Agreed! If Nintendo puts this game on the Switch Online Gameboy app, it will be because of the multiplayer mode as the single-player campaign is compromised with the smaller screen ratio (and you can play original SMB1/Lost Levels on the NES Switch app). Although, the over world map in this GBC version is cool as well as finding the red coins and Yoshi eggs.
I have plans for more GB/GBC multiplayer videos but need time so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out my GBA Single-Pak playlist: th-cam.com/play/PL9exeo9gYxCaRwVKrU5yS6Zqrf9c15I_R.html
@@riversart2030 Exactly! SMB DLX is one of the few games to use the IR Sensor. So scores are swapped using the IR instead of the link cable. Just remember to line up the GBCs close and stable. Rest them on a table. It can be a little sensitive.
Yeah, two copies of this cart in 2025 would cost you more than a new console. Nostalgia run amok: the one player mode is terrible (really a zero out of ten game) and the only thing worth praising about this game is the now very expensive two player mode. But hey, this is the joy of researching obscure link cable games. I assume you'll move on to the Game Gear next, as you've already researched everything in the GB library.
There are still many GB/GBC linking games I have not covered. And at the time of this post, I still have about half the Gamecube-to-GBA linking games still to cover. So plenty more to come.
this is an amazing video for us collectors
Like you said, was hard to find someone with the same game and a Game Boy. I played this mode with a friend once. It's really fun.
Great video. Looks absolutely awesome
Yeah, it is a pretty fun gameplay mode that very few people actually played.
This mode was so fun! I hope they bring SMBDX to Switch at some point so I can replay the multiplayer

Let’s pray that they bring Super Mario Bros. Deluxe to the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy app with local and online multiplayer! 🙏🏻
Finally. Make more link up guides

Do you know how to trade high scores? It is supposed to be how you unlock one of the album pictures but I'm not sure how to do it.
Nevermind, I just figured it out. You need two Gameboy Colors and you can only do it using the IR sensor. You then go to "records" and press A.
