*Have you installed a Mishimoto transmission oil cooler yet?*
Not yet. Waiting for my 47RE to take a crap first. I got one when they were still in R&D and waited for over a year for it to ship.
Used their radiators and intercoolers for years never had a problem..
Yes!
LB7 duramax, it definitely helps.
Yep got one going in on my early 99 7.3
I got one a 3.7L and that shit stayed the same temperature
Your videos are awesome, I can't believe you don't have more subscribers. Very professional.
Hey thanks! Happy to hear they are helpful.
Clean beast , I have 1 too.
Welp looks like I know what I’m gonna be doing lol - great videos
Thanks! It's a great upgrade 👌
Great vid. I’m going to put one on my 7.3 excursion before summer boat towing
Thanks! One of the best upgrades I've done 👍🏻
Where do you have your egt probe at, before or after the turbo? I noticed your temperatures around 900 are much lower than mine at 1100 to 1200 degrees is what my truck egt reads.
My probe is in the manifold, before the turbo. It was previously installed in the downpipe, right after the turbo, and the temps were about ~240° higher.
When you did the cooler swap did you service the transmission?
If so how much fluid did it take to get it back to full?
I did not service the transmission. I just added an additional quart of Mercon V oil to the transmission. The 4R100 transmission takes about 18-19qts of fluid when fully flushed 😳 A project I have planned for another time.

I have a 01 F350 power stroke so I should be fine getting one of these trans coolers as well correct? Thanks !
Yep! Per Mishimoto fitment: 1999-2003 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 w/ 7.3L Powerstroke
My 6.0 cooler overcools my 7.3 transmission on under 45°ish temperature highway, the converter won't lock due to cold fluid. People need to take this into consideration in colder conditions.
Interesting, I never had this issue in Denver and often drove the truck in well under 45° temps. Good to be aware of though and I have seen some trucks block part of the cooler with cardboard or something, for this type of issue.
Thermal bypass valve.
I installed my Mishimoto cooler last summer and live in eastern Washington. This past winter we had several day of temps in the teens day and night and I never had any of these issues. That’s weird you were having these issues. Also my truck wasn’t plugged in and is always outside.
@@brianpapiez1719great info! How many 0 degree days do you have per year?
@@Noone-zd8lwlast year from December to March almost every day was below freezing and several of those days it was in the 0* at night and just about below freezing during the day.
I put a Mishimoto Trans cooler in my 7.3 as well but where do you have the temp sensor located? My analog gauge still shows I am 140*.
There is a "test" port on the front left of the transmission (4R100) that you typically tap into for the temp sensor.
