I am going to knit something from a book for the first time , I think I will be mentally ready to figure out new knitting language and style. I been getting used to pattern with most of my go to designers and that was holding me back from a knitting book I guess. Loving all your plans for 2024. ❤ happy new year .
I’m casting on the sheep camp sweater soon. Just caked up the wool. I too have had it to knit forever. We were traveling in the SW in the US in our RV. It reminded me so much of the high desert.
I love how everyone sees something different in that sweater. ❤️
It was so nice to see your video today. I have a nice cup of tea and two of the Sea Salt candles that you showed us how to make last year. I love them! Your dress looks so great on you! Happy January!
Happy New Year! I love your dress❤
Your knitting is so beautiful ! I really enjoy your podcasts. Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year. ❤
❤
Aw Jana! You are wearing your red dress ❤❤❤ what a beauty! I usually buy myself a mobile for the sitting room after I take the xmas decs down, this year it was Swallows xxx
We have a reindeer mobile above the coffee table, I never take it down. 😊
Really enjoyed your podcast. The red dress is lovely. I have a sheep camp on the needles but it's in time out because my count is off on the colorwork 😢I have to rip back. Your yoke is lovely. I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one who has a weakness for knitting pattern books.I have a LOT. My favorites are the ones published by Laine. The photography is stunning.
Oh, I hope you get your stitch count issue solved. It's always a pain to rip back colorwork.
I also have a lot of books by Laine. I should probably start knitting more from them. 😄
Not every 2023 review is equal. I appreciate very much to hear how the yarn was holding over time. That is something you don't get from regular podcast when recent FOs are presented.
I agree! That's always nice to see.
Happy New Year Jana! I love the projects that you have finished as well as your wips. You are so inspiring with the number of items you have completed. As i was watching this video, I sorted through my big bag of wips to decide which ones to finish first and which ones will be unraveled and repurposed. Good idea to keep a list of projects and goals too. Thanks and take care. Happy Hibernating! ❤🧶 Kris K from Connecticut USA
so happy to see you again and I love all of your FO's and WIP's - and plans! It was funny, I was putting away my Christmas decorations (no judging, right?) nd kept hearing the little jingle bell from your knitting and thought it was me! happy new year to you and family and I hope your 2024 is amazing, Jana!
😄
I love your dress!! Happy New Year!! January is so hard to end and begin. Love to your Family!! adorable squirrels outside and the earrings!
Happy New Year to you and the family 🎉...love the chestnut dress..such vibrant colour...I enjoy your vlogs very much..I am looking forward to your knits on 2024...have a great one..
Another lovely episode. ❣️ I love the dresses you made this year. I pulled out my Sweet Fern dress from hibernation. All excited about knitting it for sure this time. However, after 2 inches of lace work discovered it was twisted 😩😩. So it’s been frogged. 😟
I raised my hand about buying books and not knitting from them. Knitting books are so lovely but I should definitely be making some things from them. And wanted to say I made butternut squash soup too and planning to finish the last of it for dinner tonight. 😎😎take care and stay warm 🥰
Oh no! Sorry about your dress!
One of my favourite dresses (Maire) is knit from the book. And I've made it twice, so that's a well-used book. 😄
Soups are great in winter! I need to figure out the next one.
Good to see you Jana and Happy New Year! I am knitting along with you on my fist Anthology throw using stash scraps. Your projects look fantastic! and that gnome MKAL was a lot of fun--my first (for advent), though my arms were all too long so I shortened them so that they both have beefy biceps/shoulders under their scarves 😂 I hope to spin more this year, also. Enjoy the soups and hibernation and knitting/spinning! See you next time.
The arms on my gnomes were too long as well. 😄
Happy new year Yana and family! I have been waiting for your progress on your polesden scarf or shawl. You inspired me for my advent, and I purchased the pattern, and am knitting it😊, with suri sections in between, as my advent was 12 day. Take care,Melissa
Thank you! I'll show it next time. 😊
how about the 365 days of the whole year christmas dress 😊
Yes!
What’s the trick for getting hold of Nutiden? Whenever I go to their site they have nothing for sale. 😢 Also, the “sheep camp” sweater reminds me of the “flying geese” quilt pattern. Thanks for another nice vlog post Jana!
Nutiden is made in a small mill with a limited capacity, and they release collections several times a year. Once it's gone, the shop is closed and you need to wait for the next one. They usually announce the release dates on their Instagram and webpage. 😊
Happy new year ;) Thanks for blogging. About slipovers/vest: What about "Blomstring Slipover" by Fiber Tales? I`m knitting one (not in pløtulupi, but in Jarbos 3 trådig... because thats what I had in my stash). I`m also longing to cast on Field Vest by Camilla Vad. Happy knitting
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll check it out.
Kiitos, Jana!❤ Täällä neulon Toivo-huivia toistamiseen, koska lahjoitin ekan huivin ex tempore ihanille nuorille Helsingin keskustassa viime syksynä. Ja hupsista, miehän neulon sitä huivia sun värjäämäatä langasta! 😍 Kuinkas sattuikaan... 😅 No sugar, no cream. Everyday sock merino. Ihana väri! 💜
Olemme Pyhällä synttäriviikonloppua viettämässä ja lataamassa mielen akkuja. Ihanaa oli aloittaa tämä sunnuntaiaamu sun seurassa, kiitos! ❤
Happy new year Jana, love your shawl you might like snow fern shawl Kalurah Hudson
Thank you! I'll look it up.
Did anyone else hear the singing??? 9 pairs of socks... 5 Golden rings... 😅😅😅
Oh, I was holding myself back so hard while recording that bit. Two turtle doves... 😄
Happy New Year to you and your family!
May I ask what happened to that white winter coat you started knitting in November?
It was on a break during December, but now it's back on my needles. I'll show it next time. 😉
How do you plan to spinn your advent? I‘m a new spinner and got the same advent, but I have no clue how to approach it. Would you consider talking about how you plan to do it?
Love your podcast!
Happy new year!
I was thinking about making 2 ply mini skeins. That's probably the most versatile option. I want to knit a poncho, but if I change my mind, I can knit anything with them.
@@FinnishKnittingStories thank you!
Happy New Year to you and all your family Jana 💕 You've inspired me to have a go at learning some Finnish with Duolingo. Not got very far yet, but I can say Suomi on kaunis maa ja sinä olet todella mukava nainen 😂🤭😂
That's wonderful! I just started learning Swedish with them. 😊
Welcome back! Waiting for it for a very long time! 😀 I have a question belonging to your dress: How do you manage it, that your dress doesn't stick on you? Especially on your legs, wearing tights?
It does stick to my tights, but I just bought an antistatic spray, I hope it helps.
Happy new year! I've been meaning to ask you how many plates of Nutiden you used in your dress? Also did you hold it double? That dress looks so cozy!!
Thank you! I used 500 g of Nutiden for the dress. I held one strand of Nutiden with one strand of silk mohair. 😊
@@FinnishKnittingStories I never comment on videos but I want you to know how much I enjoy yours. I feel like we're friends.
