Thank you for these beautiful suggestions. I bought the Quilted Heirloom Cardigan! Wow! Thank you! You are such a light in the world and I appreciate being part of your TH-cam circle. ♥️🐑♥️🐑♥️
OMG, I love all of these patterns. You're a such a delight and inspiration to watch. Keep shining your light so brightly . . . . the world needs light. 🥰
Greetings from Laval, Québec, Canada! I'm new to your podcast, but I'm convinced I'll be a repeat offender. Lovely to hear you mentionning Smilla. Got to learn about her from Selma, of Little Big Knits podcasts from Ottawa. I finished the Pressed flowers shawl four days ago and I've been wearing it everyday since it's been dry. Just looove it more than I could have imagined. I made it with Sandnes Garn Alpakka in Hunter green and with FeederBrook Farm Entropy DK in Kinetic Energy and I have some yarn leftover that I was wondering what to do with. A Pressed flowers hat it will become! Natasja Hornby is one of my favorite designers and I have tons of her pattern in my queue. Her latest was already on my radar and I'm glad you mentionned it so that the knituniverse could get to see it. The Fruity knitting podcast has an in depth interview with her that is mind blowing in all the détails it reveals about her creative process. I highly recommend it. Well, I'll stop here, or else I could go on forever about knitting... my favorite thing. Happy to have found you, Looking forward to diving in your archives for earlier épisodes. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to share your passion in such a lovely and interesting way.
Thx Kaci for a great podcast with your favourite colourwork patterns. Natasha’s shawl is exquisite! The yoke on your latest sweater is really fabulous and I love the colours. Sandnes Garn is a wonderful yarn and so well priced. Thx for another great podcast, looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for another great podcast and for once again doing the work of finding great patterns for us! Many years ago, I taught my college housemates how to knit during January term. To keep it interesting, quick and worthwhile, we all knit Icelandic sweaters. Thick yarn, fun design and everyone ended up with a beautiful garment appropriate for Minnesota winters. Because I started them with color work they assumed it was just normal knitting…which it is. 😂 ❤🧶
Love all your picks for colorwork! Those mittens would be beautiful in rust and honey colors. And now you've got me wanting to knit the Celest Sweater. Thanks for the inspiration!
Although the colorwork sweaters are very beautiful, their thick fabric is very warm for the place I live. So I can only admire them....Many kisses from Athens, Greece.
I almost fell over when you mentioned the Native knitter! (I'm Native from the west coast of Canada, and it just made me SO HAPPY because I got some local Klondike yarn to do colourwork with). Anyways amazing roundup as always!
I have only recently found your podcast and I am totally enjoying binge watching them all. I am not the most confident knitter, but I am learning so much from your podcast. I not only love your colour palate but also your music choices. 💕
Ooh, I went right over to see the Pressed Flowers hat, and it seems to work up at 19"...I have quite a larger head than that 😒...maybe I'll try it with DK yarn, and it would end up bigger. I enjoy watching Leena of Another Knitting Pod...her current active WIP is the Heirloom Quilt Cardigan 😊
Oh Yeah Baby!!! I too immediately put the Artus Shawl in my queue. We have in common autumn as our color palette and I too love, love, love the colors in this shawl. Now to see who starts and finishes their’s first. ;)
I have been obsessed with the Artus shawl since she began posting about it. Upon release, I immediately purchased the pattern and got the yarn in the pattern. I did substitute the main colour for ‘nutmeg’. I cannot wait to knit this up. It is a dream knit for me and will definitely be a challenge!
Natasja is doing a KAL for the Artus shawl starting 1/1! She let that drop in her newsletter. I'm definitely planning to make it. I've made two others of her shawl designs (Yara and Anthe) and they are my absolute favorite things I've made. I will be contemplating colors until 1/1 and joining the KAL for sure.
This is a great podcast. I appreciate sharing your beautiful suggestions on patterns. I loved many of them. I especially love your discussion on the specifics of different yarns. That is so helpful. I have been thinking about the Celeste Sweater for awhile and now think it is a must knit. I loved the colors you choose. Hopefully you will have those listed somewhere at some point. I have no idea how you get so much knitting done. So many beautiful things to knit and so little time. All of the PetiteKnit and Natasha Hornsby patterns could be a must knit. Thanks for the inspiration Kaci!
Thank you so much for highlighting these gorgeous patterns! They are a feast for the eyes. I have added several to my Ravelry queue. Your Celeste sweater will be stunning and I love your colors.
Thank you Kaci for showing these beautiful patterns. Lucky me, next week I have a workshop by Natasja Hornby for mosaic knitting. As you I just love her shawls.
I actually got to test knit the geometer sweater, and it was a blast to knit. I really enjoyed making this one. I knit mine in Pishkun from FDF and dyed in the wool, and it worked great.
Dear Kaci Thanks for the tip about the Thursday Murder Club a few episodes ago! I knit the Agnete Cardigan while listening (for example). Thank you also for your knitting inspiration! 😊 Best wishes from Zurich
Oh that Artus! It stopped me in my tracks when she released that one, I didn't know she had designed it with Lichen and Lace though! Yay for Canadian Yarn!!!!
Awesome ideas!! I just tried the new Drops Daisy which seems like a knock off of double sunday. It sounds like it's very similar. I loved knitting with it! I just finished a no frills with it and it's so comfy!
I love your color combination for the celeste sweater ❤, as a person who lives in North Europe, I definitely want a more cheerful color but not too over the top sweater for daily wear
Thank you Kaci, my colorwork project is in hibernation it`s the beautiful Academic Vest by Skeindeer knits. To knit colorwork two handed I can only dream of.... My brain gets in double knot mode with that technic :)) much love from Germany
I love stranded colourwork. I made sheepcamp sweater, but the yoke was huge, and I frogged it. But may cast it on again in a smaller size. Just a heads up😊. I also love Moonstruck knits designs. ❤.
I have made 2 stranded colorwork hats and i know i am going to keep it up. I like a little lace and texture, cables are where i start getting scared haha
Some of these patterns are lovely, thank you. It would be nice to see patterns that use long color changing skeins of yarn. Noro came out with the first ones, but there are lots of indie dyers and commercial dyers that have even 200 gr or larger skeins with really long color change.
thanks for sharing! Looking forward to your teased collab with Wooly Knit for the Quilted Heirloom Cardigan.. I've ordered from Woolyknit before and absolutely love their yarn, but the shipping to north america (canada) has been steep... can you comment on this in your collab video?
what beautiful dry flowers/ herbs is the short yellowish/ orange-y beige bouquet right behind you? it looks so beautiful. Would love to get something similar for my home
Just lovely! I want to get better at colourwork. I made the Haunted House cowl from Tellybean knits this Oct, but it was a struggle. I feel like my tension is all over the place. Do you have any recommendations or videos I should watch?
If you like to knit socks, the patterns by Charlotte Stone (Stoneknits) have been built, per say, with a bit of a safety net. She has you increase to the next size (if you normally knit 64 you increase to 72) for the colourwork sections of the sock. I cant speak to her all over patterns yet as I haven’t knit one yet, but the fit is really nice. She talks about her design process in a recent FruityKnitting episode! Really good watch. 😄
Unfortunately just practice! The more you do it the more your tension will even out. It’s definitely a different horse compared to single color knitting
Sorry to say, but the beautiful Heirloom Cardigan is not a scrappy yarn project. Or it depends of your definition of "scrappy" ... I think, it will work out fabulous with using different colors of ONE yarn quality. And the "estonian socks" are made with a multicolored woven inlay, a kind of embroidery. I am knitting a sweater with this kind of colorwork and I am not sure, if I want this kind of technique - weaving the ends ... - for socks. I also missed magnificent (and free!) patterns like the Flagship Vest. You are doing a great job, but this time I really missed the stunning ones and the detailed information.
Try a cowl knit in the round, use fairly low contrast between colors so it will be more forgiving if your stitch sizes vary. It’s low risk and that’s how I found out how much I enjoy stranded knitting. My second or third project was the amazing Scout Shawl in Kaci’s list-I am so proud of that! Give it a try. ❤
Hi Kaci! 👋 I'll be referring my viewers to watch this episode as, in January, I'm running a year long #colormebeautifulmal2024. Please accept my invitation to join in too!! I'll be knitting the Dala sweater. I wouldn't put the name of my podcast here without your permission so let me know if that's OK.
I don’t know if this is tight but a fairvisle designer said if only using 2 colors on a row it’s stranded. If you use multiple colors its fair isle. ??
Oooo I love your colors for the petite knit colorwork sweater
So glad I found you, I think we have the same taste ❤
Thank you for these beautiful suggestions. I bought the Quilted Heirloom Cardigan! Wow! Thank you! You are such a light in the world and I appreciate being part of your TH-cam circle. ♥️🐑♥️🐑♥️

Thank you for watching
Lovely lovely thankyou x
WOW ! Those are some exciting and inspiring colorwork choices and projects. Thank you again for your fun podcast.
Glad you like them!
I don't know if I'm crazy or not but it seems like you frequently choose turquoise, browns, and oranges together and I am so here for that combo!
I love that combos ❤

Yesssss! I can’t resist a kal

Kaci, I saw ur shirt on "ahandknitletter" episode 4. I'm presuming this is ur cohort. Save some energy for me. 😊
Yes! She’s my pal ❤
Thanks Kaci. ❤️ Went right to Lichen and Lace and ordered there kit for the Argus Shawl. 💚💚💚💚
It’s a gorgeous kit!!!
Thank you Kaci, my colorwork project is in hibernation it`s the beautiful Academic Vest by Skeindeer knits. To knit colorwork two handed I can only dream of.... My brain gets in double knot mode with that technic :)) much love from Germany
I love that pattern!!!!
Love colorwork! I'm watching this while starting the Counting Sheeps Socks by Stone Knits LOL. definetly recommend all of her patterns btw
I love her patterns ❤❤❤❤
I love stranded colourwork. I made sheepcamp sweater, but the yoke was huge, and I frogged it. But may cast it on again in a smaller size. Just a heads up😊. I also love Moonstruck knits designs. ❤.
I like yokes with less ease for sure
Already cast on my Artus! It is such a beautiful design.
It really is!
I have made 2 stranded colorwork hats and i know i am going to keep it up. I like a little lace and texture, cables are where i start getting scared haha
I enjoy cables the most of all!! They just have to be right the cables in the right pattern for me.
Some of these patterns are lovely, thank you. It would be nice to see patterns that use long color changing skeins of yarn. Noro came out with the first ones, but there are lots of indie dyers and commercial dyers that have even 200 gr or larger skeins with really long color change.

I've haven't knit colorwork yet but I really like the Heirloom Quilt cardigan and Artus shawl.
It’s a lot of fun as long as it’s only two colors 😂
“Yes I did” 😂 cracking me up! You are my favorite knit cast- thank you for always brightening my day, Kaci! Love to you and yours ❤
Thanks for sharing your color work choice. I have a few in my favorites. The shawl is beautiful
Thank you!!!
thanks for sharing! Looking forward to your teased collab with Wooly Knit for the Quilted Heirloom Cardigan.. I've ordered from Woolyknit before and absolutely love their yarn, but the shipping to north america (canada) has been steep... can you comment on this in your collab video?
I am so excited to try their yarn. I will have to take a look at shipping
what beautiful dry flowers/ herbs is the short yellowish/ orange-y beige bouquet right behind you? it looks so beautiful. Would love to get something similar for my home
love your blog btw. went to college in AR, and always feeling so nostalgic listening to you/ seeing your videos
The heirloom quilt cardigan is actually stranded, but you could make it intarsia. I think I’m going to try ladderback jacquard with this one
Ah ok! It had the word intarsia in the description when I glanced 😂
@@YoungfolkKnits I think some people have opted for intarsia, flat stranded colorwork is kind of a pain honestly
Just lovely! I want to get better at colourwork. I made the Haunted House cowl from Tellybean knits this Oct, but it was a struggle. I feel like my tension is all over the place. Do you have any recommendations or videos I should watch?

@@YoungfolkKnits I am sorry. I had a bad day. We are all doing our best! 🙂
Good morning early bird.
Morning!
Kaci, what do you think about making straight sleeves on the Heirloom? I love the body but the sleeves seem like they just don’t go with it.
I’m going to do decreases on mine!
Who is your favorite vendor to purchase Sandnes Garn yarn?
Mother knitter and wool and co!
How do I sign up for the Kalicanbuymyselfflowers? I’m technologically challenged. Thank you.
All you need to do is post a picture on instagram with the hashtag #icanbuymyselfflowerskal
I’m in the terrified of colorwork category. Maybe that will change.

I guess it’s just my voice 😅
